  • What it sounds like you have (if you live in the US) is a Barred Owl. I use a Panasonic. Screech Owls are not very loud.

  • heard weird loud screeching last night around twelve. could this be a screech owl? sounded very weird and pretty scary at night. almost like something in a death throw... i investigated but could not located what was making it.

  • Wow!! I never heard this. I read in my field guide they're best viewed in Spring. I just heard one doing the low hoot just a week ago, December 12th around 6:15p.m. Is this a Sony Handycam? Looks similar to my quality. Great catch.
