  • great !

  • Sounds pretty clean, I love your tone. :D

  • I don't think its fake people, just way out of sync.

  • amazing tone but no flanger

  • no flange?

  • I had no way to turn it on and off with my foot at the time, nor could I afford one.

  • still an awesome version regaurdless. Nice guitar man!

  • Nice job man, and I liked the improvisation solo too. I just posted a version with the same backing track - I hope you like it too. Would love to find more back tracks from whomever put it together. =VH=

  • What guitar are you playing

  • Never mind i see now.

  • Ok, you must have seen it on my main page. It was not an expensive guitar either... paid $400 for it back in the early 90s. Plays pretty good for the amount I paid. :)

  • Top notch playing. Good work.

  • dude you are awsome!!!!! and where the fuck did you got that background music i really want it..... \../

  • You're not wrong, that backing track is awesome, where on earth did you get it??

  • that band sounds very good!

  • I WANT GITAR!!! NOW ! RIGHT NOW :D

  • cool

  • i can see why everybody would think its fake because you did a great job. you rock. awsome guitar

  • My apologies. The video and audio aren't in sync. No wonder why it looks phony. Again, my apologies.

  • I meant to tdigiano

  • What does your other ear make of it :P

  • What do you and Toronto have in common....You both rock!!!!!! Thx

  • hey dude nice cover, also i have this same guitar and im bout to get it all fixed up and i was wondering if this guitar is really worth the cost to get it fixed.

  • youre good at guitar, i need one of them kramers dude, you know where i could get one cheap because im broke and 12 years old

  • do you palm mute those open Db or D notes?

  • Yes

  • what's the tuning? Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb?

  • Yes

  • nice cover. i was about to buy a same exact model as this guitar on craigslist but the guy never replied back to me :( I was sad.

  • hey how did you fit the Floyd rose on ,or did you buy it like that, cause I'm customizing my strat and i wanna throw on a Floyd Rose to complete the madness, great guitar work buy the way .:P

  • This guitar came with an original Floyd Rose as stock. Thanks for the kind words, they are very appreciated as seldom as I get them for this very early vid.

  • hey did you have to specially fit that Floyd Rose to that Strat or did you buy it like that, cause I'm customizing one and i think I"m gonna have to cut into the body

  • just saying thats not a strat dude its a kramer focus

  • Sweet!! :) I just got myself a 80's kramer focus 3000, man the pu's on this thing is CRAZY!!

  • is the v-amp foot switchable?

  • Yes, but only with a Midi Footswitch

  • not a fake; good job

  • isnt it possible the camera is slow? u fuckin retards .. great job man its a 10

  • WOW FAKE!!!!! lol Cmon its WAy to perfect...

  • have you seen his other videos? its not fake

  • its called camera lag dumbass

  • I have the exact same one only i don't

have the whammy and i dont have the

    chrom covering on the switch

  • seriously watch his other vids this guy is great at guitar

  • Awesome backing track!!

  • Tbh, I think the guitar looks like a Burns guitar, Hank Marvin model

  • WOAH???? who's signing? dave? sammy? gary? PLEASE tel me it sounds weird

  • Sounds like the guy from the Atomic Punks (a tribute band)

  • Yep I should have looked closer. I have a couple of USA Pacers. Great guitars.

  • Actually this guitar may be the Kramer Pacer USA (pickguard model).

  • Nope, it's just a plain ole' Japanese (ESP) made Kramer Focus 3000. It's a later variant with the non-tilt pointy (tilt-headstock shape) style headstock painted to match the body. The only modificationns is a brass plate I put behind the bridge to keep the Floyd Rose from caving into the bridge pickup cavity like it did on my red one.

  • I have one too...Same color and all.....These Kramers are pretty tuff. I'm playing it in a video I recently posted of Rush's "Hemispheres: Part One"

  • Kick ass.

  • dope.

  • Very nice job dude.. Must be annoying with all these people mentioning how it's like 3 seconds out of sync huh? Well it's obvious your playing the song so good job on that! Keep on rocking.. just got myself a Kramer 1984 reissue by the way.

  • that doesn't look like your playing it because the low dun dun dun dun is on the low e string and the finger positions look way off.

  • I know, I've been hearing for about 2 years about this video over and over again. It's getting pretty old. I have no way to update it as I changed sound cards (all I can do is play the song solo now), actually, that IS a thought.....maybe I should do that some evening.

  • You almost nailed the tone on this song! is that pickup stock?

  • Yes, it's whatever they put in the Kramer focus 3000, the only modification to the guitar is a piece of brass bolted along the bridge side of the humbucker cavity to give some strength to the wood for the floyd rose trem pivot screws.

  • um sound is way off from your playing

  • better than I coulda done. nice work on my favorite VH tune man!

  • you need the full 4 fingerd chord to get a little more bass your to tinny

  • Reading some of the comments as a non musician, well..

You must know the guitarist joke about how many guitarists are needed to change the bulb?

Ten- one to change the bulb the rest saying fine but I would have done it better...There is this great Cream era Clapton video where he shows how to get different sounds from one guitar...

  • Nice work mang! Are you playing a Charvel or Kramer? Keep up the good buddy!

  • It's a 1986 Kramer Focus 3000, Made in Japan, one of the later Strat style ones with the pointy un-angled headstock with a black block "KRAMER" logo.

  • Right on, I had a Focus 2000 but it got stolen. Keep playing buddy!

  • its outta sync

  • fuck all you jackoffs who say it's fake. you guys are just jealous because you can't play it. rock on dude!

  • This kicks major ass... best "Unchained" guitar trail on youtube in my opinion.

  • creepingnet... I think when that guy said FOS he meant that you are Full Of Sh*t.. wich is crap.. I know this is real and it owns.

  • Got any other cool Kramers?

  • Yeah, I have a red Focus 3000 that was my first electric guitar, it is modded to heck and back, and I have a black Striker ST-100 with a Warmoth neck and a DiMarzio Super II Humbucker in the bridge. I also have 2 Kramer necks attached to my homebrew Explorer, and another that is to be attached to a Kramer Striker ST-300 body I have in the car as a second version of my red Focus 3000.

  • where did you get your guitar

  • Pawn Central in Alabama. It was $150 with hardshell case.

  • good video out synch though

  • I know, this is one of my oldest videos from 2005-early 2006ish, when I was using a digital camera, the newer ones are better.

  • This has Milly Vanilly written all over it. I ain't buying it

  • Then apparently you are tone deaf my little friend. That AND it's highly apparent you don't know jack shit about video compression vs. audio compression. I've explained it already 20,000 times, so it's not my fault your dumb-ass can't read.

  • If you feel the need to explain it so much, then you truly have some skelatons in your closet. Nice try :-) you're FOS and you know it

  • What the fuck is an FOS? I don't need to explain at all, the reason I AM doing is is for the help of OTHER guitarists on here who have been called fake when they are OBVIOUSLY playinng. Notice the FLAT note at the start Mr. Tone Deaf. Or how about the fact that's not DLR singing hmm? Or how about you go watch my SECOND video of this. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Either take my answer or get off youtube.

  • Oh, and for the record, have you seen my OTHER vids, or are you just some Van-Halen nazi who's gonna' bitch that I played "I'm The One" on a Fender Jaguar (ooh, wrong guitar, what's going to happen, the guitar police are going to arrest me). This video was almost TWO years ago, recorded on a cheap ass camera with even cheaper software with bad compression. This video is why I don't use backing tracks anymore. I'm, getting tired of responding to comments like yours.

  • Yes you know its true, OOH OOH OHH I love youooo! LOL Gotta Love those Vanilli boys! Im not sure if this is a Milli moment but if its not hes dead on, tone and all! Brown sounding the shit out of it! LL EVH!

  • =O i have that same bt

  • Yeah, sometimes I wish I had not uploaded this video for all the stir it caused. It is now the 2 1/2 year anniversary of the Unchained Kramer video, and I've changed cameras TWICE since then, and still I gotta hear about it being fake, lol. This video is OLD. Back when I uploaded this Youtube was not owned by google.

  • your amazing--------amazing b. s . er

  • It amazes me how many people who can write CANT READ!

  • thts really cool wat effects or amp controls are u using

  • Man that sucks really bad go take some lesson's

  • no it doesn't its awesome, great cover

  • That looks exactally as my friends Strat. pretty bitchen.

  • don't hack on the kid with the lightsaber, I heard he's hung like a donkey.

  • Bad ass!

  • Wow dude, that backing track is intense, any idea where I could find it?

  • i dont get how you plug this into a computer, USB cord?

  • For which function? Programming or sound input

Sound input uses this - 1/8" Phono Jack with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter.

For programming the V-Amp, you will need a Game Port on your PC, and a Midi Cable (it looks like two of the big old keyboard connectors attached to a joystick connector)

  • You're good

  • great job!! i will [hopefully] be able to do that by your age lol. i heard ONLY one mistake (at like 0:24 in the vid) so great job.

what i dont get is that a while ago you said it looks like your behind cuz of compression, but to me it looks like your ahead. lol ah well, i love the video response too!

  • He does'nt suck, he's pretty good, at least he's not like 30 playing with a wooden stick as a light saber...

  • the guitar tone you got is dead on other then that u dont have the flanger pedal

    what amp are you usin?

  • Behringer V-Amp Pro Rackmount processor set to chorus, British Hi-Gain w/ Classic 78' Cabinet, run direct through my computer's sound card.

  • Love Kramer, Hate Michael Richards

  • Me too, reminds me of the days before vintagekramer.com, when I would hunt around for Kramer info on the internet, and all I'd get is that dorky guy from Seinfeld.

  • fake....fake, fake fake

  • Hey man, check out the video response, I hear it's really cool, mwahahahahaha.

  • I LOVE KRAMER

I have a Kramer Focus 3000 as well.

  • sweet thanks

  • My guitar is the 100% the same as your but it is a Striker 300 from kramer but it has the same everything

  • Not too surprising. The Focus 3000, STriker 300, and I think it was the KX350 were all cheaper versions of the American made Kramer Pacer Deluxe. The only real difference between the Pacers and Focus initially from my experience has been the use of Plywood for the body, and a slightly different body shape. I also have a ST-100 body myself with a Warmoth neck on it, but it's in the process of being rebuilt at the moment.

  • cool. They stopped making Kramers right?

  • For about a decade yes. Kramer closed their doors in 1989, they got sloppy with endorsers and royalties and such, as well as the foreign made models killed their image.

Kramer is now back at it again, except now they are owned by Gibson. They only really sell through the MusicYo Website though.

  • Good job post you jams at musiciansquarters free guitar site 250 MB for ur vids music and more Berklee teachers

  • great tone, post another one with better sound/audio coordination, and show both hands all the way through. I want to learn that tune.

  • Too bad the sound/video aren't sync'd up. :(

  • hey man, how was you going?

hey man, i use a vamp pro too

can you tell me the configuration in the vamp pro to play van halen like you did?

    thanks dude!

  • I got a new one, hehheheheheh, mwahahahahah!

  • wow man you did a great job........................................faking it. lol

  • The gig up your not really playing!

  • Here's why the video is out of sync....compression threw it off, so it looks like I'm behind.

    http://blogs.chron.com/makingmovies/archives/2006/04/youtube_and_the.html

  • o.k.

  • ur awesome....look at those finger move WOW! u got eddie movies baby

  • cool,..

  • wow. just wow. did you do another song? ohyeah, can you tell me the url/forum to get that backtrack? i'd like to practice this song as well. i use tab though, wud take 4ever to do it by ear :). are there backtracks of other songs to?

  • I've done 2 more songs: "I'm The One" by Van-Halen (on a near stock Fender Jaguar oddly enough), and "Blue Collar Man" by STYX. http://gbc.ezcommunities.com/index.php is where I found the backing track, but you'll have to register first. I also get them from Guitars101.com. Most of the other backiung tracks are done in MIDI re-recorded to WAV though.

  • how can you remove eddie's guitar from the record? you should have to do it right? otherwise your recording gonna be doubled with eddie's guitar playing.

  • Simple, the backing track I used was not recorded by Van-Halen, it was recorded by some fan band who's obviously very good. I downloaded it from the hard rock guitar bootcamp forum. This is supposedly the best backing track ever made for that song. I have no clue who made it, but whoever they are, they need to make more of em.

  • wow. sounds really like Dave!!! the drums a bit un-Alex...but your guitar playing is amazing! how could you know the whole song? do you read tabs? or just playing it by the feeling?

  • I've been playing 10 years, and Van-Halen was a major influence on my normal style. I taught myself Unchained note for note by ear several years back, it's one of my favorite songs. Yes, I play by feeling, you'll notice my solos are a bit different than the originals. I was shocked at the quality of the backtrack myself, that's why I used it.

  • do you have the exact link or site name or something?

That's the link where I found the download, though the list has grown, I think it's almost time to make another video...hmmm, maybe they have another up.

  • wtf? he is really playing it.

you should read the tab and then look at this video again. he doesnt suck, he is realy good, and he is really playing the song

  • your not even playing, you suck
