next time make sure to use a razor blade you wont scratch as much. if you have any parts cleaner tht will work better too. just make sure its dry before you put it back together. and then you dont have to wait 6 hours

u can use a sharp razor (shaving blade) thats the best tool to remove the cabon deposits..

Cheers man, mine my one was 3mm thick with black gunge on the piston itself too, no wonder it was losing power :-P the mower was about 20 years old

nice video young man. the very first engine I rebuilt was a engine similar to this. it was in the late 90's and I was 16 or so. I was sooooo amazed at myself. It really was quite easy: I took it apart completely. replaced the piston rings. honed the cylinder wall. cleaned the hell out of it. put it all back together. and BAAM bout to do the same to my Miata only slighty more complex then that.
