actually it woudent be, the RX-78-1 has a more noticable physical look, such as the hands having indentions (think of a skinny-er arm with squarish groves in it) and the left side (while facing the mobile suit) has a longer sided skirt, i usta have an RX-78-1 action figure (the american line that came out near 2002-4) i personally cant recall where my gundam action figure collection is =(. Also RX-78-1 has a full black/red/white/yellow color scheme even with the shield
i bought the exact figure a month ago.. it was my 1st gundam.. it is cool wf a darker color.. but there is no data sheet inside the box..it only got a manual.. i thk i prefer emsia than msia.. hope can see more emsia review..
was your figure the same height as your gouf figure or was it smaller, cause i got one of these and it is the same size as my MSIA guncannon, and shorter than my EMSIA gouf

that aside, this figure was not based on the RX-78-1 Prototype anyway, it's based on the Kunio Okawara concept art and isn't even the prototypes colors. this is actually the RX-78-2 Gundam Real Type so your comment made no sense to begin with.

Actually the RX-78-1 prototype was all black and white with red trim. Bandai released it with a Tin Cod fighter as a limited release.
