I agree with this completely. Because I live in a state with a...horrible curriculum, but I once lived in Oklahoma (stupid bartlesville) I can actually teach my science class better than my teacher as everything she is 'teaching' me is things that I learned in grade 3.

Heifer International? It started off as a nice idea but it's a disaster. Processing plant foods through animals wastes biomass, nutrients, energy, not to mention water and less-obvious resources. Even the UN is admitting that animal agriculture projects like Heifer causes more problems than it solves. There's a very detailed documentary series on The History Channel on Sky TV called The Universe which uses computer graphic images which I think is interesting for people who like Astronomy. I think it has over 40 episodes so far.
