I like the Beasties, but their mainstream appeal was that they took that uncut, unadulterated hip hop style, from the underground clubs and park jams in the Black/Latino hoods and made it edible for the suburban audience. The breakbeats, the Busy Bee style flow and the breakdancing is straight Bronx B-Boy shyt from back in the day. I know, when I was a youngin, my older cousin would take me to a few jams on Saturday afternoons.
