  • Comment removed

  • @nzoz1981 No, I wont re-fucking-lax...I've just got too much on at the moment, I'm hoping for a bit of a nap later though.

Yes there are some what we call here in London 'Fuckwads' commenting here, but I think you have mistaken righteous indignation as overly patriotic paranoia? or have you just got the painters in?

  • @nzoz1981 everytime I utube a blast from the past a classic, a great song it's posted by nzoz1981.. keep up the good work your efforts are appreciated, even if not voice by the masses

  • @the69removalist thank you :)

  • @nzoz1981 the americans are paranoid coz every yr over 2million americans are "kidnapped by aliens". the australians are patriotic coz u cant have a civilized convo with them without them saying how great, and how much better there country is. We are merely protecting what is ours

  • @classicalsrock ugh... okay

  • @classicalsrock yeah, i'm hurting

  • @nzoz1981 u better be

  • @classicalsrock : yes the yanks are paranoid. Yes The Swingers are from NZ BUT OZ is better than NZ!!! LOL and we will prove it in the WRC!!! @ retrostuff - i think u mean split enz not the oils

  • @fractripro wanna bet??? the score at 9:31pm nz time on the 9/09/2011 is 29 - 3 to nz. this is our country, and no auzzie team will beat us on our soil in the rwc

  • @fractripro aussie is shit. nz will kick your ass.

  • @fractripro Nah I just Googled it and the Bass player was Bones Hillman who left the Swingers in 83 and joined Midnight Oil in 87 replacing Peter Gifford. Bones returned to NZ in 2002 and worked with Dave Dobbin etc. Cheers

  • What is it with all the utter fuckbrains that feel the need to spread their xenophobic shite around the internet? I don't care where it's from, it's a fantastic song. Take a long, hard look at your life, discover that you're indoctrinated with needless hatred, and take your prejudices and shove them right up your sphincter!

Thank you @nzoz1981 for the great music videos.

  • @lillianashton no worries.. thanx for watching!

  • that drummer has mad skills

  • How about we all shut the fuck up and just appreciate this music. . .

  • In New Zealand 2011 this is the season's theme music for TVNZ3. The wife and me are Poms who have just come home after spending 16 months in Auckland. Now we are back in Blimey I realise how much great music we missed in the noise of the UK's peurile "instant music" industry. No matter it is 30 years old, "Counting The Beat" wipes the floor with any UK rap, crap or pretty face of the moment. If I had any truck with the equally stupid honours system Phil Judd would be Duke of (beautiful)Napier.

  • @nzoz1981 a dingo stole you're crappy aussie music so you have to take ours

  • @nzoz1981 you're a dumb fucking convict just trying to steal kiwi goodness go away

  • Comment removed

  • @nzoz1981 hey dumb ass its a kiwi band so you shove it

The Swingers were a New Zealand rock band. Formed out of the remnants of The Suburban Reptiles so fuck you

  • bloody convicts once again trying to claim kiwi music

  • @Johnmonty85 shove it sheep shagger, it's ours

  • @nzoz1981 its so NZs song!

  • @nzoz1981 its NZs song! check out wikipedia

  • @nzoz1981 no, it isnt. they may have been IN auzzie at the time, bt they ARE a nz band. that makes THIS SONG OURS!!!!!! and if u dont like it, go fuck a koala cause that is the only thing your good at

  • This song should have been a worldwide No.1 hit.

  • you can have it, only thing to ever come out of nz anyway..

... apart from sheep molestation ofcourse.

  • Sorry but this isn't Australian (no offence australia). This is Kiwiana completely.

    His voice is incredibly attractive!

  • kmart song :o

  • i need a repeat button

  • Get over yourselves all the music from this era was the best.

  • If I had to give one reason why im proud to live in New Zealand, it would definitely be the music, because I love to think that this music came from the place I have been brought up.

  • K-Mart! :D

  • Wow NZ makes rally great songs!

i have been in NZ for 6 years now and only just heard there greatest songs ever!

  • One of the classic songs of rock history in the great southern lands!!!! Love the kiwi accent!!!

  • One of the classic songs of rock history in the great southern lands!!!!

  • la-dah-dee-dah la-dah-dee-dah la-dah-dee-dah

    Sing with me people....

  • good new years song. here in NZ. :DD

  • Goood new years on here in NZ .

  • all i can think of is tv3...

  • I had this on cassette tape and played it so much, it wore out.

  • That guitar riff at the start makes the same tune as when your mobile phone is near speakers and starts to buzz, such as in the car.....check it out here - search "Fix that Cell Phone Speaker Buzz with just Aluminum Foil".

  • Fuck u, its New Zealand, not Aussie, this is pure kiwi

  • @doctorwhofanza Is this New Zealands claim to fame?

  • @Baldwynmayhem hilarious how stupid some people are. this 'doctor' doesn't seem to understand that my channels are based on music from Australia and New Zealand. I could have based it on Australia only but seeing as sooooo many kiwi bands had to come to Australia in order to progress, I felt I had no other choice but to include those bands from NZ that added to the richness of our music scene. Split Enz, Swingers, Dragon and many other fucked NZ off for OZ. Doc,get over it and fuck yourself.

  • @nzoz1981 hehe, mate I'm Australian, and only very recently I looked these guys up and realized it was a few kiwis and a pom that produced it. Great classic song from the 80s :). I laugh at the nationalistic comments in here and how people get on thir high horse about something that just doesn't fucking matter, just enjoy the fucking song seriously, as you say. No wonder the world is fucked seriously.

  • @Baldwynmayhem It doesn't have anything to do with sheep, so I'm guessing no.

  • @doctorwhofanza . . . . maybe NZOZ should have titled his wonderful obsession ANZAC MUSIC just to cater for all the angry, cockeyed dickheads from both sides of the ditch who constantly engage in these pathetic, grade school penis comparisons and "push me shove you" bollocks . . . go the nzoz !!!!

  • @oldredun thank you... looking back it would have been a good idea to title it ANZAC.. followed by year. But then again, the government might have gotten hold of the accounts and claimed the name... it is tiresome when you put together a fair and comprehensible channel based on a year of music two very close countries only to have cockheads who have done nothing on YT comment on my work.

  • @doctorwhofanza Yeah I'm Aussie but you can definately hear the lead singers Kiwi accent.

  • this song came out the year of my birth i think its the theme song for my life i love it

  • 30 years old! can't remember where I was in 80 one. On the run?

  • Most overused song on commercials in NZ ever - is that what you mean by "made it count"?

  • 30 years old ,still a kool song

  • Kmart sent me

  • i think thise song is cool and i love the ladadeda part and the whole song rocks i got the idea for the song from a ade on the t.v the song is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is great! Never heard of Phil Judd, Split Enz, The Swingers and Schnell Fenster before. I found their picture by accident and though: that's weird, but kind I like it. Cheers from Poland!

  • Just to end all the nationalistic arguments . Truth is the song came out of a band jam after playing to crowds who wanted to dance and. We wrote it for them. It started with me playing a new beat and bones instinctively playing a bass riff . We recorded it with David Tickle in Sydney. It was his production that made it sound so big .David and I am English, Judd and Bones are Kiwis. Let’s just say it is a Commonwealth production, fuck nationalism let’s get global and dance - Buster Stiggs

  • La da de de, la da de de, la da de da, la da Kmart! :-P

  • D= We used to sing this in chior in Primary... I miss it

  • I think this was used in a Resene paints ad in NZ

  • @smartcooky99 It was the 'World Famous in New Zealand' L&P advert that makes me remember this song. I also think the bridge in this song composition is similar to 'hitchin a ride' by Green Day.

  • I feel like shopping at K-mart now... dont know why!

  • LA DA DE DA!

  • Makes me love being a Kiwi :D :D :D :D

  • Back before music videos had fucking talking before the song (i'm looking at you OutKast)

  • thumps up hehehehehe

  • Phil is one of the most talented man on the Earth! :D

and this song - brilliant! :))

  • Always a fave pop song as a pre teen so ridiculously simple catchy tune what was it that was so great about Phil Judd and the Finn brothers they knew pop tunes like no one else

  • hey this was used for Best and Less ads

  • @bigbadreddog It was KMart's theme song (at least in Australia) for their ads from about 2000 to maybe 2003, when they replaced it with Two Princes by the Spin Doctors. But hey, way to talk up an Aussie pop/rock classic.

  • Now I am convinced: on YouTube you can find ANYTHING!!! Ain`t seen this in soooooooooo long!!!

  • The best songs that i think u'll ever enjoy are the ones u can relate to like i amd many others can with this 'un

  • Never heard this Judd song before - You have to work very hard to have a hit in the UK if you are not British or American. Regarding the convict thing - how long are people going to go on about something that ended well over a hundred years ago? I'm British and I'M sick of hearing about it every time you read something about Australia - it was another sorry episode in English history and it's thankfully over, Siyill, you are a plank. Learn some grammar and put a sock in it.

  • Best rhythm and beat....

"la da di da la da di da la da di da la da di da"...

    I love you The Swingers

  • these people are lunatics lol

  • OMG Such a cool song! LOVE IT!

  • This is from 1981?

Wow, it hasn't aged one bit. Quite remarkable effort to NZ.

  • love this song, especially the accent and haircut :D

  • another great song go the kiwis

  • La da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da

  • BRO!

LISTEN TO KILLING JOKE,THE BEST 80'S BAND

SPECIALLY THERE HIT ALBUM ''NIGHT TIME''

  • @siyill you're an idiot, but if you're really 14, you can be forgiven...

You're still an idiot, despite your age.

  • @nzoz1981 I'm 14 too but it's true Australia was initially a prison as such for crooks from England. Aussies are actually POMEs Prisoners of Mother England. Note, although plural applies to first word in the acronym the "s" still belongs on the end. And siyill try not to insult people over internet posts it's really low

  • @siyill Only a small percent of the first settlers were convicts. Most were free settlers who came here after Australia was found to be rich in resources. Most of the convicts were arrested on trivial grounds like stealing bread. It was less about getting rid of a criminal element and more about thinning out the poor underclass.

I'm so sick of people denigrating Aussies for the convict thing. You do know convicts were sent to America too?

  • @siyill you dick

  • @siyill It`s just a bloody song, can`t we just enjoy it instead of turning it into a pissing contest?

  • @siyill - yeah mate your spot on! we are all murderers and thieves that stole bread to feed ourselves, The whole country is just a big dumb dusty desert, not a tree in site! All desert!

haha no good music.. such ignorance, ever heard of ACDC? that Aussie band that the Yanks love to call there own.

  • @siyill you should read a bit about who the prisoners were before you post assumptions. it is true that most aussies are descendants of 'criminals' but the english in that period would arrest people for stealing fruit and other very minor crimes. the people that were shipped to australia were merely trying to survive because they had started with nothing in England

  • @siyill the fuck are you on about?

  • @siyill mate im an Aussie, what you just did then is descriminate the culture that us Aussies have made, so what if we were convicts from England, that was in the past so who cares, what matters is now, and just for the record A
