  • this is how I do my RDLs and I agree it feels fantastic! Right now I'm only getting about 350 for 6 reps or so at 6'3" 205lbs. I hope to be as strong as you one day! What is your height/weight?

  • nice form

  • Great stuff bro I've been watching some of your vids and I am insanely impressed, you're a great motivator.

I noticed in a response to another guy's question that you tore your hamstring. What was recovery like for that? I don't go very heavy as far as squats or leg presses go because I blew out my knee playing football so I was curious as to what your recovery was like and if there was any surgery involved.

    thanks!

  • @samsungpropel1 A slow and steady progress...I can still feel it tweak a little on heavy stuff so I constantly have to stretch and baby it. Sucks.

  • Hey Tommy,

Good work bro, I started training with Layne myself recently, Im 4 weeks into the program. How long have you been on the PHAT program?

  • @tradguitarplaya I haven't trained on that program in over 2 years - I believe there are far better training programs

  • @Sporto4323 could you name some?? please :)

  • @crysisgoty - That would be something to discuss with Layne if youa re working with him. My clients don't all get put on the same program, it is tailored to them specifically for their goals.

  • haha, this guy is proving that smaller guys are stronger than the "big" guys! good job mate!

  • Perfect form and great strength man!

  • Great deadlift strength bro - your form was tight. A little odd starting from the top like that, given that you are missing out on the best part of the movement - the initial pull that doesn't involve the stretch reflex, but each to their own I guess.

I am sure you are getting what you want out of the exercise....so great lift.

  • @BRETZERR Yeah, on these I have to be really careful as I have a ton of scar tissue in one of my hamstrings from tearing it a few years ago...so I start with the stretch reflex as a precautionary thing with this kind of heavy weight...

  • @Sporto4323

Makes sense....besides...you are training as a bodybuilder right? No real need to pull from the floor initially at this stage. Keep training smart.

  • @Sporto4323 I do the same thing for the exact same injury from football in high school.

  • @cbass5511 - Sucks, doesn't it?

  • @Sporto4323 lol......yea :(

  • nice job keepin your form all the way through those last tough couple of reps. my back really wants to round on me towards the end when i'm doing those.

  • That's just core strength. My core happens to be one of my strengths...if you notice, I never wear a belt - even during heavy squatting, deadlifting, etc.

  • Tommy, when I squat I feel a little hurting in my back, people tell me to use a belt but I want to better my positioning you have any advice?

  • It really depends on what is actually causing the pain...have you been to a doc or chiro? If it was muscular, I would advise to strengthen your core and do some core warmup work beforehand, but if it's something else, then that won't help...so it kinda depends on what the real problem is...

  • great lift.

  • Way too hog all the 45 pound plates tommy!

  • LOL! Thanks!

  • wow very nice lift.

  • This is the same way I do them. I find that locking my legs completely out only hurts my knees.

  • Same here - as long as I feel it in the glutes/hamstrings, I don't really care

  • wow now thats power lifting , good stuff mate, stay fit. cheers
