All I know is that RIT called my phone seven times and texted me 6 or so times even though i sent a message back saying i had received it. It was 1:45 am!!!! btw, the police are horrible. I am pretty sure hey did not need to taser him at all. Police Brutality? Looks like another student has a free ride to college, at least after the law suit.
Not a change of police brutality. If you think screaming at the police and not following their commands isn't a reason for some amount of force then you're crazy. He was also warned not less than 3 times (per the rules) that he would be tasered if he did not comply.
One of the "possible gunman's" friends from out of state called the police and said he was suicidal and might have a gun. So they went searching for him. "Possible gunman" turned himself in when he found out & told the cops he wasn't suicidal and didn't have a gun. When the cops picked him at Sol, his drunk friend got involved. Apparently didn't like seeing his friend in the cop car. He ended up getting tazed after "obstructing government affairs, harassment, and resisting arrest."
The "suicidal gunman" surrendered to the police calmly and was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. He apparently did not have a weapon. His identity has not been revealed yet.
Sean McMehemy was the drunk who got tased because he decided to go talk to his friend (the gunman) while he was sitting in the police car. Now, nevermind the fact that he's 24 year old still in the dorms. Why was he stumbling back drunk on TUESDAY?
actually those are two different situations. I talked to a public safety officer and this was just some drunk guy unwilling to listen to the cops. The suicidal kid gave himself over peacefully to the cops where he was then taken to the hospital.
Tazing isn't a word. It's "Tasering." Not like it matters.
Strangest part of this night was the other crazy kid at Colony. Completely different incident. Was on some kind of drug(s), chilling out on his balcony for 2 hours singing/moaning/humming/screaming.
Tasor is spelled with a s not a z. The guy couldn't put his arms behind his back because they cops were digging their knees into his back and his hands were under his body.
He was an ex-marine, drunk, and apparently when the cops told him to "walk away" he refused to and this was the result.
Why did they keep tazing the fucker? Taze him once, grab him by the arm and throw him in the fucking car. Jesus, cops today can't just arrest people any more, they have to make them willfully comply. It's fucking 1984 all over again.
"Not see an issue with that" What kind of moron would say something like that? That has literally nothing to do with what my comment was about. I'm not defending the motherfucker, I'm saying this shouldn't have lasted four goddamn minutes. Taze him once, smack him on the head with a baton, wrestle the fucker to the ground, and cuff him.
I understand that the guy was interfering, but was it really necessary for it to be dragged out? Of course there may be additional information that we don't know but from what I've read it seems like overkill.
dont taze me bro

Maybe he should have thought about consequences before bringing a gun onto campus. Or do you not see an issue with that?
scottymcpimpin 1 year ago
apparently, they never found a weapon on him. but RIT will email, txt, and call every fucking person saying there's a gunman on campus.
