I have a mosin M39 as well, (not Finnish though..) the bolt is so worn cause ive fired atleast 1200 rounds through it. still works like a charm, and still accurate.
your right, he is working the bolt pretty fast, but I think the NRA made up the prospect of Obama banning guns just because they are neo-conservatives and they dont agree with his policies. He has way more important things to worry about.
They've slowed down a bit recently but before I was getting their bullshit in the mail every other day. I actually went to a guns store to buy arrows the weekend after he got elected(BAD idea). It was absolute pandemonium. The store was comepletly packed with paranoid rednecks stocking up on guns and ammo. Most of them didn't even know how to properly treat a gun and were dry firing them in the store AT ME. A few minutes before I left the dealer actually ran out of 7,62x39mm.
your left handed so am i .... i've never shot a real gun exept some small 22l i just wonder if you have shot an full auto lets say ak 47 and if it does any diffrense to be left handed im thinking about the chamber so they dont fly in your face or whatever :P thanlk yyou :)=
You must not have fired an M39 in good condition. These are some of the most accurate military rifles made in that era. These will out shoot most of either of the two rifle types you mentioned.
Not to knock them though. I own both along with these M39's and they are all great rifles.
All the mosin's were good because they didn't stuck because their bolts where so loose. You can't shoot with kar 98k or garand if there is dirt or sand in the bolt.
I own both , K98 and M39 and my opinion is: K98 is better for shooting and it dosent kick so hardly, but its MUCH easier to aim with M39 and its much sharper.
So I think M39 is little bit better than Mauser, but better anyway.
Nice! I have a Sako M-39. It's a very nice weapon...the Soviet 91/30s tend to have sticky bolts, but I've never had a problem with the Finnish models.
hey man- dont let that rifle go! make sure u clean it 50/50 water/windex when ur done, too... i would hate to see such a rare and cool rifle as that go to waste... its a real piece of history. I have the exact same one ; )
Around 100,000 of these rifles were produced. An M1 Garand can cost well over $1,000 here. Yet 4,000,000 were made. German K98k's are the same . Over 10,000,000 were made and and original, matching, bringback from WWII will fetch around $1,200.
huh- where i live (USA) these things are damn hard to find! and if you do find a good one, they're expensive as shit. I've been to about 5 gun shows looking for those, can't find them. hm. thats odd... oh well... i love my gun, it loves me back. : )
they are made in finland ;) im in my opinion finland (sako & valmet) are the best weapon makers in both quality power and accuraty sorry for my bad english :P come here and get one ;)

...I don't want to sound like a CoDfag, but this sounds like the version in WaW. And I loved that gun. And I love this gun.

Wow your bolt cycling makes the prospect of a semi-auto ban not seem so bad. But alas, I am left handed and cannot operate a bolt that fast.

Well full with full auto the case ejection is about the same as a semi auto. I've never had a prolem with it except on bullpup rifles.

thank you :) i was very worried about the case ejection :)

Finnish M39 is called Ukko-Pekka. Old man Pekka.
rozkapazka 3 years ago 7
@rozkapazka And Pekka is a derivation of Russian Petka, which comes from Peter, or Petrus.
So 'Ole Man Pete' - we could say in 'Americanish'

Great shooting, I'd like to see how your grouping was! Not enough people re-chamber from the shoulder...

Buy it from finland? K98 is here about 400e too..

You're talking the M39, not mosins in general right? Cuz they made 39 million mosins in general.
yohi00 3 years ago
Oh yes, I was only referring to M39's in particular. There are millions upon millions of the Russian Mosin rifles.

You can get a straight out of the arsenal box Mosin 91/30 with full accessory kit for about US$109 at gunshows...

Yeah, I've gotten a lot better. You should have seen when I first started shooting! Especially since my first rifle was an M44.
