  • great song. i hope you kick the depression soon.

  • I would guess - the best female voice ever "captured" on record.

  • If we don'⊥ add Sinead O'Connor ⊥o our prefered lis⊥s we would have a cracked universe lacking ⊥he middle.

  • on which album is this song?

  • Heavenly voice Sinead, love it!

  • that was brill thanks

  • Hauntingly beautiful...Ms O'Connor does a stellar cover of Ralph McTell's classic. It's so disheartening that 42 years after Mr McTell wrote the song in 1969 (which was released in the early 1970s) homelessness today is even worse...

  • great cover

  • @european1001 Is it? she still makes political comments and has been known to write for a sunday paper in Ireland.

  • Very fine!!!

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GIRLS VOICE. SHE HAS TALENT BY THE BUCKET LOADS. SHE PUTS SO MUCH INTO HER SONGS AND SINGING THEM.

  • ~Beautiful!

  • Anti-Now where League ...Live in yogo album , do the best cover of this song

  • very nice ♪♪

  • nice realy nice ... so how you can you tell me your lonley?????

  • in my opinion, an alright version, still not a hair on Ralph Mctell

  • Sinead O'Connor, not just another pretty face, figuratively and yes quite literally! Bedtime25 thank you for the upload of a righteous rendition of a truly great and wonderful Ralph McTell classic! 5*****'s, A+ and Gold Stars for all concerned from Sinead O. to Ralph Mc what a great song!

  • Love the song!! Hate the bitch!!

  • @debbant IM SURE SHE LOVES U TOO YOU CU*T

  • @debbant Hate her all you want, I love this woman to DEATH for not only her talent but her convictions as well. Long live and God Save Sinead O'Connor!

  • I do like this song.

  • WOW, I've always loved this song, she has really done it justice

  • she could do an astonishing album of cover versions, this would be included as would, nothing compares to you, scorn not his simplicity, raglan road, dont cry for me argentina, song to the siren chiquitita....

  • over the years ive heard different versions of this song some good some bad (some really bad) but this version by sinead o conner is awsome her voice is incredible, thank you so much for posting this song.

  • het voice wil always be amazing!

  • this song is profound. it's about being grateful for your life.. cuz there's ppl living on the streets, and are much worse off than you. it's sad but true :)

  • What i wouldnt give too do a duet with Sinead , 1 day we will meet my cherry blossom love always Stuart xxx

  • wow beautiful..........

  • I like every version of this song including the "Anti Nowhere League" version

  • @Beelzebob - Fuck ya !! The ANL version is the 1st one I heard and back in 2001 I had no idea it was a cover and I still like it a lot but I can appreciate now the more melodic versions and I think Sinead did a beautiful version but ANL brings raw lyrics, almost like "fuck you, you don't have it better than this person" but the og and Sinead's version is almost sympathetic

  • I can't get into the politics but this is a great song by both her and Ralph McTell!

  • Very good Cover!!!

  • ich finde sie wunderhübsch

  • I used to only like Ryan's Fancy performing this song, UNTIL NOW. Fred Jack

  • original is besser :)

  • OH my this is even more beautiful that the Ralph Mctell version its even mroe stunning if thats possible xxx

  • "Fer fucks sake Francie"....

  • first time ive heard this ... a good cover tbh... enjoyed listening to it....

the reason there are more irish living in the uk than ireland itself is for the simple reason.. the irish are all caravan owning gypo's ... to be sure .... :)

doesnt detract from the fact madam O'conner has a great voice and this.. is now resident on my Fb page :)

  • weird that an Irish chick would have anything to sing that was nice about London

  • @orchote firstly this isn't a nice song about London but secondly London is a pretty Irish city (Shane MacGowan knew this - which is why so many of his songs are about London) and there are more Irish living in the U.K. than in Ireland itself.

  • @orchote Firstly it's not really a nice song about London but secondly London is a pretty Irish city. Shane MacGowan knew this, which is why so many Pogues songs feature London. And there are more Irish living in the U. K. than in Ireland.

  • Respond to this video... Show me one & i will. this song creates a "video" all of its own. Bliss. Can we just remember that we are all sisters under the skin. no matter what flag or sky we were born under.

  • @AzeriLolli coz she is skinhead o'conner!

  • who the fuck cares what religion she is??....she has an awesome voice

  • Sabine T. thanks for telling me about this song ! Beautiful ! Where is she now ???

  • Sabine T. thanks for telling me about this song ! Beautiful ! Where is she now ???

  • There but for the grace of God go I.

  • gosh what a version and such a voice so mmmm spirital gosh

  • gosh what a version and such a voice so mmmm spirital gosh

  • just uploaded my first attempt at a cover of this song, not sure if everyone will like it, but please please have a little listen, would be much appreciated! :) x

  • what album is this off?

  • Please. This is eloquent beyond belief. McTell obviously wrote it and did wonderfully singing it, but, as has often happened, Sinead O'Connor wraps her pipes around a song and, especially when she exerts actuall effort, she does what a singer ought to do -- she owns the feckin' thing.

  • @Vengeance509 It dosen't do her voice justice - this song just isn't big enough for her

  • No-one out there is a bigger fan of Sinead than me - BUT some songs suit certain artists better and this one suits Ralph McTell. Another example is 'Don't cry for me Argentina' for me Julie Covingtons version is superior and no-one can compete with Doris Day singing 'Secret Love'. Sinead is at her best singing her own stuff i.e Troy, Mandinka, Jackie and John I love you to name a few

  • Sinead you heard this so many times but i will remind your voice is enchanting

  • someone please clear something up for me... HAS THIS WOMAN GOT LEUKEMIA? lesbian? WHAT?!?!?!?! Ive no problem with the options mentioned, iv never been bothered to ask but its bugging me right now.

  • I have the same opinion like betz1511. Sinead O'Connors conveys more emotion like Ralph McTell. He is running like a prize-winning horse in the derby.

  • I have the same opinion like betz1511. Sinead O'Connors conveys more emotion like Ralph McTell. He is running ike a prize-winning horse in the derby.

  • This is far better than any of McTell's versions. She's got a magnificient voice.

  • @betz1511

Nothing can beat Ralph McTell's version.

  • I know - I accused her too. Now I want to find her, tell her I am sorry - for not listening. Those bastards stole my Church, my faith and almost my God. If I could I would run to her and beg her to forgive me.

  • Skinhead O'Connor !!! :o)

  • Nothing is better as the original song from Ralph McTell.

  • Sie hat so eine sanfte Stimme (wunderschön)

  • It's Ok Droo.

  • Nice version of this classic song!!

  • i just think her voice, and her beliefs are just who she is ...right or wrong...she is gifted in her voice!!

  • lovely voice, waste of space. Stick to Irish issues, as you are nothing but a shit head

I loved you but you really let me down.you are not a nun, you are a liar.prove me different. You are not a nice person. If you think otherwise let me know.

  • @oojermaflick She didn't need to take the effort to prove you wrong.Time proved her right! Even the pope recognised the victims of child abuse by priests. Numerous defenceless children fell victim to their perverse behaviour and are still suffering today. It is no secret the Catholic Church paid tuns of money to the victims. Besides that, I think she could not care less about someone like you not liking her. From the tone of your comment it is clear you are very ignorant with a one-track mind.

  • is anyone of you anywhere help the homeless people

  • I love this song. She does it very well. I heard it in the 70s with Ralph McTell and have loved it since. She only serves to make it new for me.

  • ...simply sinead with the soothing sound that only she can bring--she has been given the voice of angels. She is a prophet, protector of the church, and Ireland's siren...how I would love to meet her...to pray with her...just to sit and talk with her.

  • skinhead o connor

  • @derdavorn that's a very rude thing 2 say if she wants shave her hair then thats her life!!!!you cant change that.u meanie!

  • @derdavorn ignorance comes in many forms...you must have many forms of it in your thinking. She speaks out against the Catholic church....I applaud her.I still remember that SNL message....GOLDEN STUFF!!!!

  • If she allowed her hair to grow she would be quite attractive - with a hint of Audrey Hepburn perhaps.

Great version of this song aswell.

  • schöne stimme...

  • Sinead is the greatest!

  • I wish it was more vocals and less synthesized mix-ins. Just a guitar, accoustic would showcase her voice and the song much more powerfully, in my opinion.

  • liam clancy was better in my opinion, but this is ok.

  • @brokenneckYgor

For years she was publicly accusing the Catholic Church (and the Irish part in particular) for being complicit in the cover up of child abuse on a vast scale.

How dare she tell such lies!...... Oh wait.

    turned out she was right.

  • @colmanstephenson Are you blind or go round with your eyes closed it`s the TRUTH

  • @evilofisalm

    em, I was being ironic

    we are in agreement.

  • @colmanstephenson she is a very brave woman

  • @colmanstephenson Here, why's a Catholic Priest like a pint of Guinness?

White collar, black cassock, and if you get a dodgy one you gotta watch your arse

  • This imbecile, crazed pseudo-Marxist says she was smacked in the head with a frying pan by an angry nun. That explains a lot. This rendition would put a mouse to sleep.

  • @BrokenneckYgor Strange that you call her an imbecile. She seems to think about things quite a bit - see her interviews - which is more than can be said for most people.

  • @MachineAmbition

yeah!! whoever thinks a bit further than the tip of the nose or questions sacred institutions is called an imbecile these days. those normalo people accuse clever people of the things that they are themselves. they just don't realize it.

  • What is it with buskers and this fucking song? It's like Saxophone players who can only play 'Baker Street' or guitarists who can only mangle 'Stairway to Heaven'.... one trick ponys....learn a new tune FFS!

  • an extremely soulful version of streets of london. Thanks Sinead

  • Roger Whittaker still my fav

  • Sine Aid sounds half-asleep! Btw, the song was written by Lon Chaney, the great Silent Film star.

  • she´s an angel - ona je anjel

  • @eurotrucker99 you're wrong....it was Ralph Mctell that wrote it, but Roger Whittaker had a bigger hit with it....

  • crap

  • Bernie Flint has it at its best . this is not a Christmas song ... or is she at the sunday choir ?

  • It's good, but I Like the Original by Ralph McTell more.!

  • @Leonidaaass The original was by Roger Whittaker ....he wrote the song Ralph had the biggest hit wiht it ..all good stuff.

  • I just want to rub her head.

  • Eine stimme wie ein Engel... Wow..

  • superb,, pure, transparent, soft voice

like a fountain of cristal water!!

    wonderfull

  • 10 points from germany

  • @RUESTERHH fuck you hitlers bitch

  • @TheSaucepot77 shut up nigger!!!!

  • 10 points from germany

  • Her voice is the softest, most comfortable shirt my ears have ever worn.

  • Voice like an Angel.. this is so beautiful stuff.. amazing..

  • God her eyes are beautiful what a magnificent woman, and with the voice of an angel

  • Sinead O'Connor sucks

  • @MrSteamboatWillie no you do

  • @thomasholmnielsen Very original

  • Que canción más guapa y que mujer, GRANDE SINEAD

  • She was so brave at the Bob Dylan 30th anniversary tribute

  • Don't want to be picky but it's, 'AND held loosely at his side', not 'HANDS held loosely'. A common mistake though.

  • Sinead, for me is one of the sexiest woman ever. Her eyes are so pure and her voice to die for.Just look at her eyes!

  • unique and adorable pics. so touching.

  • Классно и просто супер!

  • one totally awsome version. along with the pogues.

  • beautiful song, beautiful voice, beautiful lady.

  • So how can you tell me, you're lonely

and say for you the sun won't shine?

Let me take you by the hand,

and lead you through the streets of London

I'll show you something, to make you change your mind

  • ..wonder....

  • Ich kenne einige zum Teil klägliche Ausführungen von diesem Lied, spiele es auch gelegentlich. Diese Version trifft absolut meinen Geschmack. - Gruß Arndt.

  • I wonder why "spritiual" or "god-loving" implies anything positive.

  • Beautiful cover from a beautiful lady. Nice video. Bravo!

  • Was für eine klare und sanfte Stimme! Einfach Klasse diese Frau! Der Song passt hervorragend zu ihrem Charakter!

  • may it be that she is/was a skinhead ?

  • @MyrddinTheMetalHead She never was and never has been a skin head. Women shave their heads for a lot of reasons. One of them being to reject societal views on what is acceptable beauty...which is what she did.

  • @DesolationDesire69 ..........aren't there easier ways of getting attention?

  • @johnpaxx Wow you sounded like a numskull with that one.

Thanks for taking me back fifteen years. I needed a walk down memory lane. Back to a time when stupidity was status quo.

  • @johnpaxx Of course there are, but is what's easy always what's best? What if she did it for a reason other than just getting attention?

  • beautiful version...to be expected from an equally beautiful person.

  • 100%! Super stem.

  • Sinead, Lorne Michaels is censoring one of the ultimate gestures ever......... Don't ever change, the world loves you as is.....................

  • skinhead o'connor hihi

  • FUCK OFF YOU SINEAD,DONT ILL USE MY BEATIFUL MEMORIES OF THIS SONG PERFORMED BY ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE!

  • @bandogbojan HEAL FUCKIN YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • @bandogbojan HFY-Hell Fucking-Yeah

  • I've loved you always, S.

  • Soft Ballad!!

  • A very nice version of 'Streets of London', although I'm more a fan of Ralph McTell's version. But apart from that a very nice attempt to reach for the stars!

  • Take my hand and I'll lead you through the Streets of Gaza...

  • Hey Sinéad, fill in the London bit with Dublin...or even Palestine.....

  • @ChemtrailsEire

Or Paris, or New York, or Moscow, or Tokyo, or Mumbai, or.... every other big city in the world.

  • great person ... but in this time i think the version from alexandra is better.

  • this is very very good

  • A human being with a deep sense of affinity with the plight of the down-trodden, the forsaken, the exploited, and the abused in every shape or form, And that's Sinead O'Connor. That's what makes an Artist a True Artist.

  • I love her so much. She really pulls my heart strings. Just has that magical sensitivity about her voice.

  • So very beautiful, both Sinead and the song.

  • I like it :D

It's a little bit slow, but nice pictures and a really nice song «3

  • LIKE U

    U R INDEPENDENT

  • This song is inspirational, it puts life in to reality, I urge every one to give something to the poor, you know, a smile or kind word would do it, maybe a quid. light and peace people.... x

  • That's a really beautiful song :)

  • Sinead's beautiful eyes are the window deep into the soul

  • wow..the best version i ever heard

  • the voice of a true angel , enough said

  • Original (ANL) is better anyway.

  • @TheAntinaci the originals by ralph mctell or summit, but ANL did the best version

  • @ryrydnb thx, i didnt know that.

  • We love U Sinead...

  • Bedtime25 thanks for the upload, S.O."s treatment of this (Debz1990, I must agree this rendition is haunting!) is a borederline spiriual experience, and the acoompanying visuals are nothing short of superb, especially the piercing eyes evidenced from 1:45 - 1:55! Nice work! It's exhilerating to be shown an artist taken for granted by yours truly in 4:10 of absolute perfdection, for that thank you: You Tube, Bed.....25, And Sinnead O'Connor for an extraordinary performance!ROS!

  • I saw Sinead live many years ago singing 'In the name of the father'.It was incredible.

  • ahahah goooodddd

  • nice
