Ilove breaking in engines. I like the pounds of smoke that pours out and the nitro spittin from the tuned pipe. And the sound of a freshly started nitro engine. AHHHHH I can almost taste the horrible fumes.LOL
to be fair you're obviously no expert yourself! Did you preheat the engine? Did you wrap foil around the head to keep the temperature up? Did you even measure the temperature? Do you know what an air filter is? Do you know that you should be able to let it run without a glow plug heater on?! Do some research before you break an engine in, it will last so much longer!
yea its good, but if you wanna save your glow plug extra life take it out during run in, but still, it wont mess nuthin up keepin it in. as long as you dont drive it with it in lol
a fan is not really needed as long as it does not overheat. but i can see many mistakes in the video. First, stick the center diff in, you need load. next, take that ignitor out, you're killing your plug. and lastly, drive that thing!! idling all day is not how you break in a motor, you need to heat it up to at least ~180F and vary the rpm to seat the piston and sleeve.
how you have no center diff, you look the gears up or is it an upgrade?

one thing i hate about breaking in engines is that you can't do anything fun while putting up with the annoying noise

pre-heating and foil wrapping is a little advanced for a novice, your just showing off now i think.
some basic straight forward, advice would have benefited this young man.
instead you chose to mock.
please dont scare people away from our hobby,we want the scene to grow.
kind regards sir.

Why should u need a fan on break in? Now a days isnt it recommended to heat cycle the engine for best life and performance?

you should have your air filter on the car.
dale2k71 4 years ago 9
by run in you meen break in than you can leave the glowigniter in there
3DaysTillGrace 4 years ago
put the center diff in(its better for the engine) and take the glow igniter out
3DaysTillGrace 4 years ago 4
Your supposed to have the center diff in when breaking in so he motor has a load on it and it doesnt spin too freely.
PaintfreakRS 4 years ago
