A tour of some Corn Cob Pipes and some Tobacco

I remember when I was very young (five or six) when my dad would go to the drug store to get cigars, and every time I went he would let me pick out a corncob pipe and he would get it for me. I thought they were the coolest things even though I didn't fully understand. A wonderful memory:)

Good video. I have a question, why are your legend's bowls fatter toward the top? Mine are a uniform shape from top to bottom. Do they not all have the same shape?

I am a big fan of MM corn cobs. Due to circumstance, my first Legend was smoked three or more times daily for almost six months. It is still in good shape.

All of my cobs are great smokers although my Patriot tends to burn a bit hot. So far, the Diplomat is my favourite but I don't have a Country Gentleman yet. That will be my next order.

Personally I toss out the filtres before the first lighting.

I think the shank is birch, not pine. Pine has a very strong smell and taste when it burns

FWIW, I have quit using the filters. I replaced them with sections of 6mm plastic tubing. I have on order a replacement stem which does not take a filter. (He said as he puffed away at some Prince Albert in a Country Gent.)

Question. Which ones have the same wide diameter bowl opening as the Gentleman? I have a Gentleman and a Washington. I prefer the wide chamber of the Gent, but the lighter heft of the Washington.

Well done! I like the "swanky" Country Gentleman too. I agree with your assessment that a cob smokes just as well as an expensive briar.

How do you keep the rim of your cobs so clean? Do you clean them? What do you use?

@BlueDemon77 When they get dirty I clean them up with some micromesh starting at 1500 and going on to 8000.

COBblers! I'm still not convinced LOL.

Tilbury is one of the most awful sh!tholes in Essex, so you can imagine how bad that is. It once boasted the roughest pub in England. Hope the baccy is much, much better than it's namesake or you are in for a rough time my friend.

Great selection of cobs there! Hey are you the guy who does those BBC animal documentaries? Haha, just kidding mate, I'm a big fan of Attenborough! Your vid kind of reminded me of that when you started it out. I'm going to have to get me a cob for the collection soon. Oh, and the camera quality looks excellent!

Quite a cob selection! I purchased a cob pipe from Aristocob last month just so I could say I have one...hee hee. I've smoked it about six times so far...not bad, but not my best smoker. ;)

Great selection of cobs you have there. I have never heard of cutting the filters in half but that is a good idea for saving money and putting it toward some baccy. I do hope you do a vid on the Jack knife. I have wanted to try it since it came out and there have been many people wondering how to prepare it for the pipe. Fun video as usual..

@darfirst Cheers Mate. Jacknife video for sure. I have to send off for the filters so I'm keen to make them last longer. They still work OK in fact the draw is a little better with half a filter.
