Thanks for a most interesting production. It would be very useful for the listener to state what the instruments are -- non-specialists like myself have no idea at all! I liked having the brass do the two tenor voices as that clarifies the texture. There is an eyewitness account of the ceremony at which this music was first performed which mentions that there were voices and instruments. Please give use more of this remarkable music.
I suspect they are trombones, although not of the large-bore variety used in modern orchestras. The (relatively) small bore diameter produces a brighter, more pointed sound.
@ModeratelyGreen Probably sackbuts - though I'm not sure how historically authentic that would be as there is not much evidence for use of sackbuts before the middle of the 15th century.

Als je er een paar keer vaker naar hebt geluisterd wordt het anders. Ik vind het nu na een paar keer luisteren steeds mooier worden.
Maar ja dat is met wel meer muziek zo...

I LOVE the brass in this piece. It's gives the music a rare majestic quality. Dufay was an incredible composer.

they sound like sackbuts to me... cause trombones werent around at that time, and this is an authentic ensemble.
