further speculation into the red water is possibly the unformed human souls from the Second Impact as it was stated in the original NGE series that humans that have the will to reform may do so, it might have been that said people may have lost the will to live and as a result their bodies broke down and well....the water is the blood of millions of dead humans....but thats just my thought :}

@huntco3 -The angels are humans without human form in other words, "Angels" are another form of humankind with the same potential as humans.

I always thought it was the meltwater from the ice caps that got destroyed in second impact messing up the ocean ecosystem, making a huge red tide or something.

That or the fan theory that Rebuild takes place after THIRD impact is right. The ocean was red at the end of End of Evangelion too.

@ChaosMugetsu Actually, the original sin referred to human life and all lillith based life. As lillith was not meant to be on Earth and was therefore a sin. The cleansed part refers to the Anti-A.T. field Adam extended as he attempted to reclaim the Earth, this killed every organism of life in the area, breaking down all their A.T. fields and reverting them to the Red liquid that constituted the sea in the rebuild. That is why the sea is red. (I think)

@huntco3 angels arnt presisely human but mankind collectively is another breed of angel with the gift of knoledge as opposed to the gift of life, so basicly mankind is one angel and an angel is a whole species (usually) in one body.

the water is red because of the emmense amounts of blood/primordial protoplasimwhatever that the angels are made of. basicly the oceians are filled with blood.

as for angels being gods/angels/codename its fair to belive whatever seems right to you.

@huntco3 Religious symbolism abounds, but it's all fairly superficial. Japanese media tends to use Western religion in a way analogous to Hollywood and Eastern spiritualism: it lends some exotic flair, but rarely any deeper meaning.

Take it as lightly as you wish. Personally, given the the series's bizarre mythology, I think it would be hard to take offense unless one really tries to.

Red oceans may some sort of reference to the TV series.

@huntco3 there are 18 angels in total each one what could have been humanity. however the 18'th is humanity. the water is only red in the new rebiuld movies and although i don not know why i can only speculate it is to show that the oceans are completely devoid of life.there are two movies out as of this moment and a third will be released in japan this fall.

I liked it. The music itself seems to fit in well with the whole preface of NGE, so good choice there, and the timing was pretty good. A lot of the scenes matched up with the general feeling of the song so good job, man. Well done.
