pspfanboy100...the viper has a way biger engine, thus lots more weight, and it wont rev anywhere near as hard as your jap buzz boxes, for starters revs aint everything, your nissans have that much technology put into them that they might as well be robots, us americans dont need massive twin turbos to achieve 600hp anyway. viper all the way mopar or NO car!!!!

250HP is a big difference, even at that amount of power. But the viper has roughly over a 500hp difference, giving it the huge edge. But, since the gt-r has an amazing transmission, it can make up for that power by putting it down longer. We don't know if the viper has a short powerband, where it just peaks at 850 and then tapers down or what. Whatever the case, this goes to show how great a car like the GT-R really is.

Automatics are slow, while the GT-R is a dual clutch automatic.. ferrari has recently developed a different type of transmission that shifts even faster than this.. although, I don't know what could be felt different in the .2 seconds from when you touch the paddle shift, till you have power to the ground.

@1Oleh2 He has paddle shifters. Plus having a automatic would be easier in the first place. All you have to do is push the gas and steer, the transmission is computerized. It would hit the optimal RPM every time, no human error....

@bud4g63t Yeah, but the GT-R is 4-wheel drive which gives it an edge, and also the viper probably weighs a couple hundred pounds more. So technically the extra horse power doesn't mean anything. I think what gave the viper the win was its aerodynamics, its a smaller car and lower to the ground.

Vipers have REALLY tall 5th gears that were changed in the 2010 models, I guarantee the reason the GTR caught up was when the Viper hit 5th. Still that Nissan can really move. Nice vid.

the gearing sucks in the viper thats why it was getting sluggish at the higher speed because of the 3.08 rear gears, if he put in some 3.33 or 3.55 it would let it reach a higher top speed so its in a better powerband
