  • That shot surprised me. Did you narrow the reare end?

  • @twaldal No, but this video was from 4 years ago. The motor I had in the car was a Pontiac 400 and was pretty weak. I dropped a Pontiac 428 in the car in 2008 and blew it up this year in February. I am currently installing a Pontiac 455, bored .060 and it was built by FAR better than the last 2...

  • I love the powder coated bumpers. Is the rear fiberglass? Don't see many coated bumpers, I have a 68 I want to do in satin black. 428 +30 1 3/4 header. I hope it sounds close to what you have. What exhaust are you running? Very nice car.

  • whats with the painted bumper? still a sweet ride anyways

  • SWEET!

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

  • Nice Bird

    Will look at other vids

  • nice car i want 1 of those so bad

  • im selling a 1967 firebird 400 if your interested msg me

  • What is the compression? Do you need high octane or pump gas?

  • I am about to start a 428 build and I hope its as sweet as this.

  • Holy shit look at that thing. You don't see many of those on the road.

  • hey summer

  • Looks very very awesome. The cowl is kinda big tho haha.

  • Update: I am posting some new driving videos of the '69 Firebird.. I have received several emails about getting some videos made, so they will be up soon. Check my Youtube Channel..

  • you see buddy what people look for when they buy a 69' Firebird is how original it is. It does look good don't get me wrong. But you want big money, I say turn it into a Trans Am. You can buy all the parts on Ebay. A good 69' Trans Am clone sells anywhere from $50,000-$100,000

  • If they want it to be original, then why would I turn it into a Trans Am clone? Actually, the only thing that would make in a Trans Am clone right now is the "Trans Am" emblems and the side louvers... I already installed a posi-trac rear-end and a spoiler.

  • heck yeah man! that bird sounds great! I hope my next camaro project looks and sounds that good. I hit alot of car shows and it's a damn shame I don't see very many firebirds in that great of shape anymore! supernice car, good luck selling it.

  • Thanks man. I have been to a few big car shows, and I have seen a couple of 2nd Generation Firebirds, but it's rare to see any '67-'69 Firebirds. I don't get it, I think they look better than the Camaro's! Not to mention, Pontiac motors were some of the best built motors in history before the engine division got shut down...

  • thats one great looking bird. did it sell yet? Im currently building a 68' firebird going onto the proturing look. I checked with Tamraz on ebay, they dont seem to have and make anymore cowl hoods for the 67-69 bird besides the 5" cowl hoods they have listed. Do you recall the size of yours?

  • No I still have the car. I will probably put a sign on it at the car show in a few weeks.. I believe my hood is a 5" cowl.. By the way, anyone in the Dallas, Texas area, Autorama Car Show - Dallas Market Hall - Feb. 19-21. My car will be there..

  • Your Firebird looks great, the red looks great with the black rims. Did it ever sell?

  • Thanks man. No I haven't sold it, I actually still have it for sale. I have a car show in Feb. that I will probably try to sell it at..

  • what price are you asking?

  • I'm taking reasonable offers. In this video the motor is a Pontiac 400 though, I put in a Pontiac 428 from a GTO last year. Check out the other vids and if you're interested, make me an offer.

  • Where are you? How much do you want to get for it?

  • I am in the Dallas, Texas area. I will be at the O'Reilly Autorama car show at Dallas Market Hall on Feb. 19-21, 2010 if you want to come see the car. There is close to $30k invested in the car. I am actually about to have the back of the car painted black and install a '69 Camaro style spoiler I have had for awhile. I recently installed a 3.73 posi-trac rear-end from a '69 Camaro as well...

  • Is this actually still for sale? Where are you located?

  • Yes car is for sale, I decided to sell it about a month ago but I am in no hurry. I am in East Texas near Dallas. I recently had the paint cleaned up and I am preparing it for the O'Reilly Autorama car show in Dallas, Texas that will be Feb. 19-21, 2010. I am taking all reasonable offers.

  • Hi there, What size of wheels and tires you have on this beauty? I am about to get some new "shoes" for mine. Thanks.

  • They are are 17x8 wheels all around, the rear tires are a little more beefy that the front ones though. I just bought a nice set of 17x8(front) and 17x9(rear) wheels and tires for my new '70 Camaro project.

  • does anyone have a 1969 firebird

    under about $6,000

it could be finished or unfinshed it doesnt matter...and it has to be near southern california...

  • Such a nice car!

  • hey, i got some1 to come and look at my 69 firebird and THEY SAID EVERYTHING ON THE CAR IS ORIGINAL! =D

  • Pure badass

  • Thanks man. I am starting a new project in a month, 1970 Camaro Z-28. I will post videos when I get started...

  • Hey, rickjbell you think tamraz still sells the same hood you got?

  • Yes, they have a BUNCH of muscle car parts, just check them out on eBay. That hood was $300.

  • Hey, guys should i get everything redone to my 1969 firebird, and 69 electra 225, to make it look modern (you know like replace the radio with a touch screen radio, and do custom interior) or keep it all original???

  • The choice is yours... I updated my dash gauges to look better and i prefer those bucket racing seats to the original muscle car seats. Just don't put 22" rims on it and some crazy ass paint job.

  • This is the most amazing sounding car i've ever heard.

  • nice car. i just got a 69 firebird and it sounds nothing like your car

  • Thanks man. Be sure to check out my new vids of the new motor. I sold the 400 and put in a badass 428 with Hedman headers and glass packs. Very evil sound....

  • Nothing wrong with a "slushbox" at all. I'd love to have a 4 gear in mine but the Turbo 400 is the best for strip duty when prepped correctly. Gotta add the smooth drum and put in six frictions along with the 34 element sprag. Thats a nice car man.

  • If anyone is interested, I have the Pontiac TH-400 transmission that was in this car. Practically brand new with a 2400 stall TCI torque converter and the yoke.

  • quick question, do you drive the car on the highway? If so, how are the 3.23 gears? I have a 70 GTO currently with 3.90 greas and i'm looking to go a little lower so i'm not taching so high on the highway.

  • I sold that rear-end actually. I recently bought a posi rear-end with 3.73 gears. I have an original rear-end with 2.90 gears and no posi for sale. You looking for those kind of highway gears?

  • no, no not that kind. I want to gain more top end without giving up too much bottom end. I have the 3.23 rear end now and planning to put it in sometime in the fall. Thanks

  • Too bad she's a slushbox... drop a Muncie in there! But if you're all about the straight line, I suppose those slipshifters are fine. I've seen auto's that shift in the blink of an eye too.

  • great looking bird, how quick is it?

  • Beautiful car, great job

  • SHEER BEAUTY!

  • wicked car man

  • That's one hot lookin' car right there.

  • I have a maroon with black top 69 bird, 428 tore down to the 400 block and is now a 468 with all the goodies, turning 480 HP at 5000 RPM's huge low end torque, and exhaust manifolds over headers, put some headers on her and she is well over 500HP. Next IM getting the serpentine belt for the front components. Bling Bling

  • Is it worth doing up a 71 Catalina that has pretty much only major cosmetic damage?

  • Catalina is a boat, just like the Ventura and Bonneville. Stick with small cars, big motors. Camaro, Chevelle, Firebird, Nova (GM).

  • depends on what you want. the catalina is a decent car. i almost did the same thing with a bonneville.

  • nice nice car im thinking of redoing one of those whyd you paint your car red everybody paints there car red.

  • I was gonna sell it originally and red sells, also black shows EVERY blemish and imperfection.

  • what cam are you running? Very nice!!

  • mild cam?? I love it!

  • need,more vid- sweet ride

  • There are like 6 videos on youtube right now, I will post more when I get home. I will also be posting videos of my new restoration, 1970 Camaro Z-28.

  • aaaah dirty bird!! jk..sounds good!

  • nice bird !

  • man thats a beautiful bird sounds great check out my vid of my 73 ta let me know what you think

  • how does that electric fan working for you? what type is it?

  • In 1969 the very rare Trans Am had a wing type rear spoiler.

  • Where did you get the cowl hood for the firebird been looking and cant find one?

  • Love the sound, color, and style hood you chose. Did that year have a rear spoiler?

  • Looks as good as it sounds. Very Nice. I want to see it race. :-)

  • hey sweet ride sounds cool what are you runing for

    timing gears.

  • Red--RAD. Very nice.

  • beautiful
