A real eye opener 4 d musicians of music.i was unaware of so many bands n so good musicians of yesteryear 4m our very own darjeeling.the gen next band stand nowhere next 2 dem.d hillians,forbidden fruit,turquoise n jade,prism etc.can our youth of 2day compare wid dem?never.its true d agitation brought a gr8 change so much destruction n mostly the vanishing act of the gr8 musicians.had they made darjeeling gorkhaland back then it wudnt have crushed the originality n the roots of our musicians!!!
I was from Darjeeling..althought havent been to Darj for last 20 years, I guess we are forgetting the band like US Band.who were as famous as FF. I had the Forbidden fruit album the First Bite it was nice...anyone has pls upload.....
Also my friends band-Rusty Nails...listen to Unlugged concert held in Kolkata...
Great Video..whoever had the guts! My Mom is from Darj and Dad from Nepal- ..lotsa musical influence came from my first cousins (mom's side)during the late 80's. Sadly nothing special can be seen in Nepalese Mainstream Scenario these days..Bands from Darjeeling needs to freshen up, emerge and hit the lights to ever-monotonous-characterless mainstream nepali pop.
Work of art!!! The fact that a group of youngsters had the wisdom and passion to record the history of MUSIC, and TALENT springing from beautiful Darjeeling (India's own Liverpool), makes this a classic documentary. A true homage to Darjeeling's Greats - where music and it's people are inseparable.
Definitely not a work of art - very amateur. BUT, a commendable effort for a group of youngsters from Kathmandu to lookup, document and acknowledge what is an essential flavour of the Darjeeling Hills - music. Especially when the exploits of the past, music or otherwise, is little but lore, and soon to be forgotten old-timer ramblings, among local circles.
