  • The unidentified man on the right is actually a crime scene detective. Google photos

  • What I thought was weirder was the lack of blood spray on the wall, couch, or floor.

  • Its probably one of the policemen or investigators that was standing to the side while the picture was taken. As for the transparent legs, 1892 didnt have state of the art film or cameras.

  • Interesting,,,it does look uncanninly like the body. good observation.

  • After all these years and now this person sees the spirit of Mr. Borden? Oh Please!!! This is not the "real" death scene photo of Mr. Borden people get real. The "real" photo doesn't show the whole room like this does go back and do your homework on the death scene photos!!! I know so much about the history of the murders and the pictures that I knew right away that this is a FAKE!!!!

  • Yeah right its a ghost caught on the cctv camera in the room...

  • i think mr. borden was not confused about what lizzie had done to him. i think that mr. andrew borden was keeping lizzie from getting married b/c he wanted lizzie to himself...........

  • @XxEhan10xX What? Everybody thought she was a lesbian because she never got married. Everything I read never said anything about her wanting to get married and her father stopping her. I think you just have an incest fetish.

  • In my personal opinion that is Mr Borden's spirit looking down at his own body

  • Stupidly that took me 3 replays to actually see the ghost that is now clearly visible to me. I thougth at first you meant the bright white part/s that distracted me from looking behind at the wall. If this is serious & not a hoax then WOW! Nice catch

  • did you contact ghost adventures with your findings in this pic iv never notice that before if this is not a fake then i think you should contact them and send them a copy

  • lol this is quite convincing !

  • first of all she did not give her step mother 40 whacks and her father 41 as the song suggests it was only something like 12 and 13 i forget but its in the teens. read up on it. i freaking hate that stupid song. they dont even know if she really did it or not. the case is actually still open.

  • @transformingrebirth she gave her father 9-11 whacks and her mother 14

  • Lol -- that's Dr. Bowen. He was their family physician and lived right across the street. He was the first to examine the bodies. The tour guides at the Lizzie Borden house point him out in this photo on their tour.

  • That is interesting. I have never noticed that before.

  • I am of the firm belief it is either a shadow of a person - I have seen other crime photos from the Borden crime and some have police in the room with Mr. Borden still on the couch. I am going with it being an officer and just poor quality either in filming or in the film itself. Technology was nothing near what it is today.

  • HOLY FUCKING CRAP! considering i believe in ghosts it makes it all the more scarier for me.

  • i guess we still have much to learn and understand, but there are things we will never know..... at least in this lifetime....

  • or it could just be be dark and faded paint on the wall

  • based on the theory that would be andrews remains of his body and ghost

  • everything else looks a little too crisp to be a multiple exposure, although I have taken many that look similar, especially back then with the film its really hard to tell...

  • Actually the shadow to the right that is circled is a Falls River Police Officer investigating the murder scene. Other pictures of this scene show him very clearly.

  • I don't believe it was Mr. Borden. There is usually an explanation about everything.

  • @lissalives1 you just said there is an "explanation" so why can't the answer be that it was in fact his ghost? it would be like me saying it wasn't mr borden it was the detective, and someone else might say, no there is an explanation, it is not the detective, it is in fact his ghost. see how that can go both ways?

  • I would think (I could be wrong) but this is a crime scene photo. The man in the picture is probably a detective working on the case and just happen to be photographed.

  • @StaunchComic actually when filming a crime scene no living person can be featured unless he is somehow directly involved in the crime, therefore if a detective is standing there the photograph would be considered invalid as tampering with evidence.

  • Most of the info in this video is inaccurate!!!!

  • fake

  • or it could be that there were several men at the house while taking pictures...remember, when there is a crime scene there are many people there. The photograph was taken and there was simply some guy standing there. The legs aren't transparent, if you look at the whole picture that hazey flash is throughout.

  • omg!!! THATS HIM>>>>THERES PROOF OF SPIRITS!!!!

  • omg i see it it look like a man with a beard and suit like mr.borden. i believe that was him.

  • It's a double exposure. In the day, exposure times were upwards of two minutes so anything moving in the frame would look like a ghost.

  • In a good image of this. there is a cop or investigator standing there. . not a ghost.

  • info lizzie might not hav killed her parents in one biography i read she said she was out in the barn and when she came back in her father was dead and we didnt hav the technology like we do today so who knows who did it some say it was the maid

  • could be the way pictures were taken back them the quality was bad could have been a cop looking down at him !!but yes it also could be a ghost of himself very cool!!!

  • i would sat it's a coat rack with a coat and hat on it.

  • @MrTops2100 you're very welcome... i guess people dont do as much research as they should.

  • @MrTops2100 they say he did and an eye witness said she saw a man leave the borden home just before lizzie. and another witness ( an employee) of this bastard son said that all the time he had worked for him he muttered thing about the murders and how he and his axe did a good job on getting reed of his father and his wife. and it was stated he carried the murder weapon where ever he went

  • That was a detective. The transparency you see is just the man moving with the prolonged shutter time. I have some old family photos like that. I will say though, they always seem eerie.

  • The camera were shit back in the 1800s, if you moved or walked infront of the camera, it would capture you and make you look blurry because of the longer shutter time.

  • actually she gave her father 27

  • @ravenwhitechapel

I know, but that's not how the cutesy little nursery rhyme goes. :-p

  • @acrestfallenimmortal

Also, it always drove me insane that they put her father first in the nursery rhyme, because we all know she killed her (step)mother first.

  • Actually, if you look in many other videos/pictures, you can see a man (with legs) standing in the corner. I believe his legs appear not to be there because of the flash of the camera. No ghost here, but not to say the house isn't haunted.

  • @ravenwhitechapel Actually it was 11.

  • @ravenwhitechapel And all it takes is one or two... Such a useless mess she made.

  • @ravenwhitechapel It was eleven.

  • Very eerie, indeed. I can't say yes or no, but it IS spooky!

  • Where did you get the music for this!! I am doing a slideshow for Lizzie and I want this music!!!!!!!

  • @mattesonguy14

Honestly, I just searched for spooky music on Limewire, and this came up. My computer has since bitten the big one, so I'm not sure what it was called. :( I'm sorry.

  • ooooh i just looked around, and that same "shadow" is in all the pics...you have not modifyed the photo....now you get a triple^5 !! you FOUND something!!!awsome, great eye. thanx for pointing it out to us all here!!!

  • that's very interesting...will be checking other copys of this photo...good eye there

    ^5 to u!!

  • It's possible it is a reflection of an officer. I lived in Fall River for a bit and went to the house on several occasions. I have the same pic and there is a reflection in mine as well.

  • DAMMM thast amazing ive seen that picture if andrew bordens body but i dident even think of looking in the corner of the room wow i bet that he was suppresed to see what he looked like when he was standing there

  • Mr. Borden's ghost was like "damm I guess It was have to be a closed casket since half my face is bashed in".

  • No that was actually a police officer or a member of the investigation team. If you google Andrew Borden's name, you will clearly see the individual standing there.

  • I feel as though there will always be mytery behind this case.bothers me so. there will always be more questions than answers.from the photography from that time it could be anything. you should ake he picture and see a specialist about it. see what is in the photo itself raher than our opinion.

  • i never saw that before. he could have left too fast not knowing what happened and had to look once things got together.

  • If that was another live person standing there, you'd think that the photographer would have politely asked him to move out of the shot. It's very interesting that the lower legs are transparent, while the upper body is pretty much solid. This is a little off subject, the murders happened on a extremely hot summer day. Why in the world was Andrew Borden and the "mystery" guest dressed formally? Did they not have summer clothing back then? The temperature in that room must have been insane.

  • THERE WAS COPS IN THE ROOM, OR IT COULD BE A TRICK OF THE LIGHT.

  • Respond to this video...No that was actually a police officer or a member of the investigation team. If you google Andrew Borden's name, you will clearly see the individual standing there.

  • @leedumett444 No that was actually a police officer or a member of the investigation team. If you google Andrew Borden's name, you will clearly see the individual standing there.

  • OMG i have watched every documentry and investegation i could read as many books as i could get ahold of ect....and i have never noticed that.....great observation

  • It is the family physician who had been there since 11:20 am and had seen Abby Borden just that morning when she complained to him that she felt sick and felt that she and Andrew were being poisoned.

  • @cahospitalist Thats very possible but then why is he transparant?

  • I have seen several photos of the crime scene and I'm sure most are just copies as there were probably only limited photographers on the scene at the time. I have never seen anything remotely to pooling or spattering of blood in any of these photos. Him on the couch...nothin. Her on the floor...nothin. What the hell?? I wonder if back then they cleaned the area prior to photographong but even then you hould still be able to see some form of darkening or spots???

  • Well I don't know how long after the death the pic was taken but I can't see it being anyone "coming" for him as I'm sure they would have by the time the forensic expert got there. Amazing find...totally looks human and like its attention is focused on the body.

  • It's someone actually standing there. The image of the person is incomplete possibly due to double exposure or the person moved.

  • (which is propably just a pure coincidence thanks to the print on the wallpaper but still looks a bit freaky :) ... )

  • There' s woman' s face on that "ghost figure" on the picture ...?

  • nar it was probebly the detective don,t forget photography was still in it,s infancy and the gunpowder flash may have made him look ghosly there were no filters for the camera anyway thats my theory :)

  • I have seen other copies of this same picture in where the man is more visual...looks photoshopped here if you ask me. That's like a detective or cop...not a ghost. silly people..

  • LoL it could be a cop or someone who worked with the guy taking the picture,or coat rack,or the medical examner. but i dont think its a ghost.

  • wow, interesting....nice vid..

  • I thought that was just a coat and hat rack.

  • That is actually the investigator or coroner. If you notice the carpet appears blotted out... the old flashes caused over exposure, and therefore the image appears to have "invisible" legs.. they are simply overexposed.

    BUT. GREAT CATCH!

I've seen that pic a million times and never noticed that!

  • i think he noticed something happened but he wasn't sure like he wasn't sure but he saw himself laying there like wow is this real kind of thing

  • dmcbooklover That is a man on the side of the picture. That picture was taken by the police on the day of the murders. Who you see is one of the detectives that did not move out of the picture frame. So many people think it's a ghost but it is not.

  • It's one of the policemen standing to the side while the photo was being taken. He is probably blury because he moved. The photographer may have been using old equipment, I have seen this effect in Civil War pictures but thought that photography had advanced to the point in 1892 where this wouldn't happen.

  • wow, never seen that before. Weird.

  • Where u get that pic of ghost????????

  • lizzy did it

  • Comment removed

  • I totally believe that is real. What happens is when someone is killed violently or suddenly, they're often stuck there cuz they don't even know that they r dead or why

suddenly taken away from their soul so fast that they kind of stick around. I have extensive experience with this type of thing.

  • thats so wierd great picture did u find anything in lizzie borden step mom it may have it too and hoo got the picture of her dad thats wierd an its cool and all but doesnt it make u think of it ....... please write back

  • back then photos were take with long exposures and all kinds of odd gliches could happen. It is probably someone with the photographer

  • It's probaly the shadow of one of the police officers standing by while this forensic photographers took pics of the scene .

  • I paused it in the beguinning and noticed that and then when i pressed play it was the same thing you circled, i didnt kno what it was, it looks like somthing/someone i always study pictures like this, ALOT and get really creative sometimes too creative lol...

  • Strgzr11--

In regards to there being no blood on the white pillow cover, perhaps that is explained by a medium who said that Mr. Borden was moved to the sofa after he had been stabbed or axed near the door. This medium--Georgia O'Connor--also says that Lizzie Borden didn't do it. (You can see this medium's video on YouTube.)

  • pretty cool !!!!

  • It gave me chills. It could be him or it could be someone he knew in life that had died and had came to get him. I think it looks more like a woman ghost. The transparent legs look like maybe she was wearing a dress. Either eay, this was a very cool discovery. Good Job

  • Thank you. :)

  • OMG! That is Andrew Borden.....

  • seriously...Ghost rules? umm send me the manual..so i can look up mass haunt..

and i think corey was killed by a vampire or something.

  • Kind of interesting for sure. But from what i known about 19th century photography, the exposures were quite long. This could actaully be a person in the room for part of a an exposure who simply moved before it was finished. OR, it could be mr Borden!

  • If you believe in ghosts, then you have to follow the rules of ghosts. Murdered souls first go to purgatory where permission to haunt only those who killed them. People who after or due to betrayal can mass haunt, as can lost lovers, those with an intense passion for something left unfinished in life, and so forth. Just wait till Cory Feldman dies!!

    Is Cory Feldman still alive?

  • Actually - that is someone who is standing there. Back then cameras had a much longer shutter time. If you moved during the photo, it would be blurry and "ghost like" There are a few more crime scene photos of Mr Borden which show the man starting to walk out of the room which caused the blurry effect. Would be cool though if it were a ghost ;-)

  • @sullivanthepredpup I agree. Photo's from that era almost alway's have a ghostly haze in them.

  • @sullivanthepredpup aslo you are able to see the faint out line of stripes on the mans arms to the right suggesting he was a corpral with a old police uniform

  • @sullivanthepredpup That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. I took a photography class in college and we used professional cameras that you can adjust aperture and shutter speed. We used to set the shutter speed to very slow and take pictures like this one, where someone was "in" the picture, but not completely. Spooky looking, indeed. But an apparition? No. Sorry. Myth Busted. NEXT! ;)

  • What a great observation! I've been 'studying' this mystery for years, and I mean years and I have NEVER noticed that before !!!! I am a spiritualist, so I believe that is quite likely Mr. Borden standing there. There's one other curiosity; have you ever noticed that there is no blood on that WHITE pillow cover Mr. B's head is lying on? I find that so strange. You'd think there'd be blood running from his wounds & soaking that pillow, right? Any opinions about that? Pls be nice I jst curious

  • That's a good point about the pillow. By that time they may have cleaned up everything though. Like I said in a previous comment, we'll never know for sure. This whole thing is still super fascinating though. I've always been interested in it because my birthday is August 4th. :-)

  • I honestly don't know, I just thought it was an interesting theory about his "ghost". It could very well be another person. Sadly, that's one of the only pictures I've ever been able to find of the crime scene, so we'll probably never really know for sure.

  • Could it be someone else just in the room at the time the photo was taken and it didn't quite develop properly on the film? I would imagine there were people crawling all over that crime scene. Just my thoughts.

  • crazyyyyyy!!!
