@MrDavidtron7 You actually do not need the CD at all. You can download the software/drivers direct from the Atarimax website including windows 7 32 or 64 bit HOWEVER though you could still by this they now offer the new SD card version, it is the updated model, no software, more features with BONUS games. Just drag and drop using anything that can read an SD card. See description for links.
I don't recall personally (it's packed away) but I found an online review where the person metioned using it to play Super Donkey Kong so if these roms have the same requirements then I assume yes, as long as none of those games require anything more than the original Colecovision console had...........
As with most items of this nature the ROMS/Games are included, however it certainly is not hard to find the entire collection from various online sources, even if your not into using bittorrent just searching colecovision roms download you will eventually find the entire set which is a tiny download,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well, I find it easy to use and setup the roms etc, I have seen what you do with emulators and such so I am sure you will have no problem, and once you got that baby loaded up with your favorites you can pretty much stop swapping carts......
If I recall correctly Daniel did have some issue running under Vista64 but I have run successfully under Vista32bit/XP SP3, also make sure you get the latest software directly off the Atarimax site itself in case there have been updates since the bundled cd..............
I have to admit, I was a little put off by this at first, but I am coming around. It's probably worth the price when you compare the cost of collecting all the actual game carts. How easy is it to find ROMS? Do they cost anything? Do you have the entire Colecovision library?
No roms cost nothing, well some do attempt to charge but anyone foolish enough to pay for roms should know that nobody should be profiting from roms. They can be "found" all over the net, you would need some searching skills but basicly it is not hard with basic googling, or if you use bitorrent etc. Anyway, no one will make much fuss about roms for a system no longer manufactured. Yes I have the entire library and then some (homebrew, hacks etc) as I said they are not terribly hard to locate..
I use this product to test on the real system my creations, and to let visitors at video game expo to play various of coleco games, including old and new ones.
My desktop is running XP, so I have no problem using it at home. However, my laptop is running Vista, so I can't update the content of the cartridge when I'm outside. And that's frustrating.
When plugging the usb cartridge, my laptop refuse to identify it and so I try again to install the driver. But it's useless. My Vista is a 64-bit version, so maybe it's the reason why it doesn't work.
I did tried again tonight . Even downloaded the drivers from the web site. I'm getting the same answer, the driver is not installed so the cartridge can't be used under Vista 64bit on my laptop.
I did get the confirmation that the problem is x64 based Windows, because of the signed certification system that deny the proper installation of the driver.
However, in Atarimax forum, there is a workaround solution I will try.
Daniel, did you manage to get the cart working properly? Excellent way to test out your creations no doubt. I just ordered a version. Can't wait to see some more of your creations on the genuine article. :)
I didn't try the workaround solution for 64bit Vista, and I have no idea if Windows 7 allow to install the drivers, but what I did is running windows 98SE virtually in my computer to use the drivers properly. Not the best solution but it works perfectly.
Great review MaxiumRD! I've never heard of this thing before, and great pick up. I'd love to see how the cart works and looks like in the system. Thanks for sharing.

Hi,
Can you play the Coleco Adam supergame roms through this multicart(such as 2010, Super Donkey Kong/Jr., Super Zaxxon)?

Hey Rob, are the games included on the CD? Or do you have to download them all yourself?

Cool, you will love it!

I hope so. I've asked the seller to not ship it prior to my move so that it will arrive at the correct address and not show up at my old address.

holly launcher bars batman! that one is more crowded with icons than a teenagers face with pimples.
anyway, the product seems really good. however $130 seems a little much. at least here, with the conversion rates...
good review!

Works fine for me on my VISTA Toshiba laptop. I wonder what issue you are having? Could you not install the driver for the cart?

Ah, OK, mine is 32bit version so that might explain it............
In my Vista you can right click the install program to choose different compatability options, if I remember correctly, maybe you can try that?

This seriously makes me want to hunt down a ColecoVision. I have heard of it, heard from owners, but never seen one in action, looks good!

I love it, best colecovision accessory!

Thanks, with any luck I will be uploading the second part tomorrow showing it actually working in the Colecovision..................
This particular review has been a long time coming, for some reason it just kept getting pushed back but finally I am back on track.......
