One more thing about your bones, obviously calcium is important but magnesium, vitamin k, and vitamin d are all essential too, and they all work together to help your body absorb the calcium, so you might look into some foods high in those when you make your next smoothie :-) I've also heard omega-3's can help with arthritis and inflammation, so some raw nuts might be a good idea also
Hi Sweetie, thank you for the information. I'm not sure if you know but I have spent many years studying nutrition, it was once my major for career focus, so I am very educated on all these topics but do appreciate your input : ) I'm on top of the game nutritionally so no worries about me in that department. It's all about what I can do and what my body can do with it considering the shape it's in. I get good omega in my purslane and now added raw hemp back in... amazing stuff, highest source.
I know you know a lot about it but I wasn't sure if you studied it, and just in case you didn't know I thought I'd share. Even though I study it I always forget about how beneficial the Omega 3's can be! I swear whenever I look up a condition it always mentions getting those. I'll have to check out hemp, I bought hemp milk once but didn't like it at all, but maybe another source will taste a little better :P
I just left you 2 comments about my previous one above but the comments are in one of my IV videos so I know you'll read them. I can tell you are very well educated and think it's so great you are learning nutrition too. You absorb what you learn well, I can tell. Bless you dear, keep posting whether I know it or not, others might not and will benefit. You can be their teacher!!!
I'm sorry but I can't let this slide. I have to say something and it's going to take like 4 comments to do so. After I posted my response I thought about how cocky I sounded and what my intentions were. I want to appologize if I came across as cocky because of my pride in my background in nutrition. Healthy confidence is good, cockiness is not. here is what happened for me. I read your comment and my first thought, to be blunt, is "Oh shit, as if I didn't already know this..." then I asked -
myself "how on earth would she know if I know or not... she is just trying to help" Bless you. In the moment though I felt challenged and intimidated by the fact that you seemed just as educated on these topics.I wasn't sure if you were a student of nutrition but I have a lot of guilt over having to leave school for health purposes so then I got jealous over the idea of someone in school for nutrition and suceeding in it.
OMG, total therapy session right now lol SO i respond in defense so you don't think I'm stupid in nutrition. I got like four or five comments from you on videos so it was a built up of nutritional advice that I was already aware of and didn't want you to think I wasnt. To sum things up, I got triggered and it wasn't you and I do not want to seem ungrateful nor do I want to intimdate or discourage you from posting your well earned wisdom in nutrition.
So please, keep posting. Others will benefit and I always have room to learn more. Let's share together in unity. I am sorry I got defensive, crabby and insensitive in response. If you see me do this in the future please help call it out, it's a defect of charcter I want to work on and will need help seeing it sometimes. I also do not want a competitive spirit and I was being competitive here like Mr and Mrs Know it All lol I hope you get these comments and know they are from my heart. I do care
No worries Johnny, you have a lot going on right now in your life so you're allowed to be crabby sometimes! haha i can relate in some ways. When I tell people I'm vegetarian, people that know i study nutrition, they lecture me on protein, etc. I have to bite my tongue because i want to say "i think I know a little more about nutrition than you do..." but that would sound horrible and cocky so i hold it in. But it's all good, expect more comments from me... whether you want them or not :-P
I am the same way about raw food, however I don't always hold my tongue. One thing i am good at though is owning up so thank you for the response and your comments are always welcome! Pfft, I will now crown you Miss Know It All in the most respectful and pleasant of ways. What color do you want your crown to be? I will bejewel it like crazy!
And i'm having trouble leaving a comment on your page, I tried like 4 times and it keeps saying there's an error... unless there really isn't an error and you just received 4 comments from me lol
Sorry to hear about your back pain :( I don't have osteoporosis, but I do have fibromyalgia, and I know what pain and fatigue feels like. I'd assume in your case it has to do with osteoporosis. I mean if your bones are weak then it makes sense that you'd get aches and pains from it. Unfortunately I don't know much you can do for bone/joint pain, just muscle pain.
I'm so proud of you!! Congrats on taking more steps in recovery! I'm also working on healthy eating habits and working on a schedule to give me a sense of accomplishment, as opposed to not getting anything done at all. This last week, I've done all of my schoolwork! I'm glad that you have faith in God, even though we are of different religions, I can see the similarities between us there (even though I'm Wiccan).
I'm so happy to see an update from you Johnny! :) First of all, I wanted to say that I'm so glad that you are on this IV treatment. I hope it has some positive outcomes for you. And I'm glad that you are replacing ED activities with ones that concentrate on your health, spirit, and relationship with God. I think of you often, and I have faith in your recovery. Lastly... I will definately check out the holiday videos. I have problems around this time of year with my ED as well. Thanks for them!
Thank you so much dear. I can guarentee you that regardless it will def. have positive outcomes as it's giving me direct nutrients that my body will keep and can't get lost from purging. They go in, stay and recycle different than those of the GI tract. Thank God for guiding me here. I love the doctor and staff! My document vids will be up within a few days. XOXO love to you
You asked about osteoporosis... I know a lot about this, from both personal experience, and also my published research. Osteoporosis in the spine doesn't normally cause back pain unless there are vertebral fractures. These fractures can occur spontaneously in people with a history of being underweight - i.e. without trauma from falling etc.
Also, as you say, very low weight inevitably means that the body is consuming itself (CONT...)
Muscles are broken down and the amino acids released are ultimately converted to glucose to enable the brain to function as well as is possible. The resultant muscle wasting leads to weakness and pain.
I had terrible back pain when my anorexia was very bad and my weight very low. Exercise worsens this because it increases energy demands and there are simply not enough energy stores available.
Muscle strength and bone density increase with weight gain. I've seen that in myself...
Thanks Cathy. Before I start, since our last comments about your Father I have been praying for you both every morning on my prayer walk. i wanted you to know this. RE: osteo - my posture has really started to go and that's effecting it too. I also know that being this low in weight and boney doesn't help, bruising from a high quality bed isn't healthy. I have known for awhile my body is feeding off itself - horrible muscle atrophy then the fat stores and then organs... overtime process. Anyhow,
we have both been through a ton and are still standing, God's glory that we are both still standing... I do believe in healing and health restoration and glad you have experienced this in areas (especially turning bone density around). Give the glory to God for He is the one who provided you the strength and tools to heal this.
Thanks Johnny :) I really appreciate your prayers and I know my Dad appreciate's others' prayers. He told me last week that his illness has further strengthened his faith in God.
I'm glad you're having the IV therapy. Sometimes we need a kickstart to help us in recovery. It will get easier. Have you thought about purchasing an air-filled mattrass to go on your bed? They're prescribed for people with bedsores but they help when bones protrude.
You are so welcome, these are power prayers like throwing my hands in the air not caring what cars and neighbors think! Air topper! never tried, but omg good suggestion honey, thanks so much!!! Six months ago I invested quite a few pretty pennies in a new mattress and have had down toppers in the past but never an air one,,, down or memory foam hasn't been enough help. I will research air toppers. Woohoo. Sounds like a cloud!
You can definitely feel it when you have osteoporosis because in time the bones can't support themselves and they become compressed they can also develop fractures, so watch out for slips and falls or heavy lifting. You can reverse it at your age :) Make it happen!

They have disappeared with optimal nutrition. I sometimes was curled up in my bed it hurt so much... I also believe that the body can heal a lot despite "medical" opinions on some illnesses/damage.
I believe in miracle healing as well. People have been cured of cancer, etc. I've seen a lot of people do just this through raw foods alone, free of cancer. I have pretty severe osteo. but it doesn't hurt to have hope... I've been thinking about you and hope things are going okay. Where did you end up moving to?
You were right about sugar - I decided to cut it out - & I do feel much better... I'm not an anorexic - so you don't need to worry about triggering anything. I have anxiety issues - which it'll probably help. x
Good for you! Remember to eat lots of fresh fruits to help curb sugar cravings. It's a drug and addictive, literally. If you like fresh dates they are straight up candy from God!!!
@MyOwnStickFigure i agree also deficiencies in potassium can result in orange juice cravings and cravings for chocolate can be from either deficiencies in potassium or magnesium, trying to remember which one, but just treat with minerals and tissue salts and help beat sugar cravings as long as you don't load up on sugar at the same time
We don't need refined and fake sugars which is what me and the other user were referring to. Chocolate is not a real food, cacao is and those are beans and contain drug stimulant chemicals. Get natural sugars through fruits not through fake foods.
Hi Johnny! This is my first time commenting! I know you said you don't want to be considered an inspiration at this time, but I can't help it! You are so motivated and your positive attitude is really admirable :) Good luck with the new treatment!
Hello and welcome! Thanks for the first time comment : D I will graciously accept your compliment. When I am making progress and actually healing then I find it approperiate to be considered inspiring. It's only when I am very deep in addiction and not really progressing where I can't accept it because I wouldn't want to inspire those behaviors. Then again, you all know whatever I chose to show so sometimes I think it's personal disappointment that drives me to feel that way. Anyhow, hugs 2 you!
Anytime babe! How'd it go, how'd it go? Well, actually you may still be there. But either way, let me know. Your wondering where my tats are coming from eh? What excatly do you mean? They are things that i have wanted done, but I have been going a bit over board. I think it helps me cope with SI or my ED. Not sure.
I left a comment on my channel page about today until the videos are up! What I meant about the tattoos is everytime you share a video you have a new one - seems like you are on the same rip roaring roll I was last year, remember that? I think it's WONDERFUL you are using this as an outlet. I do the same thing It's seriously one of the most precious experiences. I had to stop due to health. Low weight and ed behaviors hinder the entire process - especially healing after. I shall return when well
I pray treatment goes well for you, Johnny! It's wonderful to hear you say 'doing God oriented stuff instead of ED stuff'. That is key in recovery, to dissisociate yourself from ED. I have never been diagnosed with osteoporosis, but I'm sure I have some damage to my bones because last time I went to check my vit. D/calcium level it was dangerously low and I was not having a period for 2 years. I don't know what you feel, but with my bones I have felt a dull ache and pain when walking.
What we do is find things to replace the sick satisfaction of addiction. For me I am still heavily addicting but reducing and working on an eventual abstinence Considering how things are for me, it won't happen over night so I must be patient and not blame myself and just focus on my progress and God. The europhic feeling of the peace of Jesus is now being identified as better than food numbs and I am leaning on spiritual replacements. It also forces me to have to eat more for energy to go out.
Do you have health insurance to cover bone density? it's crucial to get some bone testing. I should of at age 14 and waited so long... up until I was like 25/26 and told my bones were equal to someone 85.. it was back pains that got me to finally get the tests and there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage - one of the many things I deal with but anyhow starvation also plays major effect. For me, my body has eatn itself down to organs - eats the protein, fat and then goes to organs.
Thanks so much for the prevention series! I'm looking forward to viewing and reviewing! I am praying for you. Tomorrow may be scary, but I think it's a part of the journey that will help you so much!! Blessings. May the Healer continue healing us.
Thank you for the encouragement honey bunny. Please let me know what you think of the series. I need to take some time to rewatch it too. Holiday seasons are hard for me for many reason - I know they are for many. May yours be blessed.
thanks for the update ;-) I really enjoy your vids. I need to find my own way to avoid the binge and purge cicle when I feel too stressed/depressed/whatever
There must be something that works for me...
As always I send you all my suport and love! Please remember I love you and I'm with you, dear!!
I love you honey. You already have skills and tools to recover, keep using them. I know that for you, as well as myself, art is a great outlet... so are crafts... have you considered taking a hobby craft class?
I agree with both these comments! and anyways I think that you should look at the video response i am putting on here. You can take it off as a video response I just wanted tyou to see it because it is an inspirational book I made for my friend who has an autoimmunue disease and I go through the book and there is one page in it that is pretty much the steps from your relaxation excersise video! I just think that you should see it because you may like the quotes as well.
Hi cutie pie. i am honored. i approved it but have to watch it on my laptop as I can't hear it on my PC w/speakers all the way up too. I will be sure to comment after I am able to watch it, love you

We have health insurance, not sure if it would cover a bone density scan. I need to ask! I know I need to get one!
