I love this song! Caravansarai is my favorite Santana album. I am yet to hear a track from this album on the radio. I hear guys in their 50s and sixties talk about album oriented rock stations back in the 70s. I suppose some of those stations would have played this great song. Today's classic rock format is lame as hell.
At this point, I could see Carlos playing with Miles Davis and was wondering if he'd show up on the next Davis album. My favorite period of his for sure.
@hooptyhee1 Davis for sure. The horn charts here are pure Gil Evanesque. Shame they never hooked up. More than just stars, it would have been a sincere artistic collaboration.
the horn and string arrangement at the end section sandwiched between the explosive dynamism of the drums & percussion and the fiery angelic bird of paradise in the guitar.....reveal the influence of Milt Jackson's "For Someone I Love" ...Wild and sublime. :D Bliss.
I Fell In Love With This Cut....Caravansarai Is A Underratted Album I Give This Album 1,000,000,000 Stars

How good would it be to be able to tune into a radio station that played songs of this calibre instead of the tripe they currently dish up !

I have tripped hard to this, because of it I came back safe

I'm being ripped apart and re-assembled in ways spiritually virtually unimaginable. All for the better....

One of my favorite Santana songs, if not THE favorite. Unearthly album; Carlos's best by far.
