I respect what you are saying but it wont be too long until we start winning silverware. Torres is an unreliable striker and injury prone. No way was he worth 50M, maybe 35-40M maximum. In 2007-2009 he was worth 50M, but now when he doesn't get his own way he sulks and puts the whole team on a downer because you have to rely on that striker to get you goals. I feel Chelsea will have to sign a few playmakers and another world class striker just encase, which would cost alot.

Ironically one of the best players to compliment torres was his replacement at liverpool suarez . Still i reckon aguero or neymar would do the trick although they will be pricey

Torres prefers to play alone up front so a playmaker will definatly be needed behind him, like when Gerrard used to play behind Torres. I think Lampard would be the only player at Chelsea who could do this, or Anelka but he could be leaving. I reckon Sturridge could be decent if Chelsea keep him aswell. Hulk from Porto would fit in nicely at Chelsea I reckon also, but I don't think he'll be leaving Porto.

However, though not worth 50 mil I'm confident he will score a few this season for Chelsea. Bit the difference is that they are young players (22 and 20 I believe) and have potential, they will, hopefully, reach that value through time. It's been proven that on the most part players reach their peaks at around 26. Torres is 27 so he should've hit his peak now. I reckon yes, next season he will score but he'll never be 20 a season again in my opinion. Carroll on the other hand, well, we'll see what 11/12 brings..
