  • HI!...From Canada!...Vancouver, British Columbia to be exact. I have visited and enjoyed Leek when I was there.

  • I live in Notts now but used to live in The White Lion, Leek and loved it!

  • That is so haunting, and heart wrenching. Its a shame leek is what it is at the moment, maybe it will calm down in a bit. If only they hadn't built the smithfield center, and put some beautiful stone buildings in place. But the thing with leek is that there is a beautiful part even now that people don't look at. Its the top of the building down derby street. they are still the same as they were 100 years ago. god bless you all in Leek and them who have moved else where. :o)

  • We loved in Leek for eleven years. It is a nice little town - lovely people.

  • The only thing the photos don't quite bring out are the driving winds with attached rain, sleet and/or snow. I miss Leek a lot but not the weather.

I come back every year for a couple of weeks in the summer and that's cold enough!

  • at 1:03 electricare my dad now lives above in the flat next door..

  • Aww that is nice, little anecdotes like that sort of brings it alive. Thankyou :-)

  • i lived there and it is a nice place to live.

  • ii live here !

  • Ive lived in Leek all my life and my family have lived in the town since 1681 ! I wouldnt live anywhere else - brilliant !

  • Is this really Leek?? Where's the snow?? I associate Leek with freezing cold and snow !! My favourite one is the tanker stuck between 2 buildings. Only a Leekite could of being driving it!

  • Hi, I come from Leek and have always lived here and I would not move anywhere else I love it, I know many people moan about the place but I think its a great place to live.

Your photo shows were lovely to watch, wouldn't it be lovely if we could back to those times for one day to experiance it first hand!

    Well done

  • My son will be doing a history of Leek at school soon, I was wondering where best there was to search for such old photos? I know the local library has a local studies section and the internet has photos of leek and leekbrook, but i cant find anything else bar a small bit on wikapaedia
