you know that ballet is all to do with smoke and mirrors, and nobody would have noticed the injury if it wasnt pointed out. so congrats!! just one thing, always be careful with the line of your body, because you seem to sometimes forget it. other than that you were great. :)
I just had surgery on my ACL 2 and a half weeks ago and I'm only 14. I got into the performing arts school in NYC and my freshman year, this happens to me :( how long did it take ur body to be able to do ballet and dance again?
Hey just saw the videos and seen your comments re ACL surgery. Over a year ago since your last comment here, how are you doing nowadays? You back dancing or..?
i hope your knee is better :).. regardless of the knee injury you had then (i could pick up a few things but you were probably doing them because of you knee) you need to spot when you turn, i noticed when ever you did turn you were looking at the ground..
I just had surgery on my torn cartilige in my knee. They found that my ACL was about 80% torn. They said I could get the surgery and MAYBE dance again.. or not get the surgery and never dance again. I am Hopefully getting surgery soon but it just breaks my heart to know I might not dance again :'(
You will be able to dance again. I've torn both my right and left ACLs and it took about a year to recover from both. Stick with physical therapy, strength training and conditioning and you will be back to dancing sooner than you think. Good luck. xoxo
your really good and your turns our perfect just make sure to pull up in your right side because i had the same problem and i started turning pulling my right hip up and it worked really well thats what can give you a turn, and the things that were great:EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK IN URGERY AND GET WELL SOON, I HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO DANCE ON POINTE BECAUSE YOUR REALLY GOOD.
They were gonna try physical therapy for a month. Then if it didn't help, I'd have surgery.BUT the day I was supposed to begin physical therapy, I collapsed, dead as a doorknob. PE/DVT...clots traveled from the knee to the lungs.
NOW I have to wait even longer to even TRY physical therapy, & if it doesn't work, EVEN LONGER to have the surgery (on blood thinners). AND STILL have to worry about clotting if I have surgery! I had a good athletic run. Just glad 2B alive.
hey i tore my acl too exceot in gymnastics its been about 7 weeks since my surgery and i was wondering when you tore yours and got surgery and how u were doing?!
Hey! i tore my acl in March 2007 and got surgery July 1, 2008. It's only been almost 2 weeks since surgery and im doing better everyday. I can almost walk, but i still need my crutches. I'm assuming u can walk by now. I hope you can go back to doing what you love! take care!
surgery wasn't the bad part. the bad part was the weeks afterwards when i had to relearn how to use my left leg with a new ACL. it's been a little over a month and i don't think i can fully extend my left leg when i walk so i walk with a slightly bent knee. but im good. just gotta physical therapy it! :)
i love pointe
