  • Thansk for the proffesional reply. I like the "linked to other tools" strategy. That implies a thorough approach. I've picked up on this requirement for throughness in many of the promotional articles for six sigma.

  • Who is pertinent to walk a process? Would they need to understand the tools, trends & expectation of that process? what about worker expeimentation & improvisations to gain improvement not yet matured or measured? How would you validate identification (did you identify correctly)?

  • This is about identifying opportunities. A small cross functional team of 4-6. If additional folks are available, and the area is in need of work, send several teams and compare findings. Although this can be used as a stand alone tool, the Waste Walk is often combined with other tools. Regarding training, I would recommend a short training for all who would be part of the Walk ... they need to understand the 8 different inefficiencies that exist. Good Luck!

  • I've heard of Safety Walks ... wow ... now we have a Waste Walk! Sounds like a plan. Thanks!!!
