  • I was surprised they just included this on the Blu-Ray copy of Mortal Kombat as a bonus feature. All my sisters and I watched this before the movie, and thought, the movie can't be as bad as this.

  • Johnny Cage is my personal favourite.

  • The mexican version didn't have The behind the scenes, it has the ending of the first MK movie (Liu Kang Vs Shang Tsung).

  • @chaq686 Oh neat, good to know.

  • I'M SO JELOUS FROM YOUR ROOM

  • I want that Donkey Kong Acarde Please.

  • Did he scatch his LD? :)

  • Nice review.. I can remember when this came out in 1995 & i wasnt keen on seeing it then even tho im a huge fan of Mortal Kombat... now i've seen this review i know i didnt miss out on much by not seeing it.

Btw is that laser disc for real?... lol i have never seen one of those sized like that before & im not a youngster either i was in the 80's .. i guess these either never caught on n died fast or they never made it to the UK. It was always VHS as far as i can remember...

  • @shockz16 Yeah laser discs were HUGE in Japan in the US they did fairly decent but VHS was still the norm back then. Not sure how big it was in the UK.

  • I remember, back in the day, that the 3D scenes actually were praised in reviews, whereas the 2D animation was panned. But that's just in my parts.

  • I watched Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and then I watched this.

I forgot how often certain frames were reused, especially when it shows the following scenes...

-Goro ordering the Tarkatan Warriors to attack

-The Tarkatan Warriors running through the caves with Sub-Zero watching them

-Other various shots of groups of Tarkatan Warriors running

-Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and Sonya fighting the Tarkatan Warriors.

This movie could've been better if it were longer.

  • 1:28 to 2:20 it looks like thats how Hollywood would do that

  • lol that a glove

  • As far as a Mortal Kombat movie goes.

There is talk of a reboot (as in not a sequel to Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) Mortal Kombat movie.

Saw a link to a page with info about it, courtesy of TRMK and MK_Online on Twitter (both of whom I follow).

  • I seen this when i was little and i was like WTF mortal Kombat cartoon with little or no violence? LOL

  • FINISH HIM!

*chops some dude's head off with the laserdisc*

    FATALITY!

  • 0:31 - 1:08

awesome mortal kombat geek out session

    that was epic

    LOOK AT JOHNY CAGE.....KICK!

  • Wow, you sound like a real fanboy.

  • I have this movie on VHS.

I also have Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat Annihilation on VHS.

There was actually a time when I would watch this and then go play MK1 on my PS2.

I also wonder why Kano didn't appear at all in this. I bet a lot of Kano fans were pissed off about that.

  • Great video, good to see you guys on here again

  • ug not seeing that soon. looks horrible!!! cool laser disc though

  • I still have the VHS tape from 1995. I watched it a couple times - the CGI at that time was very interesting to me. I remember playing a demo for Tekken 2 for the PlayStation and thinking the CGI fight scenes in this video were kind-of a way to describe what the PlayStation was like to play.

I also had the casette of Mortal Kombat (basically music inspired by the game) - the first techno music I ever heard and, while cheesy, is still worth listening to.

  • Hmm... might have to hunt this down. Wonder if the Kung Lao losing to Goro is the same story as the novel... which by the way kicks all sorts of ass.

  • Damn, never heard of this, good thing too geez.

    Funny vid Ito, well made!

  • Johnny Cage likes like Plasticman in a couple of screens. Where's Hula-Hula and Penny?

  • laserdiscs are awesome xD

  • Looks awful, nice review.

  • I assume you were a Street Fighter kid then Ito?

  • OMG! That Laserdisc was huge! I thought that they started making them compact disc sized around the early ninties, obviously I was wrong

  • there are cd sized LD, but they could hold only about 5 min of Video. What you meant are Video Cds.

  • Slight mix-up. You mean CD Video (CDV) discs. Those were the smaller/CD sized laserdiscs, used mostly for single music videos, back in the day.

Video CDs (VCD) came out a few years later and it was an all-digital medium.

  • LoL yeah DVDs didn't come out till late 90s. That part where they tried to put into all those other players was hilarious!!!

  • I still have this tape!

  • awesome!
