This was one of the worst trades in Pirate history, and there have been some bad ones. I was so mad this day Jason always has been and always will be my favorite major league player, despite the fact I hate the Red Sox with a burning passion.

Ironic that Bay went to the Red Sox, cause the Pirates got their own curse going on. Haven't had a winning season since they traded Bonds Bonilla, Van Slyke, and pretty much every other good player we had.

i was watching the news like two days before the pirate game i had tickets to and then it said about jason bay getting traded i was so mad because it was litterally like a few days before the game

Jason Bay, who can be a free agent for the first time after 2009, is open to doing a long-term deal with the Red Sox.

"Its a situation where hes loving Boston. Its a great club and a great organization," said agent Nez Balelo of CAA. "Hes a quality player, and Im sure (the Red Sox) recognize that. Whatever they want to do, Im sure that were all ears." No discussions have taken place yet.

If the pirates can get hansen going he could be great, he has amazing stuff trust me im a red sox fan and i watch just about every game the sox just didnt have the time to work on him in a playoff race but he could be absolutly AMAZING and moss is just a quality hitter who i compare to a future josh willingham king of guy so it should work out, thanks for jason bay by the way hes been great in replacing manny

I was so happy to see Jason Bay come to Boston, I love young talent and even more when the Red Sox have it!

I think Hanson might be a real good player in Pittsburgh, he never really got it going in Boston but he;s got a lot of talent, Moss needs at bats and he'll get them. I don't envy LA, manny is really a lot to deal with. I like the Dodgers but I'm not sure...and of course Bay is underated but that won't last, everybody will know him now.

after a week and manny isn't trying to impress L.A and be a good boy, and he doesn't run out a ground ball, or poses and watches a pop out to center field for the first time, we'll see how much L.A loves him.

plus, i have a feeling he isn't staying there. after two months, he'll leave and go to the highest bidder. hopefully it's not the yankees.

Jason was a qulity hitter in Pittsburgh, but he needs to learn to not stirke-out 3 times per game before hitting a solo home run, leading his team to a 9-1 defeat. Kay-Bay...Pittsburgh needs pitching, so sorry buddy, have a good time swinging for the monster
