Sorta funny. I had a friend who is doin' a bigbore (tri-z) kit just to keep up with my little Tecate. And another dude who bragged his 300r kit, I smoke both of them. In CA in 84'-87' Tecate's dominated 3-wheeler racing, with 1/10th the sponcered riders. Most privateers owned Tecate's because they're motors were race-ready and this isn't the only video. I am impartial to brand, but Tecates are the fastest, and that's Lopes, & his Tecate is very close to stock.
guys the tecate was the fastest trike off the showroom floor period ! sure you cold do things to either one to make it faster than the other but the kawasaki was faster off the showroom floor . BUT the 250r was more reliable ,the qualitly and the craftsmanship of the 250r was superior to the kawi .
Back when the tecate came out dirt wheels magazine bragged it up to be so great we had a large group of 250r 's myself having 5 of them our friends brought the tecates out and we raced over and over and switched riders over and over we had a stock tecate and a slightly built one and we had came to one conclusion the tecate owners sold their bikes and bought 85 and 86 250r s. I still have my 250r s but I wouldnt take a tecate if you gave it to me.
