Nice job man, and I liked the improvisation solo too. I just posted a version with the same backing track - I hope you like it too. Would love to find more back tracks from whomever put it together. =VH=
Ok, you must have seen it on my main page. It was not an expensive guitar either... paid $400 for it back in the early 90s. Plays pretty good for the amount I paid. :)
hey dude nice cover, also i have this same guitar and im bout to get it all fixed up and i was wondering if this guitar is really worth the cost to get it fixed.
hey how did you fit the Floyd rose on ,or did you buy it like that, cause I'm customizing my strat and i wanna throw on a Floyd Rose to complete the madness, great guitar work buy the way .:P
This guitar came with an original Floyd Rose as stock. Thanks for the kind words, they are very appreciated as seldom as I get them for this very early vid.
hey did you have to specially fit that Floyd Rose to that Strat or did you buy it like that, cause I'm customizing one and i think I"m gonna have to cut into the body
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you sad sad little boy i can tell you faked it because when you first started strumin which was to early your guitar didnt make a noise but because i can play this song i can tell that you can play it to by wathin your fingres next time plug in and crank the volume
Nope, it's just a plain ole' Japanese (ESP) made Kramer Focus 3000. It's a later variant with the non-tilt pointy (tilt-headstock shape) style headstock painted to match the body. The only modificationns is a brass plate I put behind the bridge to keep the Floyd Rose from caving into the bridge pickup cavity like it did on my red one.
Very nice job dude.. Must be annoying with all these people mentioning how it's like 3 seconds out of sync huh? Well it's obvious your playing the song so good job on that! Keep on rocking.. just got myself a Kramer 1984 reissue by the way.
I know, I've been hearing for about 2 years about this video over and over again. It's getting pretty old. I have no way to update it as I changed sound cards (all I can do is play the song solo now), actually, that IS a thought.....maybe I should do that some evening.
Yes, it's whatever they put in the Kramer focus 3000, the only modification to the guitar is a piece of brass bolted along the bridge side of the humbucker cavity to give some strength to the wood for the floyd rose trem pivot screws.
Reading some of the comments as a non musician, well..
You must know the guitarist joke about how many guitarists are needed to change the bulb?
Ten- one to change the bulb the rest saying fine but I would have done it better...There is this great Cream era Clapton video where he shows how to get different sounds from one guitar...
Yeah, I have a red Focus 3000 that was my first electric guitar, it is modded to heck and back, and I have a black Striker ST-100 with a Warmoth neck and a DiMarzio Super II Humbucker in the bridge. I also have 2 Kramer necks attached to my homebrew Explorer, and another that is to be attached to a Kramer Striker ST-300 body I have in the car as a second version of my red Focus 3000.
Then apparently you are tone deaf my little friend. That AND it's highly apparent you don't know jack shit about video compression vs. audio compression. I've explained it already 20,000 times, so it's not my fault your dumb-ass can't read.
What the fuck is an FOS? I don't need to explain at all, the reason I AM doing is is for the help of OTHER guitarists on here who have been called fake when they are OBVIOUSLY playinng. Notice the FLAT note at the start Mr. Tone Deaf. Or how about the fact that's not DLR singing hmm? Or how about you go watch my SECOND video of this. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Either take my answer or get off youtube.
Oh, and for the record, have you seen my OTHER vids, or are you just some Van-Halen nazi who's gonna' bitch that I played "I'm The One" on a Fender Jaguar (ooh, wrong guitar, what's going to happen, the guitar police are going to arrest me). This video was almost TWO years ago, recorded on a cheap ass camera with even cheaper software with bad compression. This video is why I don't use backing tracks anymore. I'm, getting tired of responding to comments like yours.
Yes you know its true, OOH OOH OHH I love youooo! LOL Gotta Love those Vanilli boys! Im not sure if this is a Milli moment but if its not hes dead on, tone and all! Brown sounding the shit out of it! LL EVH!
Yeah, sometimes I wish I had not uploaded this video for all the stir it caused. It is now the 2 1/2 year anniversary of the Unchained Kramer video, and I've changed cameras TWICE since then, and still I gotta hear about it being fake, lol. This video is OLD. Back when I uploaded this Youtube was not owned by google.
Sound input uses this - 1/8" Phono Jack with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter.
For programming the V-Amp, you will need a Game Port on your PC, and a Midi Cable (it looks like two of the big old keyboard connectors attached to a joystick connector)
great job!! i will [hopefully] be able to do that by your age lol. i heard ONLY one mistake (at like 0:24 in the vid) so great job.
what i dont get is that a while ago you said it looks like your behind cuz of compression, but to me it looks like your ahead. lol ah well, i love the video response too!
Me too, reminds me of the days before vintagekramer.com, when I would hunt around for Kramer info on the internet, and all I'd get is that dorky guy from Seinfeld.
Not too surprising. The Focus 3000, STriker 300, and I think it was the KX350 were all cheaper versions of the American made Kramer Pacer Deluxe. The only real difference between the Pacers and Focus initially from my experience has been the use of Plywood for the body, and a slightly different body shape. I also have a ST-100 body myself with a Warmoth neck on it, but it's in the process of being rebuilt at the moment.
For about a decade yes. Kramer closed their doors in 1989, they got sloppy with endorsers and royalties and such, as well as the foreign made models killed their image.
Kramer is now back at it again, except now they are owned by Gibson. They only really sell through the MusicYo Website though.
wow. just wow. did you do another song? ohyeah, can you tell me the url/forum to get that backtrack? i'd like to practice this song as well. i use tab though, wud take 4ever to do it by ear :). are there backtracks of other songs to?
I've done 2 more songs: "I'm The One" by Van-Halen (on a near stock Fender Jaguar oddly enough), and "Blue Collar Man" by STYX. http://gbc.ezcommunities.com/index.php is where I found the backing track, but you'll have to register first. I also get them from Guitars101.com. Most of the other backiung tracks are done in MIDI re-recorded to WAV though.
how can you remove eddie's guitar from the record? you should have to do it right? otherwise your recording gonna be doubled with eddie's guitar playing.
Simple, the backing track I used was not recorded by Van-Halen, it was recorded by some fan band who's obviously very good. I downloaded it from the hard rock guitar bootcamp forum. This is supposedly the best backing track ever made for that song. I have no clue who made it, but whoever they are, they need to make more of em.
wow. sounds really like Dave!!! the drums a bit un-Alex...but your guitar playing is amazing! how could you know the whole song? do you read tabs? or just playing it by the feeling?
