Until you people can guarantee to me that no wildlife will be killed by these things, you sure as hell aren't 'resolving' any matters. Yeah. Some shit in my garden is the last thing on my priority list. I see non-native predators rampaging outside, and I will encourage people to have animal control deal with them whenever I get the chance. And they will be killed. Gasp! @ebolaoutkast the animals that they are responsible for, it is a sad fact of life. I suggest they hop to it. But advocating letting these animals loose is, well, freakin selfish. I thought people at least had some level of respect for wild animals, but apparently pet cats get the first helping hand.

@ebolaoutkast @ebolaoutkast First of all I think you should reflect on what you are saying. I don't believe animal adovcates feel that anyone species should be terminated over another. The feral cat population is our creation, and there is a humane solution to the situation so why not follow that route?

@fortheluvofdogs Cats are our creations and yet we are still breeding them. Maybe if people focused on adopting instead of breeding cats they could adopt kittens off the street. I've spotted 2 strays around my house and I'm sure there will be more soon v_v Just the same as with invasive gypsy moths, in which no one cared when they were exterminated (I love bugs), there needs to be necessary action. They are feral invasive predators and it's totally unnatural.

They need to be cared for in order to have a decent life, and that just doesn't seem right to me. Pet cats should only be in the homes of the humans they came from. If spay neuter release actually worked then it would be fine, but I haven't heard of such successes. It just sounds like people would allow a 'stable' population of feral cats wherever they choose to live.

@fortheluvofdogs Also this video pissed me off because it said to tell people to 'keep their pet cats indoors' during the time they are capturing feral cats. If these people really cared about wildlife and keeping cats alive while not causing a problem they would advocate pet cats -indoors- only. There's no excuse for that.

@ebolaoutkast Needless to say, we don't have a cat problem per se, we have a people problem. Until people become responsible pet owners we're all screwed and especially those animals that are the product of them as they're the ones that have to pay the ultimate price by some humans wanting them dead.

@ebolaoutkast I suggest that you read about the dynamics of a colony and why this org. adovcates TNR. In a nutshell the program is not designed to "cultivate" the feral cat population, but to diminish it humanely. Pet cats, there are thousands of people who let their pet cats roam, which I find very irresponsible especially those cats that are unaltered. My cats are fixed and have a cat enriched courtyard in my yard where they can safely enjoy the outdoors.

I know what their plan is but it's never to actually try and eliminate the colonies. I don't think the problem will go away without manual removal included. Dogs and cats are being killed by the thousands every year in shelters and most people seem to accept that. I'm glad you promote indoor cats but this video and organization clearly doesn't. I'm currently feeding and plan on capturing a sub adult that lives near my house. I probably can't keep it but I hope at least to foster it.

@ebolaoutkast I'm not sure this is the right medium to carry on a forum, and I'm not great at splitting the messages..lol as I'm sure you can see. If the cat you trap is feral then don't plan on fostering, plus they'll teach you how miserable and often dangerous they are out of their own environment. I suggest you try and find a TNR group close to where you live and ask how you can help, this is the only real way to help solve the issue humanely.
