interesting, it will interesting to see how Roger will train floyd on the pads for when he faces his next oponent (a southpaw).
i would assume when training an autodox fighter with this sytem the touch on the left shoulder would indicate the shoulder roll to deflect the right had which would be non-existant against a southpaw fighter.
@champ23100 Then go look at some else's youtube channel, my work and fighters speak for itself, thats why I get paid big money to teach what I know... But thanks for the comment...
a lot of talk about no whip or extension - everybody thinks they know better. Respect to Coach Rick for not slapping them down. Any trainer - any street kid actually - can teach a person to hit, hitting is not a talent. Not getting hit is a talent, great vids, keep them coming.
mann i think the mitt work is awesome from the boxer and the coach,i myself am a southpaw but unfortunately i don't hav n-e-1 that can do the mitt work for me!
@SifuJohnRivera Thank you very much my brother, I appreciate the compliment... I am trying to put together a few more detailed videos for southpaws, I am getting a lot of requests and I am actually training several now in the gym... Thanks again for the support... Coach Rick
@NextTime4U I make my martial artists fight from both southpaw and orthodox,as that is essential in full on self defense.A arm or leg could be injured, and that likelihood drastically increases with kicks, subs, slams, weapons, armlocks, knees, elbows, head butts, etc. added to the mix so you have to be able to continue to fight effectively no matter what position you're in.Being ambidextrous combatively saves lives,it's a hella workout and gives you a giant tactical and technical advantage in fights
@victorscreem Funny I got this same comment about 2months ago and I always answer the same way,, its not about fully extending your arms with this system of padwork,, its reflex, timing and muscle memory development for the fighter,, the woman in the video is now a 3 Time State & Regional Golden Gloves Champion and will compete this year for a National title,, she is also a excellent amateur boxing coach and sparring partner for a number of accomplished amateur and pro fighters, so yes it works
all arm shots with no real whip, this stuff may be ok as a warm up or even to get a bit of flow in the work, but this would be terrible to teach a novice because all the shots are being delivered incorrectly
Thanks for your comment but you are completely wrong,, first off this young lady is far from a novice,, she is a Two Time 119lb Golden Gloves Champion and going for her fourth title in route to the Olympics in 2012,, I train hundreds of fighters from all over the world in this system of padwork and they all continue to win and I continue to make a lot of money doing it,, but I appreciate anyones opinion,, thanks,, Coach Rick
Yeah, Heart and Determination are part of the game,, but Will and Skill is what wins fights,, She's a chief sparring partner for two current world champions and a two time Eastern Regional and Philadelphia Golden Gloves Champion,, so her chin is tuck when it needs to be... Thanks for the comment..

i notice there is no shoulder roll with the southpaw, is this down to the fact that the southpaw stance means you can not roll the right hand?????
