It's not an RC plane, there's a trained mouse in the pilot's seat, and he's had a bit to drink before he took off. This was his solo certification, and he was a bit nervous, so a couple of pints helped him get up the nerve to make this flight. :)
Hey we arent all like that! dont be hating on Americans. We flew the first powered airplane anyway. Im tired of foreign shits complaining about the U.S. Just because one pilot is like this does NOT mean that we are all like this. I believe that scale models are to be built and flown to scale.... hows that for "typical american"
@modeltrain9500 hmm. one slight contradiction here. surely the people who assume all americans are like that, are the idiots of other countries. i'm pretty well educated, and english, and i know that the person who said that is most likely a total fool. don't get annoyed because they're the morons haha.
Should have been titled "is this plane beefy or what?" I've seen too many planes land A LOT lighter than that and need major repairs. Kudos to whoever built this one.
id say or what... jk cool plane usually bigger scale planes like this even my ultra micro p51s wing bent in half when i landed like this ...well built
Very, very lucky...he probably had an angel on his shoulder, or something, 'cause it would take him months to repair it...if not to rebuild a new one. Beautiful bird!!!
a guy at our club flies a mosquito with 2 zenoah g62's and he destroyed that about 2 months ago from exactly the same problem but he was a bit higher when it stalled
I tried many times to return to 'my plane when it went to the knife ... but the result was much more' total disaster ... 4 aircraft completely destroyed ...

All I can say is it's an incredibly strong well built model, any other plane the wing would have torn right off.

He's lucky alright: lucky to be allowed to fly. Typical American - builds a scale model then flies it like a pylon racer.

Why are so many scale pilots such bad pilots and build such heavy models??
It's like putting a dodgey 85 y/o behind the wheel of a Winnebago.

WHo ever made that plane, must have done a fantastic job with building up the
landing gear mounting base....
If it where a ARF, all 3 gears would have ripped out...
THat is if, the owner didn't take the wing apart and beef it up himself...
What kit was it?

i agree lucky he didnt tear it up,,,but looks like he stalled it ,or a very poor landing ,maybe downwind,or too much flap deflection
norm53 2 years ago
Looks like the starboard engine cut out just before the dip... If that had been me, I'd have caught the wingtip and dusted the plane for sure.
