  • Why are Ted and Barney on the album cover?

  • Simon is one of those rare musicians who can not only craft a great song and melody but touch the heart with such beauty that one is affected for hours if not days after listening to one of his gems. A true gift to all humans who struggle and need lifting. Peace unto yee Sir Simon.

  • I love Christian music, and to be able to have that mixed with my favorite artists of all time is wonderful! <3

  • Impressive harmonies - love it!

  • This is a direct quote from Matthew 21:9 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. The crowds were shouting this as he was riding into Jerusalem. Karl Jenkins' version of Benedictus adds the phrase "Hosanna in excelsis" or Hosannah in the highest. Hayley Westenra sings the Jenkins version very nicely.

  • LOVELOVELOVE simon and garfunkel, i'm 15 anf my dad used to play their songs to me as a baby and i seriously cannot get enough of them!

  • also das ist echt eines der schönsten lieder das ich je gehört habe einfach nur wundervoll

  • The real blessing is the actual message of Benedictus (The Song of Zechariah) from Luke1:68-79, celebrating the imminent birth of the Messiah, who woulf fulfill all of the prophesies of saving his people, and of the role his own son (John the Baptist) in announcing his entrance with a call for repentance.

Its a pity that most people don't understand this to be one of the earliest canticles in the Christian church, calling for repentence in order to receive Jesus Christ as Lord.

  • their latin pronunciation isn't the best, but i love simon & garfunkel and this song enough not to care at all <3

  • Oh, so rich! May they enjoy it and find the deep peace it brings to me and many, many others.

    Thank you, Art and Paul.

  • Despite my lack of faith i like this..so tranquil.

  • I always drop tears while listening to this song... That is the religion I believe in: blessed those who come in the name of God in His most beautiful and powerful law — do to others what you expect others do to you.

In nomine Domini atque Amoris cur aequalia sunt ipsa!

Thank you both, Simon and Garfunkel, for recording this song, and thanks to you that posted it for our delight!

shalom aleichem / as salaam alaikum

  • well said friend!! God bless! :-)

  • This is the only hymn I actually love listening to. I wish I could find someone to sing with me or something. The vocal harmony is... incredibly beautiful.

  • I have had the same wish for 40 years SaturnaliasOffspring. Too late now as I have wrecked my vocal chords even if we weren't in different countries. This is as sublime as when I first heard it all that time ago. They are still matchless.

  • Just GORGEOUS! Harmonies that send shivers up my spine. Simon & Garfunkel are simply SPLENDID! Thanks for putting this masterpiece on YouTube.

  • It's very beautiful.. No problem!

  • I love this song to death.

  • Beautiful song. Brings back memories of Simon & Garfunkel

  • Amen.

    What a beautiful song.

I know it for a long time, but it still is great.

And what a great singers are Simon and Garfunkel.

  • Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini

    Translation:

Blessed (is he/she) who comes in (the) Lord's (or God's) name.

Simon and Garfunkel do a beautiful version of this song.

  • I didn't know that, thanks! Yes, they do.
