Holy shite, totally wasnt expecting that to be as great as it was! I was just looking for good harp solo version of this song and stumbled onto this gem. Excellent rendition fellas.
@deadlyoneable Thank you for your kind words. Glad to hear you enjoyed our rendition. Please check out the other videos in this series by visiting my main page and looking in the Playlist. Enjoy
@jacksorengan Thank you for your comment. Yes, back in the rural Blues days, there were no drums. Apart from a wasboard and Otha Turner's Drum and Fife style. When the music traveled North, the Chicago style ala Elmore James with drums and bass, clearly brought the sound uptown. It is just like how the Grand Ole Opry doesn't allow no drums. Although, I am not sure if that policy has changed. Happy New Year. Enjoy.
@gardengrammy2 Thank you for your comment. Please visit my main page. We have a series of duets in the Blues Harp and Bottleneck Guitar Playlist. Enjoy.
@braintransplantdonor Thank you for your question. Bill has been playing guitar for decades and just fooling around with harp. He has only been taking lessons with a teacher for a few months now. So, as we continue to record duets, Bill's playing is going to evolve. He seems to be enjoying the process. I am really glad he took it up. I wanted to record my street songs for a while now. The added harp just makes it better. Enjoy.
hi ken thanks for the music, i love acoustic guitar & harp it goes together like fish & chips and errrrr sonny& brownie, looking forwards to more of the same l&p
@MrSleepytg Thank you for your comment. We plan to do a whole series of songs. Due to the fact Bill is actually in the process of learning to play harp, we are going to take our time, so he can practice and learn the songs. He is consulting with his teacher. A great way to learn I think. On the job training. LOL I think he did a great job. Actually I like it's simple raw feeling. Unfortunately as you improve, you lose that pristine innocent quality and gain a more refined perfection. Enjoy
@earthmother Thank you for your interest in my music CD, Good & Evil. It is for sale on ebay by searching: keni lee I will send you some information just in case you would like an alternate method to purchase it. Enjoy.
@ZEDZOR2 Thank you for your comment Peter. The name may be the same, but Elmore's song is totally different. Listen to the melody line (lyrics). Fred's is a traditional style Gospel song. Enjoy.
@KeniLeeBurgess Yeh i c wot u mean, its a great anthem song i really dig Elmores version, its a strange song in that its almost pop blues its verging on mainstream which is odd for blues but these guys were pushing boundaries i suppose. Thanks for the tip ;0].
@ZEDZOR2 Oh ya, Elmore is good stuff. That early electric Chicago sound. The birth of Rock and Roll and the Power Trio sound. They took that early raw rural Blues and gave it the energy of the big city. Suit and Tie...Rock and Rye. Thanks for responding. Enjoy.
I learned this tune from watching your videos, and it's one of my absolute favourites to play. I'm not particularly good at guitar, but this is simple yet powerful. Great stuff.
I learned it just from watching your youtube videos. I plan to get CDs 1, 2 and 3 soon when I have more time and funds! Your tunes and talks are great at keeping me motivated.
@ppybmjc Thank you for responding. I appreciate your interest in my CDs. Please remember, after you purchase them, if any questions arise as you work through the lessons, you can feel free to write. This is part of the deal too. Enjoy your practice.
@keithalan10 Thank you for your encouraging comment. I wanted to do a series of videos that are more reminiscent of my live street performances, but Instead of doing them just solo, Bill agreed to accompany me on harp. I think in time this will create an enyoyable playlist.
