werehog was boring overall but i actually fucking loved the werehog boss stages - i mean fucking hard and frustrating but fun and challenging!
otherwise it's a shame that sega mashed in such a clunky character with a game series defined by its speed ... the day stages by themselves could have redefined platforming if critics weren't so asshole-y about the night stages. :\
@whoamicrap Sonic isn't define by it's speed, it's defined by being a fast-paced platformer. The gameplay mechanic introduced in Sonic Unleashed is all about running, making platforming awkward and frustrating - not fun.
@whoamicrap It's not a matter of opinion anymore, one can obviously tell how Sonic lost it's 1st place on the gaming world because SEGA started to divide or focus on certain elements of his gameplay instead of wisely using then at once. with Sonic Adventure, all exploration was left to Knuckles, speed to Sonic and speed-based challenge to Tails. with Sonic Heroes, we were forced to play with every character in a boring way to finish it.
@whoamicrap with Sonic 2006, same deal as Adventure, but done even worst. and now with Sonic Unleashed, you just run, it's a mechanic built for running, doesn't work with platforming(as they shamelessly tried with Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations)
@MauriceOglivieJr Okay, if that's what you see as "obvious" here's what I see: you don't just run in sonic unleashed, you work with your senses at their most alert to keep your balance while making it to the goal in time. sure, it's not quite platforming as much, but it's a new form of excitement that stays true to sonic's speed motif. adventure was forced to find other ways of speedy gaming since sonic's classic style was proven to be flat out boring in 3D form with "Sonic 3D," (continuing)
@MauriceOglivieJr Sure, there may have been better ways to relaunch the series, who knows, but in my opinion it was well-conducted - the form of gameplay that is remembered most from Adventures, after all, is Sonic's - no one is immediately reminded of Knuckles or Tails's gameplay when the game is mentioned. And that's just my take on it - these ARE just opinions, really.
@whoamicrap Well if you're going to have negative opinions, get the fuck out, because I'm a fan of all forms of gameplay, they are fun. The fact you insult Colors and Generations clearly means you don't like the game, nor do you like the series. We don't give a shit. Let us have fun with our game.
Dont see what the problem is I actually like Night stages...
Gave me time to work on button mashing and killing amazing looking enemies with tons of amazing combos and attacks. Overall i found them Challenging.
Daytime Stages were Fun,Fast,And AMAZING in detail.I think the game was pretty good with both Slow Paced fighting and High Speed running. You dont like me for it Whatever bro.
@ScootinFruity Here's the thing though. Once you complete the Night Stages you never have to play them again so you didn't need to sell the game. The Wii and PS2 had even worse night stages.
@Creeperkid14 No I don't. Pay attention to my sentence numb nuts. I said the Wii and PS2 versions of this game were worse. Also the PS3 version of Unleashed has a crappy frame rate that drops very often. The 360 has a nice cutscene when you wait until day or night.
@mbonessi77 Yes. and I expected much. I expected MUCH of the werehog stages but it really sucked... it's like 3D platforming, but with horrible jumps and punches. I got Mario for my jumping and platforming action!
This game sucked. It got bad reviews and it deserved them. Get over it sonic fanboys and stop defending this shitpile along with the black knight which was even worse.
Sonic generations on the other hand looks like its gonna be great
@CodyTheDog Hurr durr. Me want to run fast in sawnik gaems. fiteing is rong in sawnik gaems. how dare tehy make sawnik do something new and in-o-vate-ive. me want same crap over nd over again. <-- Your comment in a nutshell. This and Black Knight were amazing games that did something new. Colors and Generations are repetitive crap. Stop living in the past.
Seriously I can point out a ton of bad points for sonic and the black knight and werehog but you probably wouldnt listen...I suppose you hate mario because its repetitive too right? Fag
@Cody From a guy named Cody, I'd expect you to be stupid."I dont care if something is different I care if its fucking shit" Uh, yeah, bullshit. The Werehog had more than 30 moves and attacks. The main part of the Werehog, combat, was amazing. The only shit you'd bring is "clunky", "slow" and "boring". Clunky is code for one who can't play the game, slow for it's genre, it's not. And boring with 30 moves? So I'm not a zombie to the most simplistic game series ever made and that makes ME the fag?
@vgman94 30 moves isnt a lot. The combat was "amazing"? Are you fucking kidding me? Try comparing that to some good 3d action games like dmc and gow and then say it was amazing. /watch?v=Gb58tb9TZNA&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLB19D87B86E01138A This was from a quick search. This is far from amazing. Yeah, nah. You're a fag. Sonic is a high speed platformer first and foremost. Thats how it stays and thats what it needs to be. They finally got their shit together with generations.
@CodyTheDog I counted the number of attacks in God of War 2. It was slightly less than that of the Werehog. You're the fag. Sonic is not solely a high-speed platformer. That's the main point. Sonic was never meant to stick to those roots nor be something that simple or unimaginative later on. That's not how it should stay. Staying the same means we know EXACTLY what we'll get the next sequel. There'll be no surprises, no new gameplay to learn, nothing. You're the fag. A retrofag at that.
@vgman94 Also, let me address black knight. You can beat a fucking level with your eyes closed. No im not kidding. What the fuck /watch?v=VUY4xbmOZ9Y ... Also, How would I be stupid because thats my name? Even if it was, its not my name. Its my dogs name.
@CodyTheDog Also, sinc eyuou're throwing out URLs in attempts to elongate your dick, I might as well give one of my own: watch?v=nPyOGd6VPbQ
This is the Werehog's entire moveset. More than what God of War 2 has, but just slightly less than 3. As for your username, I know a guy named Cody who's also a retrofag. An extremely shallow one at that. I'm having trouble deciding who is worse, but as far as I can tell, you're not as dumb as him. My apologies to your dog though. He's just a bystandard.
@vgman94 Elongate my dick? Are you serious? God of war 2 is a last gen game. You are aware god of war has 4 melee weapons per game excluding 1? And other various weapons as well like a bow. Along with finishers and juggles. Upgrades. Magic attacks. You didnt even say anything about dmc so you lose there. . People always start namecalling when they are losing an argument... Names have no link in intelligence. If you named einstein retard mcshit pants hed still be himself.
@CodyTheDog God of War 2 = 2007. Unleashed = 2008. They're closer than GOW3, which was released in 2010. I was including the side weapons such as the Barbarian Hammer in and Spear of Destiny which had only a handful of moves. I am not into, nor do I know anything about DMC, so I chose not to talk about it. It doesn't make me "lose" anything. No, people start namecalling because they're pissed off. If you think me losing my temper makes me lose by default, you're desperate.
@vgman94 Might I add all those moves seem extremely clunky. And unless this is some kind of training mode, the enemies look like they just line up to get killed. They all seem to have not much of a variety in attacks. If this game does not have difficulty selection there is probably no fix for this. Pretty much every single succesful gaming franchise does not continuously switch genres. Mario is a platformer. Cod is a shooter. Zelda is a puzzle/action adventure.
@CodyTheDog I agree on the enemies somewhat. The combat moves for the Werehog are far from clunky. They're meant to have open hitboxes. But every successful game has variety, no? Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and now with All 4 One, Ratchet & Clank all have variety in gameplay. Sonic always had some platforming. Aside from Secret Rings and Black Knight, the platforming had some form in there. Sonic however, focused on action more into the 3D games and the Adventure games were popular.
Because they know how the retrofags work. They think everything that is NOT speed is bad no matter how much work was put into it. You saw the vid. It takes a long time to make such moves, but did they get any praise? No. Even a interviewer from a gaming site said "it's good business dude", like he was trying to hide his displeasure. At least kids and real fans don't turn Sonic into a religion that says "Sonik iz all bout speed", they just enjoy the game for what it is, not what it "should" be.
@vgman94 You are in such denial about how bad this game is. I've beaten you in every argument and now you are just going back to name calling. This is just about over if you can't even back up what you say. It was a bad game. It was bad at what it did, other than the daytime sections. The metacritic shows this game is mediocre. Its only got a 60 because of the daytime sections, without that it would be 40s. And guess what. Sonic is all about speed, its kind of his trademark.
Very funny. So conveniently, the Day stages were good, coincidentally the part which has the traditional Sonic speed, yet everything else was bad. Pathetic. "Sonic is all about speed, its kind of his trademark". A trademark aspect shouldn't carry a whole game. Sonic is not about speed and it's obvious throughout the games. SEGA made games not wholely dedicated to speed and many of them. Guess what? Sonic is a franchise, not a racing genre. Franchises need more than one aspect in the main games.
@vgman94 Epic quote at the end. Sonic is the pure example of people seeing a franchise as a genre. ''Sonic is all about speed'', my ***. It's only his trademark, it doesn't mean it must be nothing else, especially when those retrofags forget that the old games weren't only about speed, they were about GIMMICKS(and after they ask to not have gimmicks? How ironic). Nintendo is just too lucky. Link can become a wolf but not Sonic, seriously...
@MegaGlassguy Sonic was a platformer and speed was the gimmick. YA HEAR THAT FANBOYS?! SPEED WAS THE ORIGINAL GIMMICK! If speed is a gimmick, why should any newer gimmicks be bad? A lot of Nintendo's gimmicks don't change the core gameplay, which makes it more repetitive. That's why they're praised. Because they leave the core intact. Sonic is more than just speed and that's why SEGA persisted for so long before giving up. Sonic would still be epic if it weren't for the fagboys.
@vgman94 Totally. If there's one thing even more sad than the retrofags, it's the Adventure nazis. They can take mech shooting, treasure hunting and even fishing but not a beat 'em up or whatever else came out after. Each I look at SA2, the so-called perfect Sonic game, I see everything people complained about in the new games, that makes them lose a lot of credibility.
@MegaGlassguy Their so-called "reasoning" is that the gimmicks weren't on Sonic, but other characters. Why the discrimination? And Sonic had some gimmicks there too. Their credibility is pathetic. I really Hope newcomers to Sonic are open to the "bad" games and realize how underrated they are. SA2 was a great game, but it wasn't perfect (no game is) and it's not even the best of Sonic except maybe in story (of which Black Knight is a close contender). The best of Sonic is right in this video.
@vgman94 I agree, SA2 was great but it's being overrated by the fags. As I know, most newcomers don't even know that the games are hated and just them play for fun. And I agree, even 06 is underrated(not great but definitely doesn't deserve to have been named worst game of the decade by screwattack), that game that's supposed to be ''a huge disappointment'' didn't disappoint me. Colors did, the so-called ''first good Sonic game since SA2''.
@MegaGlassguy The game (06) wasn't even unplayable. Superman 64 was unplayable, 06' was just alright. Colors was HORRIBLE. Bad voice acting for half the cast, very simple and repetitive gameplay (which would have happened to Unleashed without the Werehog), less-than impressive music unlike previous games. And the story and jokes were nearly unbearable. The game was shit. First good Sonic game my ass. It was the first BAD Sonic game since Sonic Shuffle.
@vgman94 True, it didn't even took me long to get used to the 06 controls, and unlike the majority I admit when I die because I suck instead of blaming the game or glitches(which I barely saw any). I agree about Colors, it became old very quickly, while I still play Unleashed from time to time. I would have tolerated the voices if it wasn't for the crappy dialogues, but even if there was no lame joke, I'd prefer the previous cast. I just hope Generations will have decent lines with no jokes...

@MegaGlassguy Yeah, a lot of times gamers like to blame the game instead of themselves. The dialogue plus the voices made it horrific. Hopefully. We don't need more crappy jokes on the Sonic series. Colors also had little replayability. A few "game worlds", but after that, we only had Super Sonic which really feels stale now, and some extra levels. Colors was all around crap.
@vgman94 True, Unleashed had more replayability for better levels plus DLC that I really enjoyed for both day and night plus the CDs, art books, video tapes and missions. The Super Sonic in regular level feature didn't impress me at all, you did the whole game and you get to replay while being invincible, having a good final boss like Dark Gaia is much better in my opinion. I have a bit more trust in Generations since Iizuka said he was working on it since Unleashed, so it should be better.
@Mega True. I never bought the DLC, but it looked epic. Exacttly. The art books, video tapes, records and etc are the side content I'm talking about. I agree. Super Sonic in the stages made it feel cheap and was nothing more than going slightly faster than normal. The epic final bosses we used to have like Dark Gaia, Metal Overlord and Solaris were far better. True. Although judging from a picture I just found, if one thing looks like crap, it seems like the story. It looks like another Colors.
@vgman94 I agree, I saw the picnic picture and it will most likely be a cheesy storyline, which I find sad since I heard story rumors that would have been epic if it was true. The real problem now is if there's cheap jokes or not. If there's none, I could already call it a step up from Colors, but there'll still be a long way to go.
@MegaGlassguy Yeah, the picnic thing is disappointing, but the jokes could make it even worse. Hopefully SEGA will keep some sense in. Sonic will have a long way to go before he regains the greatness he used to have. Hopefully fagboys will grow up and get tired of the same crap over and over and wake up to why SEGA innovated the games.
@vgman94 I agree. It's good to see Sonic's friends again after the fags' request to get rid of them all, but the idiotic writers might kill them. Hopefully, right now a bunch of people are whining for a new Adventure game but at the same time, they just want Adventure 2 clones forever ''because it was da best and all other sawneek games after sawcks''. That or they just want the freaking Chao Garden, hell some fags refuse to buy Generations if there's no Chao, can they be even more retarded?
@MegaGlassguy I hated that too. Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Amy and even Rouge and Omega were good character and I did like Silver. Blaze shouldn't be in Generations since she 'died' in 06'. I hate those Adventure fags. My GOD, enough with the "WE WANT SA3" crap. As much as those games were fun and had great gameplay, the best thing for an SA3 would be using gimmicks as alternate forms of gameplay like they used Tails/Knuckles and etc. But the SAssoles wouldn't like that, now would they?
@vgman94 Well technically, Blaze sealed herself in another dimension, which is how she got in the Sonic Rush series. It's true that the way it occurs make it look like she died but she's still alive. I agree, bringing back the mechs and treasure hunting is one thing, but to have exactly like in SA2 is not really impressive(more variety than Colors, but still not impressive), SA and SA2 were quite different so a SA3 should feature new things too(which is why I consider 06 as SA3).
@MegaGlassguy I know. That's why I put the ' in the word died. She died symbolically, but not actually. Yeah. Sonic Unleashed was the original SA3 and was worthy of the title. A bunch of moves and good platforming for the Werehog, epic speed for the Day stages, great side content and missions, epic soundtracks, cool bosses and more. It should be the SA3, but haters will hate. I agree with that. Blaze is still part of the series, but they should give a good explanation for her appearance.
@vgman94 (part 2)It featured many similarities such as the multiple stories, world hubs, obtainable upgrades, etc. At the same time though, SA3 could be completely different, they were thinking of SA3 when they did Unleashed. And I agree that Blaze isn't the best choice, but she still had her role and is still part of the series. ''WE WANT SA3'' crap is getting out of hand, I'd love to see that game but not if it's a freaking SA2 clone. I really hope they get back to innovation soon.
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) If SA3 actually innovates and does something new, maybe giving a homage to the gimmicks, it'd be great. Sonic innovating is what made him so fun. Repeating the same speed thing over and over is not good, no matter what retro retards and idiots like IGN say. There is no "Sonic" experience, it's a series and it should change with age like other franchises. Even if the change isn't related to the old formula a la Crash Bandicoot's Mutants, that doesn't mean the change is bad.
@vgman94 I agree, it's ridiculous how people has become. Like you said on the A4O video, gamers have gone soft, not the games. The first Sonic games were so simple that people consider anything else to be unplayable, that's how ridiculous it is. I'll give a point to Generations though:Planet Wisp might be decent this time, a pic got leaked and it looked good. They also leaked a cutscene pic that was pretty strange, perhaps it won't be too too shitty since it wasn't cheesy at all.
@MegaGlassguy You saw that one, eh? Yeah. The first Sonic games weren't even that good because they were simple. More is not less and less is not more in gaming. More is more and less is less as is with video game franchises, their origins (less) and their sequels (more). They leaked a piece of a cutscene? Oh God, please don't let it be shitty! PLEASE! I KNEW IT! Shadow would be a clone of Sonic in Unleashed Day form. YES! And I agree about that,. It'll be good or decent, but not great.
@vgman94 Yeah, I was watching the trailer for single player and its like a habit for me to check the comments and I saw your answer to the guy saying that R&C got soft. I hope the story is not shitty, the pic was showing Modern in the middle of nowhere, standing in front of a water-surface looking mirror with Classic on the other side, that leaves me quite perplex 0_0 I agree, the fact that Shadow is like a clone means they'll be on equal status like SA2, which should be interesting.
@MegaGlassguy It looks like Sonic is perplexed as well. It looked good. It's also a habit of mine. I use YouTube for forums now than videos anymore. That was the meaning of Shadow as a character: A rival of equal power, so it makes sense to recreate the battle in the same way with the same meaning. The Time Eater looked like the Destory from Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and the Death Egg looks less badass than I had Hoped. Agreed completely on the Werehog and Egg Dragoon.
@vgman94 Yeah, I'll have to see how Death Egg works but it sure isn't what I had in mind either. Shadow looks promising enough since they are equal again. They showed Sky Sanctuary for TGS and it looked good. I guess the fact that they use Sonic history makes up a bit unlike Colors, but I definitely hope that there's a minimum somewhere for innovation, most of my hope now is on the co-op missions and the mini-games you play as Sonic's friends that got mentioned at Gamescom.
@MegaGlassguy And Shadow looks like he might be even more epic. I wonder if they'll bring back Chaos Spear and Chaos Control. That's true. The co-op and side characters to play as may be a minor saving grace for the game. Classic Werehog would be a dream of mine. Why? Because that'd mean the Werehog is acknowledged as a good idea, which is why the "classic" would be in it. I know. Haters will never let the gimmicks be praised for what they are: Innovative. They just want the same....
@vgman94 (part 2)I hope the gimmicks are at least acknowledged if not used, but the only way to make the game better would be to have use of everything like I was saying on the video, and just like the stages, you could have a remastered gimmick(Werehog with different moves)and a re-invented one(Classic Werehog which could be similar to Ristar with a few punch moves and acrobatics), and at the end to have a totally new final stage with old and never seen before gimmicks, it sadly won't happen.
@MegaGlassguy (part 3)After all, people are just selfish and stuck in the past when it comes to Sonic. How come Pac-Man had Pac-Man world and recently Pac-Man Party and no one complained? It's nothing like the old game. Discrimination against animals or what? The old games were good for their time but today, going to the right and jumping endlessly is dull, and yet people call it ''the return of good Sonic'', these idiots just can't accept that in 2011, innovation is important.
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2)... Shit over and over again with no innovation. Just repetition and a repeat of the same crap we've seen for a decade. It's disgusting, it's childish and selfish against smart gamers and the developers. Pac Man Party is a spin-off, so it's an exemption. World was like Mario 64. A 3D version of Pac Man in an adventure setting, but it was different from the original, so ??? That's what I thought. Animal characters get crapped on, but humans (Mario) get off scot free...
@MegaGlassguy (3)... Much like in real life, actually. I completely agree. The old games were perfectly fine and fun in their day, but today, we need bigger and better things and the franchises deserve bigger and better titles with better ideas. "Good Sonic" was good in 1991-1997. Now it's subpar. The sad thing is IGN and other idiots will probably give it a 9. :/ The only good games I'm really looking forward to these days are Prototype 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Batman: Arkham City.
@vgman94 I agree, idiots will probably be drooling over it, and yet some are still whining that ''Modarn shuld die cuz Classic rox and he shuld be here farever'', it's beyond pathetic to see how much fucking nostalgia ruined their lives. People saying those things are like what? 30 year-old? Never seen such retards. Generations should be decent, good at best but definitely not amazing unless there are very good twists that are hidden now(though I don't have much hope for that).
@MegaGlassguy 30-year-olds... My friend RadicalCrash once told me a 40-year-old said to a speaker during 2008's E3 that they'll "never get it right". A 40-year-old. I agree. Unless real gimmicks come to light, there's not much Hope for this game. By the way, have you seen the new trailer shown at TGS? It's called the "News Levels" trailer.
@vgman94 40-year old living in the past, nostalgia strikes again -_- It's a miracle I didn't become like them since I played those games as a kid. Yeah I saw the trailer for the Genesis stages, Sky Sanctuary is the one they changed most so far but I can't complain, the original barely looked like a sanctuary. Gameplay= 0 so far. Level design= 4/5 I'd say, they really seem to take advantage of the places. If only we'd get something new with those now... At the very least, Modern should get the
@MegaGlassguy It makes me think that I was lucky too, but I always knew they were going to be different. As I grew up, I expected the games to grow up too. But retrofags just can't stand games changing despite they themselves changing. 0? LOL. Even I give them gameplay a 2 or 3. Oddly enough, seeing gameplay of both, I actually think the Classic Sonic looks better. O_O The reason is because they're both speed-based, but CS has more interesting platforming IMO. But Modern has better speed
@vgman94 lol yeah I kinda made an error since I should at the very least give a 2, I'm not an IGN moron who calls everything pure crap. Yeah, Classic has better platforming and Modern has more dynamic sequences, at least those look good. Yeah, it was normal that it wouldn't be the same, even Mario had some changes when he became 3d. Now Nintendo is milking out that gameplay tough. Sonic tried many things and they surely are more to try. I heard they'd do games with classic or modern from now on.
@MegaGlassguy True. Some say Mario is alright because they come out with sequels seldomly, but that explanation doesn't cut it for me. Sonic can do so many things and the Classic games can be a subseries for a little while, but they'll need to come back to gimmicks sooner or later. Hopefully fagboys will wake up by then. Modern ruins Classic's image? LOL. The fagboys ruin Sonic's image. There is no classic or modern, just an older and younger Sonic. They were all great except for Colors.
@vgman94 I can't agree more, I'm fine for this time with the Classic gameplay but after it's more than time for new things. People complain that Sega doesn't treat Sonic well but it's Nintendo that don't treat Mario well. They don't let the games grow and bring up new concepts, Mario is merely reduced to rehashes all his life, although there has been a few exceptions like Luigi's Mansion. I agree, all games were good or great for their time except Colors.
@MegaGlassguy Agreed with Mario. Mario could be great, but it's just pathetic now and Sonic will be the same if the fagboys get their way. Yeah, Colors was exceptional. Exceptionally bad. Even 06' at least tried having a good story and the developers tried. Colors felt like they didn't try and put one or two nice ideas (Wisps and Super Sonic) in, but nothing else. I bet they worked more on Free Riders.
@vgman94 Yeah, I have Free Riders and I had more fun with it than Colors. Even though it's the third Riders game, the fact that you'd use Kinect made it actually pretty fun(although multiplayer is really unresponsive on local, it's much better online). Colors did have nice ideas but it was definitely not well exploited enough, while they tried with 06 and I really liked the ideas in it. Generations will most likely be better since the levels are good at least, but I hope that Sonic 4 episode 2
@MegaGlassguy If I could see the end of rehashes and see the return of the true Sonic spirit of gimmicks, my reaction could only be described as this: watch?v=vSkb0kDacjs ... The part at 0:16, specifically would describe my expression perfectly.
@vgman94 I agree, it would be amazing. Right now they're talking about doing ''a whole new adventure'' after Generations, I just hope it's the return of gimmicks. Generations could be okay for a celebration game, a stand-alone title, but after they definitely won't be anything else than the fagbrats to block their road. I really hope they shut up with their stupid hate ''x doesn't belong in Sonic'' all the time. To quote Ergo from Unleashed, ''Nobody likes a whiner''.
@MegaGlassguy Me too. Generations would be a good exception for the 20th anniversary, but nothing more. Most of the stuff that "doesn't belong in Sonic" fitted very well with Sonic (or Shadow in one instance).
@vgman94 So true. For them, anything that is new doesn't belong in Sonic, which is BS(like always). Now they're full of themselves saying that ''we should be grateful that they gave us the first quality game since SA2 that is Colors'', BS once again. Shorter than Black Knight(which ironically got hated for being short), easier than all the other games, worst story by far and so on. But there's nothing new so it's gold quality to their eyes, and claim that their ''critics'' saves the franchise.
@vgman94 (part 2)It's ridiculous, REAL critics can help, like saying that the guns would need more polishing when it comes to shooting the enemies(perhaps add a first-person mode to stand still and shoot accurately before continuing)or that the level-up system in Heroes was a good idea that could be exploited more, etc. There was nothing wrong in adding all the new things, it made the series unique. They could even try to bring back some of them in a different way to make it new and better.
@vgman94 New things really fitted well indeed. Yeah, Generations is a good exception for the 20th anniversary but that's it. The levels look really good, they showed a bit more of Chemical Plant, Seaside Hill and Rooftop Run at TGS as well as the remix for each. Gameplay:average, it works but it's not original. Levels:great, lots of stuff and there's many pathways, and the fact that they use the whole history is good. Music:quite a variety, from the Chemical Plant rock/techno remix to the...
@MegaGlassguy All 4 One will be great. The gameplay is much like the old Ratchet & Clank yet quite different with it's new gameplay and is a nice take on team-work mechanics. Last time I saw puzzle mechanics that used multiple players was in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and it only used 2 players. Rooftop Run's soundtrack has been released? Nice. The gameplay is just too simple. Sonic had higher standards before, even with the SA games which had good variety. Sonic shouldn't be Mario.
@vgman94 True, Sonic was even meant to be the anti-Mario character. Sonic was about attitude, innovation and sophistication, not rehashes, speed and simplicity. Yeah, gameplay is way too simple, although I really like the way they did the levels so at the very least there should be good levels in the game, though that it definitely won't beat the innovative era games(1998-2009)unless there are new and fun things. Yeah, the Rooftop Run remix has been released for Modern, it's pretty good.
Exactly. He is supposed to be the anti-Mario and he did a great job at it. Sonic's originally and only consistent gimmick is speed, which is fine. But speed isn't the sole thing Sonic should be about. 1998-2009... Man, I miss those times. I can't believe games like Metal Gear Solid can change through sequels so much and get praise solely for keeping the core formula despite making it feel very different while others like Sonic get bashed for new things? The gaming community need to grow up, no?
@vgman94 Yeah, Sonic has speed but it's not only about that. 98-09...I really miss those times too, that's when I got hooked in the series and had the most fun. True, it's strange how come some series can get away with change but not Sonic, Crash or Spyro. On a side, it's good to know that not every franchise is corrupted by anti-innovation but the community definitely needs to grow up. No series would be as great if it did the same thing for 10, 15, 20, 30 years.
@MG 10 years is a good cut off point since Crash and Spyro changed roughly around that time period, but 15 years is pushing it and more than that with the same damn formula is just.... No. Ratchet & Clank has gotten the same treatment as Legend of Spyro: 40-50% of the fanbase accepts it, the others hate it. Interestingly, both franchises were created by Insomniac Games. Crash and Sonic have it worse with horrible fans and mindless idiots. I'm fighting a Sonic idiot right now on a Heroes video...
@vgman94 I agree that 10 years would be mostly the limit and after it's just too much.True,it's strange how people don't accept them especially A4O since it still has the same formula at some points.Yeah,Sonic and Crash are in the same boat, although Crash hasn't gone retro(and truly downhill)yet like Sonic did last year because of the idiotic fans.Heroes...the beginning of decline for the fanbase's IQ.I admit that every team shouldn't go in the same levels but still, team gameplay was fun.
@MegaGlassguy My point was that All 4 One has at least some positive comments on it as with Legend of Spyro. Sonic and Crash are in worse areas since Sonic was destroyed by the fans and Crash has been in hiatus due to fagboys' hatred. I agree. The levels should've been different, but the team gameplay was fun. A few more differences between the teams would have been good too.
@vgman94 True, I guess Insomniac got better fans. It's sad but Sonic and Crash do have it much worse, the levels and co-op missions might be a small saving for Generations to make it better than Colors, but it still has a long way to go. Hopefully the same won't happen to Crash, bringing back old stuff for the future games is good but ps1 clones? Not really. Yeah, more differences between the teams and different levels would have been better, but the team gameplay itself was fun and good.
MGguy Insomniac's franchises are rather lucky. They have die-hard fans who can see good games more often than others. Crash has it the worse per capita, with more retrofags who are more rabid than Sonic's. Sonic's by comparison is nearly as bad, but AT LEAST each game has it's own fanbase. I heard that Unleashed had the biggest "community" of the series. I agree. The bazooka, Crystals and Gems (upgrades and unlockable moves for Crash & Titans) would be great for Crash, but not the whole formula.
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) I have had so many ideas for Crash. The formula of Radical is basically digital clay. Many ideas could be added to the concept, but the budget and time was far from adequate enough to allow them to save the series. If Activision gave them more budget and time, we'd have a Crash game with critical acclaim and if Spyro had more polish, we'd still have TLOS. I'm excited to see All 4 One because it's a new concept that HAS gotten it's needed time, unlike Crash and Spyro.
@vgman94 True, they are many games that don't come as expected because of the lack of time and budget, it is sad because a lot of them had huge potential and we can clearly see it when we play them. Radical did great but they could have done even better. I agree, A4O had the time it needed and will be great.

@vgman94 (part 2)beautiful Rooftop Run one. At least not everything is gone, Generations is closer than ever to beat Colors, but not the other games. All 4 One, there's nothing to say about it. It will be great, period.
@vgman94 (part)At the very least it could have the retrofags suck their dick while others can appreciate Modern games but still, they'll most likely complain some bullshit like ''Modern ruins Classic's image'' or idiocies like that -_-
@vgman94 (part 2)respect he deserved in these last 10 years, 12 in some cases. Not for the right reasons sadly, but he should get the respect he deserved, a respect that should have never been lost by those idiots.
@MegaGlassguy (2) and levels with more dynamic sequences. Such as the City Escape level. True. Modern Sonic will only be appreciated from the speed, not the gimmicks, not the innovations or stories or any of tht. Just "Sawnik runnin' fast! WEEEEE!!" -_-
@vgman94 (part 2)They also showed a ''Death Egg'' boss(last boss of Sonic 2)pic and it look like a platformer boss, and a pic of the SA2 Shadow battle which is a boss ala-daytime Unleashed, with Shadow using boost too. Finally, there has been a small Time Eater pic leaked which shows its face. I'll give a fair chance to the game but I must already give a low score to gameplay so far since it's rehashed. I expect Gen to be decent but nothing more.
@vgman94 (part 3)I agree. Innovation and variety makes it much more fun, hell at this point I'd ever accept the return of Big if they can give him-huge-improvement, I really hope that the 3rd Storybook is really in work, at least that would leave us with something if it's to stay rehash for long...
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) Hopefully SEGA will work on gimmicks with the storybook series a little. The Death Egg looked bad in the original, but I REALLY want to see the new version. Maybe the Egg Dragoon too.
@vgman94 (part 2)Yeah, Death Egg looked quite different. He's bigger, looks more like an Eggman mech and the pic basically shows him in the background and Classic jumping on platforms, nothing of that was in the original which should make the battle interesting. I want to see how they did Egg Dragoon too, really hope the Werehog would kick his ass again, the battle, scenery and the way the Werehog ended the battle by throwing Eggman away is what made the boss memorable.
لعبة حلو جدااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااا
So people who thought that new guy for sonic colors had a better voice than griffin can go throw themselves down an air shaft because serisouley I know the approach sega was trying to do with sonic colors but they screwed it up in the process I'm sorry but it's not right better luck next time sega
No offense sonic colors sucked in voices also the story didnt quite seem engough and plus sonic and tails voices are different and sonic has dialogue during a boss battle where he mentions copyright freakin copyright and even more puns like he made a bet with tails for money and omg it's just awful I loved the gameplay and the bosses for sonic colors but the voices sucked cause they aren't the same!!
@RandomDude90001 I know THAT, I had the 360 version and LOVED the daytime levels! In my opinion, the Werehog levels were good, but the daytime levels were MUCH better, because they were fast and fun, and felt more like Sonic. I only meant the Werehog as a character! XD
@TrueBlue170 he was too slow he such a downer after going to those fast badass day stages.then you sloooooooooooooow down to wolf sonic and play a puzzle game it was annoying. i hoped for the day and cursed the night
@HappySealProductions Heh, I'm just talking about the character, not the gameplay! XD The day stages were WAAAAAAY better. The night stages were...okay, but didn't feel like Sonic. Luckily they made Sonic Colours, which is like Unleashed without the Werehog.
@spartz117 You have a closed mind, my friend. But yes, has some weird and kinda hard gameplay. But, at last, he puts the plataform in the game. The part of Sonic is just speed.
those 3D Hubs , Tails plane almost every thing except graphic and speed could have been added on the wii version but sega decided to do a PS2 Version.
Prove that the wii disk is capable for the 3D hubs/Missing Stages/Tails on plan that
The xbox360 version is 6 GB Size
The wii version is 4 GB Size
The Wii Can Handle up to 8 GB Games on a Different Type of Wii Disks called dual layered Which their Sizes are 8.5 GB. not too much game creators uses those disks thought , 1 or 2 games used those.
yeh but you dont understand that this game is not a wii game, the wii version was just a quick remake to make money out of lost sales on the hd consoles.
Sonic unleashed is a 360 game not one of the BIG wii games like ssbb or smg.
Fucking Awesome Game.
Screw the Haters

werehog was boring overall but i actually fucking loved the werehog boss stages - i mean fucking hard and frustrating but fun and challenging!
otherwise it's a shame that sega mashed in such a clunky character with a game series defined by its speed ... the day stages by themselves could have redefined platforming if critics weren't so asshole-y about the night stages. :\
whoamicrap 1 month ago
@whoamicrap Sonic isn't define by it's speed, it's defined by being a fast-paced platformer. The gameplay mechanic introduced in Sonic Unleashed is all about running, making platforming awkward and frustrating - not fun.
MauriceOglivieJr 1 month ago
@MauriceOglivieJr meh everyone has their opinions
whoamicrap 1 month ago
@whoamicrap It's not a matter of opinion anymore, one can obviously tell how Sonic lost it's 1st place on the gaming world because SEGA started to divide or focus on certain elements of his gameplay instead of wisely using then at once. with Sonic Adventure, all exploration was left to Knuckles, speed to Sonic and speed-based challenge to Tails. with Sonic Heroes, we were forced to play with every character in a boring way to finish it.
MauriceOglivieJr 1 month ago
@whoamicrap with Sonic 2006, same deal as Adventure, but done even worst. and now with Sonic Unleashed, you just run, it's a mechanic built for running, doesn't work with platforming(as they shamelessly tried with Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations)
MauriceOglivieJr 1 month ago
@MauriceOglivieJr Okay, if that's what you see as "obvious" here's what I see: you don't just run in sonic unleashed, you work with your senses at their most alert to keep your balance while making it to the goal in time. sure, it's not quite platforming as much, but it's a new form of excitement that stays true to sonic's speed motif. adventure was forced to find other ways of speedy gaming since sonic's classic style was proven to be flat out boring in 3D form with "Sonic 3D," (continuing)
whoamicrap 1 month ago
@MauriceOglivieJr Sure, there may have been better ways to relaunch the series, who knows, but in my opinion it was well-conducted - the form of gameplay that is remembered most from Adventures, after all, is Sonic's - no one is immediately reminded of Knuckles or Tails's gameplay when the game is mentioned. And that's just my take on it - these ARE just opinions, really.
whoamicrap 1 month ago
@whoamicrap Well if you're going to have negative opinions, get the fuck out, because I'm a fan of all forms of gameplay, they are fun. The fact you insult Colors and Generations clearly means you don't like the game, nor do you like the series. We don't give a shit. Let us have fun with our game.

@YoYoKirby1 ... i did not insult colors or generations, i did not even play colors yet and i loved generations. wrong person, dude :\

Day stages : Amazing, great, fun
Night stages made me sell the game. I hat ethem so much, but the game is solid without them
ScootinFruity 2 months ago
@ScootinFruity Here's the thing though. Once you complete the Night Stages you never have to play them again so you didn't need to sell the game. The Wii and PS2 had even worse night stages.

Creeperkid14 1 month ago
@Creeperkid14 No I don't. Pay attention to my sentence numb nuts. I said the Wii and PS2 versions of this game were worse. Also the PS3 version of Unleashed has a crappy frame rate that drops very often. The 360 has a nice cutscene when you wait until day or night.
CrimsonVermillioneye 1 month ago
@mbonessi77 Yes. and I expected much. I expected MUCH of the werehog stages but it really sucked... it's like 3D platforming, but with horrible jumps and punches. I got Mario for my jumping and platforming action!
but I do like some of the REAL Sonic stages

@CodyTheDog Hurr durr. Me want to run fast in sawnik gaems. fiteing is rong in sawnik gaems. how dare tehy make sawnik do something new and in-o-vate-ive. me want same crap over nd over again. <-- Your comment in a nutshell. This and Black Knight were amazing games that did something new. Colors and Generations are repetitive crap. Stop living in the past.
vgman94 7 months ago
@vgman94 I dont care if something is different
I care if its fucking shit
Seriously I can point out a ton of bad points for sonic and the black knight and werehog but you probably wouldnt listen...I suppose you hate mario because its repetitive too right? Fag
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
@Cody From a guy named Cody, I'd expect you to be stupid."I dont care if something is different I care if its fucking shit" Uh, yeah, bullshit. The Werehog had more than 30 moves and attacks. The main part of the Werehog, combat, was amazing. The only shit you'd bring is "clunky", "slow" and "boring". Clunky is code for one who can't play the game, slow for it's genre, it's not. And boring with 30 moves? So I'm not a zombie to the most simplistic game series ever made and that makes ME the fag?
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 30 moves isnt a lot. The combat was "amazing"? Are you fucking kidding me? Try comparing that to some good 3d action games like dmc and gow and then say it was amazing. /watch?v=Gb58tb9TZNA&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLB19D87B86E01138A This was from a quick search. This is far from amazing. Yeah, nah. You're a fag. Sonic is a high speed platformer first and foremost. Thats how it stays and thats what it needs to be. They finally got their shit together with generations.
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
@CodyTheDog I counted the number of attacks in God of War 2. It was slightly less than that of the Werehog. You're the fag. Sonic is not solely a high-speed platformer. That's the main point. Sonic was never meant to stick to those roots nor be something that simple or unimaginative later on. That's not how it should stay. Staying the same means we know EXACTLY what we'll get the next sequel. There'll be no surprises, no new gameplay to learn, nothing. You're the fag. A retrofag at that.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 Also, let me address black knight. You can beat a fucking level with your eyes closed. No im not kidding. What the fuck /watch?v=VUY4xbmOZ9Y ... Also, How would I be stupid because thats my name? Even if it was, its not my name. Its my dogs name.
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
@CodyTheDog Also, sinc eyuou're throwing out URLs in attempts to elongate your dick, I might as well give one of my own: watch?v=nPyOGd6VPbQ
This is the Werehog's entire moveset. More than what God of War 2 has, but just slightly less than 3. As for your username, I know a guy named Cody who's also a retrofag. An extremely shallow one at that. I'm having trouble deciding who is worse, but as far as I can tell, you're not as dumb as him. My apologies to your dog though. He's just a bystandard.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 Elongate my dick? Are you serious? God of war 2 is a last gen game. You are aware god of war has 4 melee weapons per game excluding 1? And other various weapons as well like a bow. Along with finishers and juggles. Upgrades. Magic attacks. You didnt even say anything about dmc so you lose there. . People always start namecalling when they are losing an argument... Names have no link in intelligence. If you named einstein retard mcshit pants hed still be himself.
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
@CodyTheDog God of War 2 = 2007. Unleashed = 2008. They're closer than GOW3, which was released in 2010. I was including the side weapons such as the Barbarian Hammer in and Spear of Destiny which had only a handful of moves. I am not into, nor do I know anything about DMC, so I chose not to talk about it. It doesn't make me "lose" anything. No, people start namecalling because they're pissed off. If you think me losing my temper makes me lose by default, you're desperate.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 Might I add all those moves seem extremely clunky. And unless this is some kind of training mode, the enemies look like they just line up to get killed. They all seem to have not much of a variety in attacks. If this game does not have difficulty selection there is probably no fix for this. Pretty much every single succesful gaming franchise does not continuously switch genres. Mario is a platformer. Cod is a shooter. Zelda is a puzzle/action adventure.
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
@CodyTheDog I agree on the enemies somewhat. The combat moves for the Werehog are far from clunky. They're meant to have open hitboxes. But every successful game has variety, no? Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and now with All 4 One, Ratchet & Clank all have variety in gameplay. Sonic always had some platforming. Aside from Secret Rings and Black Knight, the platforming had some form in there. Sonic however, focused on action more into the 3D games and the Adventure games were popular.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 and in the sonic unleashed demo they didnt even include a night time level. They knew it was gonna drive people away
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
Because they know how the retrofags work. They think everything that is NOT speed is bad no matter how much work was put into it. You saw the vid. It takes a long time to make such moves, but did they get any praise? No. Even a interviewer from a gaming site said "it's good business dude", like he was trying to hide his displeasure. At least kids and real fans don't turn Sonic into a religion that says "Sonik iz all bout speed", they just enjoy the game for what it is, not what it "should" be.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 You are in such denial about how bad this game is. I've beaten you in every argument and now you are just going back to name calling. This is just about over if you can't even back up what you say. It was a bad game. It was bad at what it did, other than the daytime sections. The metacritic shows this game is mediocre. Its only got a 60 because of the daytime sections, without that it would be 40s. And guess what. Sonic is all about speed, its kind of his trademark.
CodyTheDog 6 months ago
Franchises need more than one aspect in the main games.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 Epic quote at the end. Sonic is the pure example of people seeing a franchise as a genre. ''Sonic is all about speed'', my ***. It's only his trademark, it doesn't mean it must be nothing else, especially when those retrofags forget that the old games weren't only about speed, they were about GIMMICKS(and after they ask to not have gimmicks? How ironic). Nintendo is just too lucky. Link can become a wolf but not Sonic, seriously...
MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Sonic was a platformer and speed was the gimmick. YA HEAR THAT FANBOYS?! SPEED WAS THE ORIGINAL GIMMICK! If speed is a gimmick, why should any newer gimmicks be bad? A lot of Nintendo's gimmicks don't change the core gameplay, which makes it more repetitive. That's why they're praised. Because they leave the core intact. Sonic is more than just speed and that's why SEGA persisted for so long before giving up. Sonic would still be epic if it weren't for the fagboys.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 Totally. If there's one thing even more sad than the retrofags, it's the Adventure nazis. They can take mech shooting, treasure hunting and even fishing but not a beat 'em up or whatever else came out after. Each I look at SA2, the so-called perfect Sonic game, I see everything people complained about in the new games, that makes them lose a lot of credibility.
MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Their so-called "reasoning" is that the gimmicks weren't on Sonic, but other characters. Why the discrimination? And Sonic had some gimmicks there too. Their credibility is pathetic. I really Hope newcomers to Sonic are open to the "bad" games and realize how underrated they are. SA2 was a great game, but it wasn't perfect (no game is) and it's not even the best of Sonic except maybe in story (of which Black Knight is a close contender). The best of Sonic is right in this video.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 I agree, SA2 was great but it's being overrated by the fags. As I know, most newcomers don't even know that the games are hated and just them play for fun. And I agree, even 06 is underrated(not great but definitely doesn't deserve to have been named worst game of the decade by screwattack), that game that's supposed to be ''a huge disappointment'' didn't disappoint me. Colors did, the so-called ''first good Sonic game since SA2''.
MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
@MegaGlassguy The game (06) wasn't even unplayable. Superman 64 was unplayable, 06' was just alright. Colors was HORRIBLE. Bad voice acting for half the cast, very simple and repetitive gameplay (which would have happened to Unleashed without the Werehog), less-than impressive music unlike previous games. And the story and jokes were nearly unbearable. The game was shit. First good Sonic game my ass. It was the first BAD Sonic game since Sonic Shuffle.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 True, it didn't even took me long to get used to the 06 controls, and unlike the majority I admit when I die because I suck instead of blaming the game or glitches(which I barely saw any). I agree about Colors, it became old very quickly, while I still play Unleashed from time to time. I would have tolerated the voices if it wasn't for the crappy dialogues, but even if there was no lame joke, I'd prefer the previous cast. I just hope Generations will have decent lines with no jokes...

MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Yeah, a lot of times gamers like to blame the game instead of themselves. The dialogue plus the voices made it horrific. Hopefully. We don't need more crappy jokes on the Sonic series. Colors also had little replayability. A few "game worlds", but after that, we only had Super Sonic which really feels stale now, and some extra levels. Colors was all around crap.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 True, Unleashed had more replayability for better levels plus DLC that I really enjoyed for both day and night plus the CDs, art books, video tapes and missions. The Super Sonic in regular level feature didn't impress me at all, you did the whole game and you get to replay while being invincible, having a good final boss like Dark Gaia is much better in my opinion. I have a bit more trust in Generations since Iizuka said he was working on it since Unleashed, so it should be better.
MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
It looks like another Colors.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 I agree, I saw the picnic picture and it will most likely be a cheesy storyline, which I find sad since I heard story rumors that would have been epic if it was true. The real problem now is if there's cheap jokes or not. If there's none, I could already call it a step up from Colors, but there'll still be a long way to go.
MegaGlassguy 6 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Yeah, the picnic thing is disappointing, but the jokes could make it even worse. Hopefully SEGA will keep some sense in. Sonic will have a long way to go before he regains the greatness he used to have. Hopefully fagboys will grow up and get tired of the same crap over and over and wake up to why SEGA innovated the games.
vgman94 6 months ago
@vgman94 I agree. It's good to see Sonic's friends again after the fags' request to get rid of them all, but the idiotic writers might kill them. Hopefully, right now a bunch of people are whining for a new Adventure game but at the same time, they just want Adventure 2 clones forever ''because it was da best and all other sawneek games after sawcks''. That or they just want the freaking Chao Garden, hell some fags refuse to buy Generations if there's no Chao, can they be even more retarded?
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy I hated that too. Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Amy and even Rouge and Omega were good character and I did like Silver. Blaze shouldn't be in Generations since she 'died' in 06'. I hate those Adventure fags. My GOD, enough with the "WE WANT SA3" crap. As much as those games were fun and had great gameplay, the best thing for an SA3 would be using gimmicks as alternate forms of gameplay like they used Tails/Knuckles and etc. But the SAssoles wouldn't like that, now would they?
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 Well technically, Blaze sealed herself in another dimension, which is how she got in the Sonic Rush series. It's true that the way it occurs make it look like she died but she's still alive. I agree, bringing back the mechs and treasure hunting is one thing, but to have exactly like in SA2 is not really impressive(more variety than Colors, but still not impressive), SA and SA2 were quite different so a SA3 should feature new things too(which is why I consider 06 as SA3).
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy I know. That's why I put the ' in the word died. She died symbolically, but not actually. Yeah. Sonic Unleashed was the original SA3 and was worthy of the title. A bunch of moves and good platforming for the Werehog, epic speed for the Day stages, great side content and missions, epic soundtracks, cool bosses and more. It should be the SA3, but haters will hate. I agree with that. Blaze is still part of the series, but they should give a good explanation for her appearance.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)It featured many similarities such as the multiple stories, world hubs, obtainable upgrades, etc. At the same time though, SA3 could be completely different, they were thinking of SA3 when they did Unleashed. And I agree that Blaze isn't the best choice, but she still had her role and is still part of the series. ''WE WANT SA3'' crap is getting out of hand, I'd love to see that game but not if it's a freaking SA2 clone. I really hope they get back to innovation soon.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) If SA3 actually innovates and does something new, maybe giving a homage to the gimmicks, it'd be great. Sonic innovating is what made him so fun. Repeating the same speed thing over and over is not good, no matter what retro retards and idiots like IGN say. There is no "Sonic" experience, it's a series and it should change with age like other franchises. Even if the change isn't related to the old formula a la Crash Bandicoot's Mutants, that doesn't mean the change is bad.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 I agree, it's ridiculous how people has become. Like you said on the A4O video, gamers have gone soft, not the games. The first Sonic games were so simple that people consider anything else to be unplayable, that's how ridiculous it is. I'll give a point to Generations though:Planet Wisp might be decent this time, a pic got leaked and it looked good. They also leaked a cutscene pic that was pretty strange, perhaps it won't be too too shitty since it wasn't cheesy at all.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy You saw that one, eh? Yeah. The first Sonic games weren't even that good because they were simple. More is not less and less is not more in gaming. More is more and less is less as is with video game franchises, their origins (less) and their sequels (more). They leaked a piece of a cutscene? Oh God, please don't let it be shitty! PLEASE! I KNEW IT! Shadow would be a clone of Sonic in Unleashed Day form. YES! And I agree about that,. It'll be good or decent, but not great.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 Yeah, I was watching the trailer for single player and its like a habit for me to check the comments and I saw your answer to the guy saying that R&C got soft. I hope the story is not shitty, the pic was showing Modern in the middle of nowhere, standing in front of a water-surface looking mirror with Classic on the other side, that leaves me quite perplex 0_0 I agree, the fact that Shadow is like a clone means they'll be on equal status like SA2, which should be interesting.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy It looks like Sonic is perplexed as well. It looked good. It's also a habit of mine. I use YouTube for forums now than videos anymore. That was the meaning of Shadow as a character: A rival of equal power, so it makes sense to recreate the battle in the same way with the same meaning. The Time Eater looked like the Destory from Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and the Death Egg looks less badass than I had Hoped. Agreed completely on the Werehog and Egg Dragoon.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 Yeah, I'll have to see how Death Egg works but it sure isn't what I had in mind either. Shadow looks promising enough since they are equal again. They showed Sky Sanctuary for TGS and it looked good. I guess the fact that they use Sonic history makes up a bit unlike Colors, but I definitely hope that there's a minimum somewhere for innovation, most of my hope now is on the co-op missions and the mini-games you play as Sonic's friends that got mentioned at Gamescom.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy And Shadow looks like he might be even more epic. I wonder if they'll bring back Chaos Spear and Chaos Control. That's true. The co-op and side characters to play as may be a minor saving grace for the game. Classic Werehog would be a dream of mine. Why? Because that'd mean the Werehog is acknowledged as a good idea, which is why the "classic" would be in it. I know. Haters will never let the gimmicks be praised for what they are: Innovative. They just want the same....
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)I hope the gimmicks are at least acknowledged if not used, but the only way to make the game better would be to have use of everything like I was saying on the video, and just like the stages, you could have a remastered gimmick(Werehog with different moves)and a re-invented one(Classic Werehog which could be similar to Ristar with a few punch moves and acrobatics), and at the end to have a totally new final stage with old and never seen before gimmicks, it sadly won't happen.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (part 3)After all, people are just selfish and stuck in the past when it comes to Sonic. How come Pac-Man had Pac-Man world and recently Pac-Man Party and no one complained? It's nothing like the old game. Discrimination against animals or what? The old games were good for their time but today, going to the right and jumping endlessly is dull, and yet people call it ''the return of good Sonic'', these idiots just can't accept that in 2011, innovation is important.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2)... Shit over and over again with no innovation. Just repetition and a repeat of the same crap we've seen for a decade. It's disgusting, it's childish and selfish against smart gamers and the developers. Pac Man Party is a spin-off, so it's an exemption. World was like Mario 64. A 3D version of Pac Man in an adventure setting, but it was different from the original, so ??? That's what I thought. Animal characters get crapped on, but humans (Mario) get off scot free...
vgman94 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (3)... Much like in real life, actually. I completely agree. The old games were perfectly fine and fun in their day, but today, we need bigger and better things and the franchises deserve bigger and better titles with better ideas. "Good Sonic" was good in 1991-1997. Now it's subpar. The sad thing is IGN and other idiots will probably give it a 9. :/ The only good games I'm really looking forward to these days are Prototype 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Batman: Arkham City.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 I agree, idiots will probably be drooling over it, and yet some are still whining that ''Modarn shuld die cuz Classic rox and he shuld be here farever'', it's beyond pathetic to see how much fucking nostalgia ruined their lives. People saying those things are like what? 30 year-old? Never seen such retards. Generations should be decent, good at best but definitely not amazing unless there are very good twists that are hidden now(though I don't have much hope for that).
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy 30-year-olds... My friend RadicalCrash once told me a 40-year-old said to a speaker during 2008's E3 that they'll "never get it right". A 40-year-old. I agree. Unless real gimmicks come to light, there's not much Hope for this game. By the way, have you seen the new trailer shown at TGS? It's called the "News Levels" trailer.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 40-year old living in the past, nostalgia strikes again -_- It's a miracle I didn't become like them since I played those games as a kid. Yeah I saw the trailer for the Genesis stages, Sky Sanctuary is the one they changed most so far but I can't complain, the original barely looked like a sanctuary. Gameplay= 0 so far. Level design= 4/5 I'd say, they really seem to take advantage of the places. If only we'd get something new with those now... At the very least, Modern should get the
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy It makes me think that I was lucky too, but I always knew they were going to be different. As I grew up, I expected the games to grow up too. But retrofags just can't stand games changing despite they themselves changing. 0? LOL. Even I give them gameplay a 2 or 3. Oddly enough, seeing gameplay of both, I actually think the Classic Sonic looks better. O_O The reason is because they're both speed-based, but CS has more interesting platforming IMO. But Modern has better speed
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 lol yeah I kinda made an error since I should at the very least give a 2, I'm not an IGN moron who calls everything pure crap. Yeah, Classic has better platforming and Modern has more dynamic sequences, at least those look good. Yeah, it was normal that it wouldn't be the same, even Mario had some changes when he became 3d. Now Nintendo is milking out that gameplay tough. Sonic tried many things and they surely are more to try. I heard they'd do games with classic or modern from now on.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy True. Some say Mario is alright because they come out with sequels seldomly, but that explanation doesn't cut it for me. Sonic can do so many things and the Classic games can be a subseries for a little while, but they'll need to come back to gimmicks sooner or later. Hopefully fagboys will wake up by then. Modern ruins Classic's image? LOL. The fagboys ruin Sonic's image. There is no classic or modern, just an older and younger Sonic. They were all great except for Colors.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 I can't agree more, I'm fine for this time with the Classic gameplay but after it's more than time for new things. People complain that Sega doesn't treat Sonic well but it's Nintendo that don't treat Mario well. They don't let the games grow and bring up new concepts, Mario is merely reduced to rehashes all his life, although there has been a few exceptions like Luigi's Mansion. I agree, all games were good or great for their time except Colors.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Agreed with Mario. Mario could be great, but it's just pathetic now and Sonic will be the same if the fagboys get their way. Yeah, Colors was exceptional. Exceptionally bad. Even 06' at least tried having a good story and the developers tried. Colors felt like they didn't try and put one or two nice ideas (Wisps and Super Sonic) in, but nothing else. I bet they worked more on Free Riders.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 Yeah, I have Free Riders and I had more fun with it than Colors. Even though it's the third Riders game, the fact that you'd use Kinect made it actually pretty fun(although multiplayer is really unresponsive on local, it's much better online). Colors did have nice ideas but it was definitely not well exploited enough, while they tried with 06 and I really liked the ideas in it. Generations will most likely be better since the levels are good at least, but I hope that Sonic 4 episode 2
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy If I could see the end of rehashes and see the return of the true Sonic spirit of gimmicks, my reaction could only be described as this: watch?v=vSkb0kDacjs ... The part at 0:16, specifically would describe my expression perfectly.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 I agree, it would be amazing. Right now they're talking about doing ''a whole new adventure'' after Generations, I just hope it's the return of gimmicks. Generations could be okay for a celebration game, a stand-alone title, but after they definitely won't be anything else than the fagbrats to block their road. I really hope they shut up with their stupid hate ''x doesn't belong in Sonic'' all the time. To quote Ergo from Unleashed, ''Nobody likes a whiner''.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy Me too. Generations would be a good exception for the 20th anniversary, but nothing more. Most of the stuff that "doesn't belong in Sonic" fitted very well with Sonic (or Shadow in one instance).
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 So true. For them, anything that is new doesn't belong in Sonic, which is BS(like always). Now they're full of themselves saying that ''we should be grateful that they gave us the first quality game since SA2 that is Colors'', BS once again. Shorter than Black Knight(which ironically got hated for being short), easier than all the other games, worst story by far and so on. But there's nothing new so it's gold quality to their eyes, and claim that their ''critics'' saves the franchise.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)It's ridiculous, REAL critics can help, like saying that the guns would need more polishing when it comes to shooting the enemies(perhaps add a first-person mode to stand still and shoot accurately before continuing)or that the level-up system in Heroes was a good idea that could be exploited more, etc. There was nothing wrong in adding all the new things, it made the series unique. They could even try to bring back some of them in a different way to make it new and better.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 New things really fitted well indeed. Yeah, Generations is a good exception for the 20th anniversary but that's it. The levels look really good, they showed a bit more of Chemical Plant, Seaside Hill and Rooftop Run at TGS as well as the remix for each. Gameplay:average, it works but it's not original. Levels:great, lots of stuff and there's many pathways, and the fact that they use the whole history is good. Music:quite a variety, from the Chemical Plant rock/techno remix to the...
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy All 4 One will be great. The gameplay is much like the old Ratchet & Clank yet quite different with it's new gameplay and is a nice take on team-work mechanics. Last time I saw puzzle mechanics that used multiple players was in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and it only used 2 players. Rooftop Run's soundtrack has been released? Nice. The gameplay is just too simple. Sonic had higher standards before, even with the SA games which had good variety. Sonic shouldn't be Mario.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 True, Sonic was even meant to be the anti-Mario character. Sonic was about attitude, innovation and sophistication, not rehashes, speed and simplicity. Yeah, gameplay is way too simple, although I really like the way they did the levels so at the very least there should be good levels in the game, though that it definitely won't beat the innovative era games(1998-2009)unless there are new and fun things. Yeah, the Rooftop Run remix has been released for Modern, it's pretty good.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
The gaming community need to grow up, no?
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 Yeah, Sonic has speed but it's not only about that. 98-09...I really miss those times too, that's when I got hooked in the series and had the most fun. True, it's strange how come some series can get away with change but not Sonic, Crash or Spyro. On a side, it's good to know that not every franchise is corrupted by anti-innovation but the community definitely needs to grow up. No series would be as great if it did the same thing for 10, 15, 20, 30 years.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MG 10 years is a good cut off point since Crash and Spyro changed roughly around that time period, but 15 years is pushing it and more than that with the same damn formula is just.... No. Ratchet & Clank has gotten the same treatment as Legend of Spyro: 40-50% of the fanbase accepts it, the others hate it. Interestingly, both franchises were created by Insomniac Games. Crash and Sonic have it worse with horrible fans and mindless idiots. I'm fighting a Sonic idiot right now on a Heroes video...
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 I agree that 10 years would be mostly the limit and after it's just too much.True,it's strange how people don't accept them especially A4O since it still has the same formula at some points.Yeah,Sonic and Crash are in the same boat, although Crash hasn't gone retro(and truly downhill)yet like Sonic did last year because of the idiotic fans.Heroes...the beginning of decline for the fanbase's IQ.I admit that every team shouldn't go in the same levels but still, team gameplay was fun.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy My point was that All 4 One has at least some positive comments on it as with Legend of Spyro. Sonic and Crash are in worse areas since Sonic was destroyed by the fans and Crash has been in hiatus due to fagboys' hatred. I agree. The levels should've been different, but the team gameplay was fun. A few more differences between the teams would have been good too.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 True, I guess Insomniac got better fans. It's sad but Sonic and Crash do have it much worse, the levels and co-op missions might be a small saving for Generations to make it better than Colors, but it still has a long way to go. Hopefully the same won't happen to Crash, bringing back old stuff for the future games is good but ps1 clones? Not really. Yeah, more differences between the teams and different levels would have been better, but the team gameplay itself was fun and good.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
MGguy Insomniac's franchises are rather lucky. They have die-hard fans who can see good games more often than others. Crash has it the worse per capita, with more retrofags who are more rabid than Sonic's. Sonic's by comparison is nearly as bad, but AT LEAST each game has it's own fanbase. I heard that Unleashed had the biggest "community" of the series. I agree. The bazooka, Crystals and Gems (upgrades and unlockable moves for Crash & Titans) would be great for Crash, but not the whole formula.
vgman94 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) I have had so many ideas for Crash. The formula of Radical is basically digital clay. Many ideas could be added to the concept, but the budget and time was far from adequate enough to allow them to save the series. If Activision gave them more budget and time, we'd have a Crash game with critical acclaim and if Spyro had more polish, we'd still have TLOS. I'm excited to see All 4 One because it's a new concept that HAS gotten it's needed time, unlike Crash and Spyro.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 True, they are many games that don't come as expected because of the lack of time and budget, it is sad because a lot of them had huge potential and we can clearly see it when we play them. Radical did great but they could have done even better. I agree, A4O had the time it needed and will be great.

@vgman94 (part 2)beautiful Rooftop Run one. At least not everything is gone, Generations is closer than ever to beat Colors, but not the other games. All 4 One, there's nothing to say about it. It will be great, period.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)which was confirmed, is the end of the rehashes.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part)At the very least it could have the retrofags suck their dick while others can appreciate Modern games but still, they'll most likely complain some bullshit like ''Modern ruins Classic's image'' or idiocies like that -_-
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)respect he deserved in these last 10 years, 12 in some cases. Not for the right reasons sadly, but he should get the respect he deserved, a respect that should have never been lost by those idiots.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (2) and levels with more dynamic sequences. Such as the City Escape level. True. Modern Sonic will only be appreciated from the speed, not the gimmicks, not the innovations or stories or any of tht. Just "Sawnik runnin' fast! WEEEEE!!" -_-
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)They also showed a ''Death Egg'' boss(last boss of Sonic 2)pic and it look like a platformer boss, and a pic of the SA2 Shadow battle which is a boss ala-daytime Unleashed, with Shadow using boost too. Finally, there has been a small Time Eater pic leaked which shows its face. I'll give a fair chance to the game but I must already give a low score to gameplay so far since it's rehashed. I expect Gen to be decent but nothing more.
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 3)I agree. Innovation and variety makes it much more fun, hell at this point I'd ever accept the return of Big if they can give him-huge-improvement, I really hope that the 3rd Storybook is really in work, at least that would leave us with something if it's to stay rehash for long...
MegaGlassguy 5 months ago
@MegaGlassguy (Part 2) Hopefully SEGA will work on gimmicks with the storybook series a little. The Death Egg looked bad in the original, but I REALLY want to see the new version. Maybe the Egg Dragoon too.
vgman94 5 months ago
@vgman94 (part 2)Yeah, Death Egg looked quite different. He's bigger, looks more like an Eggman mech and the pic basically shows him in the background and Classic jumping on platforms, nothing of that was in the original which should make the battle interesting. I want to see how they did Egg Dragoon too, really hope the Werehog would kick his ass again, the battle, scenery and the way the Werehog ended the battle by throwing Eggman away is what made the boss memorable.
