  • @RonanCeol You can get here pretty quickly if you're willing to practice.

Wait, that comment was 3 years ago, so you should be:D

  • Quick, constructive criticism from an old session man ... ... .. try introducing a wee bit more ornamentation (5 note rolls, cuts, short rolls etc...), which will parallel the original tunes played on fiddle, pipes etc..

It CAN be done quite effectively on guitar, in a variety of tunings. Just takes time and practice. Apart from that . . . . . well done !

  • Lovely!

I have that same Claddagh ring! =]

  • Hi,

Thanks for the videos - it's tough to find instruction material on DADGAD - please keep it up.

  • Hi Ronan,

This song, as played, is in the instructional book and cassette(maybe cd now) put out by the famous Richard Thompson. There are also many other songs, and Richard himself teaches it. Good luck.

  • I'm afraid that most of the suff I learned is from real people...What I can definitely recommend is the first volume of the DVD Video "Celtic fingerstyle guitar" according to Tony McManus. There is a tab-booklet included and it's really helpful.
