  • Song in Into: Windows 98 Remix.

  • Anyone hit mute 1 second in?

  • Hackintosh and forget that BS Windows OS!

  • song name

  • Comment removed

  • well do that again with an ssd disk or a 10k rpm hdd ad it will go mush faster

  • compare with chrome os Imao

  • Windows 8 is finished now its windows 9 pre-release.(oh god)

  • My windows 7 pc start up way faster than any of those two machines.. And im on i5 2500K 3.30GHZ (unclocked)

  • going by the boot screens it still the huge retarded unusably slow and sluggish lump its always was, it booting in to the desktop quicker is fine

but a/ how many resource are still loading at that point

    and

b/ its beta so the desktop isnt as complete as the finished product so it should load quicker

  • Ah, the nerds are drag racing again...

  • Windows XP black edition owns both of em lol

  • @100PercentTHCfilms xp lmao... its like compare the windows xp vs windows 3.11 get lost .... want windows 3.11 its 20 times faster than xp... fuck people are so dumb

  • @TheVanGastel no actually lol XP is functionable and can do practicly everything a windows 7 Computer can do if programmed right. 3.11 is dinosour compaired to both win xp and win7 win xp is only 2 below win 7 and windows 3.11 well we all know thts way farther, come on common sense. ive even tryed windows 8 out myself. and i think its better suited for touchscreens not normal desktops.

  • @100PercentTHCfilms lol windows 3.11 a dinosour lol you forget that xp its also dinosour lol next time use some brains. because windows 3.11 its from 1990 and xp its from 1999 compare that old dino xp with windows 7 thats build in 2009 so what are you saying again? move on with the time.

  • Ainda prefiro o Seven

  • Time to get an SSD...

  • both fucking slow

  • Windows 8 look shit

  • About that video.

The truth is Windows 8 Uses less Hardware than Windows 7, That's why is Windows 8 Winner!

  • M$ loves to tout faster boot times with each new operating system. But the real test is with applications loaded on your HDD and **very important** all the drivers associated with the various programs you are using. Changing from Vista to Win 7 was like wow!! Then I loaded all my programs and there wasn't that much difference.

I frankly am pretty happy with Win 7, and not looking at not migrating to Win 8. I'm not crazy about Metro and there are too many changes for workstation computing.

  • LOUD VOLUME WARNING

  • Omg 9800 to i7?

  • who wants a computer thats basically a windows phone/tablet.... just stupid

  • @littlehawkfan2011 you CAN change the metro look to a proper ordinary windows look

  • Windows 8 has TONS less files to load than windows 7

  • As Eric says: Do a comparison when Win8 is complete. And if you REALLY want to make a fair Boot time comparison, use a RTM Vers. of Win7.

Some might disagree, but let me explain: I once had an old PIII Laptop 500Mhz 192SDRam. It ran Win2003 Enterprise Edition. It ran just fine until it needed several fixes and a large Rollup after SP2, for safety reasons.

Then I had to go back to Win2kPro.

Later I've fixed my own and other peoples PC's slowed by XP Updates.

"Thank you, Advanced System Care Pro!"

  • just wait for win 8 in this october 2012..

  • what are you running seven on a pentium 3 500?

  • i have a 2ghZ computer with 3GB memory, and even my computer starts faster then the right computer and left computer for sure!

  • i7 + 9800gt = you must BE JOKING!!!

  • Mac OSX do more better than it...

  • @Theoz3111 Wow! REALLY? So the OS X from a year ago beats the soon-to-be outdated Windows 7 and the Beta build of Windows 8? AMAZING. Truly, Apple has the dumbest fanboys such as yourself.

  • lol did any one else think it said Windows 98 vs Windows 7?

  • I hate the way microsoft keep bringing out new operating systems, why do we even need then? I'm still on windows XP and it's lightning fast. The only reason I upgraded from win98 was because a peice of software I used wasn't compatible.

  • this is actually a song thats often found in newer and some older phones but not in this form and in this way.

  • it means that no antivirus is developed for windows 8

  • windows 8 is a beta version. it means that some sub-programs have not been written and there may be more crashes compared to windows 7 and no antivirus is there for windows 8

  • I Love my Win XP Pro.

  • wow i forgot how much i love my Solid state until i saw this.

  • R.I.P: Headphone Users.

  • Windows 7 - THE BEST !!!

  • I thought it was Journey - Don't stop believing

  • Win8 is quicker but Win7 is better!

  • what the hell is a 64 bit computer? you mean the operating system?

  • @ChrisTripp You do understand you need a 64bit processor to run a 64bit OS? Lulz.

  • @ChrisTripp My computer is 64bit. Suck on it.

  • I looks like they may have done away with the "pre-fetching/pre-loading", or a least made it a lot more optimized.

  • Windows 7 is and always will be better than Windows 8. Windows 7 just has the feeling of Windows XP with a few nice touches to it which allows easier usage. Windows 8 = fail.

  • win7 boot is faster on my old notebook than your pc

  • @gokoutricolor My notebook loads Win7 faster than that PC too!

    i7 (2630QM) with 4gb DDR3 1333MHz worth it!

  • Doesn't mean its ready and usable. I have a really slow horrible XP laptop that takes a minute or so to show the logon page, after that its still gonna take 2-3 minutes to load a desktop as its starting all the services in the background (in fact if you log on too quickly it just fails).

Need to measure until the all activity has completed and machine is idle and fully ready.

  • Stop to run after those Microhard rats! Even your XP is much better in privacy and security, then, soon, every year published new version ;))))

  • Almost there :D:D:D

  • Buy an SSD for windows 7,will boot allot faster :)

  • the music is catchy hahaha =P

  • of course windows8 would win the boot race since its not the full version yet. do the comparison when win8 is completed.

  • @erickrayos

You are absolutely right, man! ^_^

  • @erickrayos

    Doesn't really matter,

Win8 is specialy desinged for faster booting..

    Suck on that...

Also compain win7 beta to win8 beta, win8 beta still wins...

And windows 95 wins them all, fact

  • @erickrayos the difference bewtween it now and it at release isn't gonna be more than 1-2 seconds difference, was the same w/ windows 7 beta.

  • @erickrayos Actually it is Win7 + Win8 Features. With modified Kernel and other stuff of course but you can use it as a full system and everything that runs on Win7 also runs on this developer preview ;)

  • @erickrayos Well when its fully complete it might still win. If you see the system requirements windows 8 will now be able to run on old PC's with 200MB ram so it will run way faster than vista and 7. MS will make more money if they make win8 run that much ram because pll with old PC's will be able to use 200MB instead of 512 or upgrading ram. and there is no aero visual effects the visual effects in win8 are run down so now you don't need a graphics card to run aero visual effects anymore :D

  • @erickrayos thats not it... it has more to do then 7 now. :D being not complete either. its called windows 8 is optimized more

  • @erickrayos Better yet, with ubuntu 10...

  • @erickrayos +1

  • I prefer Android :D

  • windows 8 kicked windows 7 azz

  • but i like windows 7 more than windows 8...

  • Still waiting for OS X 10.8...

  • LOL ... Poor windows 7 , he finished the booting up and only get "Loser" tittle ...

  • Best OS on earth... Linux Ubuntu. Amazing community, NO random crashes.

  • every second windows os has failed since the release of XP

  • @iownudie108 Every second comment you have made on youtube has been wrong.

  • lol my win 7 takes 5 sec to load

  • I have Windows 8 on my Dell Xps 420 and on my eMachines.

  • Its windows 8 DEVELOPERS PREVIEW.......windows 7 developers preview would load much faster

  • step 1: buy an ssd.

step 2: install windows 7 on your ssd.

step 3: enjoy your windows 7 booting faster.

  • This is a pointless exercise.. anyone who knows anything about software engineering would understand the concepts of pre-caching, lazy loading and dynamic linking and all of that stuff. Just because it boots faster, Win7 might be pre-caching lots of things making your user experience smoother, since it wont have to load these things again as you move in and out of documents and programs etc. I'm not saying Win7 is optimal, I'm just saying that it's hardly a user experience comparison!

  • 0:27 To start the video.

  • one day windwos 7 was better on world so plz it is just game we fall in it so be ready to 8 9 10 windows ppl plz awake for god sake

  • With a SSD, more better !!!

  • What is The music Please !!!

  • @jakkiza2 Its A "Remix" Of A Samsung Ringtone :)

  • @cpstechnologies haha maaaan such a shitty song :D:D

  • lol i have that intro but i didn't use it yet becuz i wasn't planning on making a youtube video yet lol only yours is blue and stuff and mine is red

  • Windows 8 boots a lot quicker, but I'm sure this has to do with the more oversimplified Metro UI. Now if both OS's booted into the regular desktop it would probably be about the same, I'm assuming.

  • @keenkennyny

Not true. The Metro UI is an interface, but the classic Windows GUI will remain as well.

  • Wait... windows 8 is out already?

  • Have a laptop on your lap when your driving, so then you can crash while you crash into many windows!

  • how com on the win 8 there was no POST from the BIOS ?

  • Comment removed

  • There is no way a windows 7 takes that long to boot.

  • Why does your win7 take so long, mine takes 1/5 that time, what have you done to that poor thing

    Also Win 95> Win8

  • wait a second, wasn't that one of the samsung ringtones near the beginning?

  • But if u dont know u have low Pricessor

  • PUT AN SSD DRIVE AND IT TAKES 20 SECONDS!!

  • this is before watching the pr0n on the internet..after watching pr0n the speed becomes whole new different..

  • @aidorumita You watching pr0n on the internet?! OMG how old are you, 10?

  • LIAR!. No One has won. XP WINS :P

  • is that the samsung tune you used for this video... it has the same tune as my phones ringtone (which is samsung) just it's my is mp3 and it has voice in it...

  • my Vista Home Basic 32-Bit SP2 boots in about 50 to 70 seconds

  • My windows 7 machine boots in 6 seconds thanks to my vortex 3 OCZ SSD!!!!!!

  • Boot time really isnt important for either, my 7 machine completely reboots in under 30 seconds.

  • dumbass its not home premium its Windows 7 Ultimated

  • I wish both could boot faster so I did not have to listen to your crappy music.

  • Well in my laptop (I3 , 3 gb ram,etc...) boots in 14 seconds, and it turns of in 3 seconds with windows 8 preview developer :), it's an awesome windows, the best until now.

  • you know windows 7 vs 8 its not a competition until 8 is finished. 8 right now only has some programs you have to remember 8 is not completed. windows 7 has more software for it to load. 8 has only some software to load. you should do this when windows 8 is completed.

  • I read somewhere windows 8 doesn't completely shutdown anyways, when it shuts down, it is actually hibernating. It keeps a lot of what you load up in a swap file.

  • This music.. .Familiar...

  • I still use XP

  • Windows 7 <3

  • Loser... Windows 8 is going Mobile with its interface :(

  • i want windows 7 back!!!!!!

  • @BriareosHX ur just sad about being poor. Don't worrie a pentium 2 is still a good processor

  • How do you get your Windows 8 to boot so quickly? Mine takes longer than Windows 7!

It also has to show a boot display screen which slows it down by lots of time due to MS loading lots of drivers just to show that screen. (Why not the command line interface we were all used to, why load video and mouse drivers for a boot selection screen.)

That spinny loading circle spins at least 2-10 times for me, not only once.

It comes out of hibernation quickly though.

  • @ElvenSpellmaker This is something to consider.. The most common reason could be because of your Computer's Speed, Memory (RAM) and the Processor.. Another thing is that both Windows 7 and 8 take a lot of time to boot in mostly Netbooks (because of its lower specifications)

  • @cpstechnologies i agree even on slow computers takes longer time to boot both 7 and 8

  • @ElvenSpellmaker If you're dual-booting Windows 8 with Windows 7, it will cause the boot time to be slower. Also, if you cold-boot Windows 8, it will also take awhile to boot as well. At least for the developer preview, never reboot it, just use shutdown or sleep mode. If you use shutdown and you turn the computer on again, it will boot in less than 10 seconds.

In terms of hardware, a decent laptop from 2007 should be capable of booting Windows 8 in about 7 seconds (tested).

  • @ElvenSpellmaker Its because in Win7 they put HDD and in Win8 they put ssd with the best optimisations!

How do I know it? I'm an owner of couple of ssd's and my pc boots as fast as win8(I'm lucky? ..no, I just paid for it)

  • because its a preveiw duh

  • i like windows 8. however, microsoft may claim it can be used on a pc, but you need a touchscreen!

  • windows 8 is faster because its a developer's preview and not the full windows 8

    i stay at windows 7!

  • windows 7 is faster but same fast speed as windows 8!

  • dont think anyone is interested in windows 8, and its not even out yet, what a letdown for microsoft.. i bet its for very young people or very old people, who are new to computers. cant seriously expect to do some professional work on something so rediculous

  • Windows 7 is, like Windows Vista, a terribly optimized system. You won't notice it with good hardware, but as soon you throw a N550 at it it'll get painfully slow. XP just runs much better and faster, it almost feels like a SSD.

  • The real looser is you. All I can say is your pc sucks my win7 boots in 7sec. I guess that's what 4x240kingston hyperx's in raid 0 paired with a 3960x dose

  • @Paddy8D Okay, GTFO now!

  • @Paddy8D yeah take ur doses out of here lol..

  • Well it's not fair when you do 'shutdown' and then you start them up at the same time because win8 uses hibernation technology. Time a full restart comparison.

  • ehhjmmmm have you make msconfig windows 7 is faster

  • Windows 8: Its starts up faster. it shut down faster, it works faster and the last but not the least: it crashes faster.

    Welcome to Windows.

  • @Shovelware It's in beta you fucktard, and shit only crashes if you put it on a system that will struggle to support it. If you listen to the developer you will learn something. Same if you put Snow Leopard on a system that struggles to support it. The only reason why people have windows crash so much is because they are idiots that try to put the newest OS on to a system they have been using for years. So in conclusion, you're an ignoramus.

  • @Shovelware But once it crashes you can get right back try again in no time. Windows build character.

  • @Shovelware I haven't seen Windows crash in years. At least not in a corporate environment.

  • @Bazuna o ok.

  • @Shovelware Hope That The "Crashing" Part Never Happens...lol... :D

  • @Shovelware Don't cheap out and it won't crash.

  • same pc?

  • @laskyboi Yes

  • Windows 7! FOREVER!

  • @gjjunco then after some time Window 8 Forever!

  • I have windows 7 xTreme Edition and it's faster than win 8 =)

  • Comment removed

  • OH WOW WINDOWS 7 IS NOT LOSER THIS GUY IS A DUMBY BECAUSE WINDOWS 7 IS FULL AND TAKES TIME LOAD THE FILES WINDOWS 8 IS NOT FULLL D:.... SO OWN SO... YOUR A DUMBY

  • YEA, you caught up to Apple and Android. You are 3 years behind. DESIGN is ugly.

  • Can the softwares running in window7 be installed/run normally in window8?

I'm afraid that the softwares that i used to use in window7 cannot be installed in window8, such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, Robot Structure,....and some other old software versions.

Is the current window8 stable yet? Does it have some bugs? Does it run faster than window7?

    Thanks for the review.

  • @KYVisothSambath Windows 8 is pretty stable when I used it on my computer. All my drivers can't run on any other machine or OS but it worked with Windows 8 even though they were designed for Windows 7. I'm almost positive that all current software will work with Windows 8 give or take a few pieces of software.

  • @DumplingPod I completely agree with you. However, my USB Wi-Fi antenna's drivers don't work on 8, just on Windows 7.

  • which are the minimum requirements for a PC to run Windows 8?

  • @JimKav1 same as windows 7

  • is W7 and W8 new installed? My W7 is 2.5 seconds faster as W8 -.-

  • windows 8, looks like the windows mobile, and xbox update that was most recent..

  • im using headphones :(

  • It's fast because it doesn't have a ton of "User friendly" crap on it yet :P

  • its not fast is that is still not the full verson lol

  • hey he pressed esc on windows 8

  • my ssd is faster than your hdd

  • funny my win 7 start in 15 sec man....

  • Also, what's on your boot menu for winowds 7? Type msconfig in the start menu, then clear all the programs that boot with your computer, then retry it.

  • is win8 already out or that some kinda mod thing for win 7 like a beta

  • @halo1easter2egg3god its beta

  • @rsfreak31 ok thanks any idea when the offical come out

  • It was fake...please clearly observe the difference at 0:51secs.

  • where the hell is the desktop at? If I wanted to work on a tablet, I would buy a tablet... I need my folders and icons -.-

  • @castle347 the desktop is still there what you saw was just your start menu which replaces the start button which all older windows users are used to

  • It's a new OS, of course it loads faster. No need to cry because of technology evolving, it doesn't matter if you like Windows 7 better, facts are facts. Windows 8 was built upon 7, meaning it has the same features and files. Stop making excuses.

  • Windows 8, sure, it's slower.

But hey, at least it's actually a proper operating system rather than some half-baked shit.
