the only kwa gun I had break was a gas blowback m1911 which I found the hard way that their 1911 suck ass and any other brand has more reliable m1911s but as far as my 2 kwa aegs, none have broken at all. but I like both g&p and kwa equally

KWA:

cons: over-engineered, failure prone bearings, slow motor, (1380 rpm on a 11.1v? seriously?) non-ported heavy-ass aluminum piston head, (two problems with the same part... hmm...) non-upgrade/TM compatable internals and externals, brittle shell prone to cracking around the cyllinder window

G&P

cons: failure prone gears and piston

G&P are superior externally and internally due to the compatability with standard upgrade parts.

@godsairsofters I've got a gearbox killing video I think you would like... I'll upload it in a little while. 14.8v LiPo, 500 fps, 2520 rpm. (42 rps) It actually lasted almost 5000 rounds pre-video, and then the bevel gear and spur gear got in a fight (the spur gear said some pretty rude things about the bevel gear, or at least that's what the sector gear told me) and both of them lost.

@DisguisedAirsofter Even if it is slightly heavy, the piston head is fine and gives awesome compression. The upgradability of a kwa is a myth. The brittle shoe is just a joke, have you ever seen a kwa shell?

1380 rpm slow ? :D An accurate gun does not need that high rate of fire. Non ported piston head does its job, and worth to mention that ares and marui guns came stock with non ported piston head.

I have a sentry and to be honest the ris on that is not that detailed and finely crafted as on my 2gx sr10. The internals are so-so, came with 360 fps and a missing chamber spring... the chamber had a lot of rree play. The stock barrel was faulty, had to change it. KWA 2gx rulz..

1380 rpm is quite slow for any airsoft gun, ESPECIALLY ON A LIPO. I've managed 2400 rpm on a simple 9.6v pack. That's just a testament to KWA's electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic inefficiency. Non-ported piston head is a poor design, because the air nozzle with nubs that THEY MUST BE PAIRED WITH does not allow enough air into the cyllinder in the first place. I never said G&P were amazing, but they are a hell of alot better than a KWA if you've got half a brain and some tools.

1380rpm on a 100% stock AEG shooting 400fps isn't bad. You have to understand that some of the little mods you do like can make a huge difference.

And for someone who said "if you've got half a brain and some tools" you are being a little ignorant. With half a brain and some tools you can easily modify a KWA to use TM compatible parts.

As for the KWA using TM compatible parts, shaving down some extra material KWA uses on their GB to make in stronger will allow a normal TM compatible metal body to fit, which there for allows a normal hop up if you shave down the little strip of metal of the air nozzle.

If you don't want a new body, but you want a new hop up you can also do that with a dremel and 10min of work.

With that being said, G&P makes some kick ass guns

@DisguisedAirsofter Well, to be honest I own both a G&P M4 and a KWA SR10. Both shoot the same ROF with a 15C Lipo; though a tad faster on the G&P, but they could be because of it being connected with deans.

@rex3453 Your G&P has some big problems then... and your battery is a piece of junk. On a proper 11.1v 30c 3000 mah, G&P is up at 35 rps for a few seconds and then broken and the KWA is at 28 rps for a few seconds and then broken.

Regardless, neither gun will last long on a proper battery.

@DisguisedAirsofter My G&P has absolutely no problems with it. And I don't run a 30C battery, I run a 15C one. Both run at the almost the same speeds. There are also videos of both G&P and KWA guns running on 16 volt (or something like that) and shot automatic for sustain amount of time, then showing the inside of the gearbox and showing there's only slight wear on both.

@dsfasfasfasfasf VFCs AEGs are great. Ares, on the other hand, makes total piles of garbage that are poor excuses for airsoft AEGs. Even G&G, (the crosman of taiwan) makes better guns than ARES.

I do prefer G&P externals to VFC in most cases though.

The cell chemistry doesn't make a different form of electricity) There is no performance difference in a 20 amp 11.1v nominal voltage LiPo (12.6v max) and a 20 amp 10.8v nominal voltage NiMh. (12.6v max, hmm, deja-vu much)

Reinforced gearbox is such a general term... the reinforcements are ALWAYS around the gears, which just leads to compatability problems and wasted material since it has no function.
