Do anti gun idiots ever realize that policeman and fbi agents are 'gun toters'? The only people who have ever committed murder with 'machine guns' were policeman. Look it up. And why are they wining about a bunch of guys being armed in public? They are doing their own everyday things like them, except not being stupid and wasting their breath and time on protesting something that's helping them.
Because there is no law stating that anyone must obey private signs, it means legally, we can ignore them. The same logic applies to open carry - in PA there is no prohibition regarding OC, therefore, it isn't illegal.
I ignore private signs all the time, from "No Guns" to private stop signs. For something that minor, I wouldn't mind being a test case. Besides, if the law is going to be vague, it *should* side with the citizen always.
According to Pennsylvania law (specifically the PA Uniform Firearms Act), only the state legislature can make laws regarding the carrying, transportation, and purchase of firearms.
The councilman is correct in saying that anyone in PA can post a sign saying no firearms allowed, but there is no force of law behind those signs so people can ignore them.
@Rayven10 You are actually incorrect. If the manager or owner doesnt want guns on the property then they can ask you to leave and if you do not its defiant trespass.
@YllwFvrPB Neither one of us is incorrect. I merely stated that signs carry no legal weight in PA. If a private property owner or his agent asks a person to leave, they have to or it is indeed defiant trespass. Signs mean nothing here, unlike in other states like Florida. If a property posts a "No Firearms" sign, it is automatically trespassing if a person carrying a firearm enters (other than law enforcement, obviously).
@Rayven10 not exactly true, it just hasnt been tested yet. If a sign says no trespassing, and you ignore it, that can be seen as your warning. Same goes for hunting on posted property. You are mostly correct but our gun lawyer suggests we not push the issue and become the test case. I am certainly not eager to be that guinea pig
