im using an ampeg 4x10 as my cabinet, and my head consists of: Kustom 1200W amp, Sansamp Rbi preamp, BBi sonic maximizer, korg tuner, and a power conditioner to make sure it all doesnt blow ha, but the sansamp rbi is the main peice i love telling people about, you get really good tones from it and its honestly the peice i love the most about my set up. if you were to ever upgrade and get some solid state amp then id recomment getting that.

i use ernie ball power strings, the gauges are pretty thick, they sound really good for metal and downtuning
