Omg huge fan of Perks! this is such a beautiful song and it makes me really think about life. I can see why it was Charlie's favorite. Thank you to Stephen Chbosky....I feel infinite. Thumbs up if you share my feelings
I came here because of the movie 'Sucker Punch'. Have never read the book everyone is refering to, but will be going to the library tomorrow morning to get it. I hope I like it.
I don't think many people realize the meaning of this song. It is my favorite song, it makes me cry, and I loved it before I read Perks... which coincidentally is my favorite book :)
"And all the books you've read have been read by other people. And all the songs you've loved have been heard by other people. And that girl that's pretty to you is pretty to other people. and that if you looked at these facts when you were happy, you would feel great because you are describing 'unity."
hahah i love how i come to this song because of reading "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and everyone else is also here because of the book xD it's great. made my day, really.
"Sam sat down and started laughing. Patrick started laughing. I started laughing. And in that moment, I swear we were infinite. Love always, Charlie" <3
I don't know about the book, but I,m pretty sure that this is a great, great song.. I'm a bit sleepy,.my brother used to sing me to sleep, not sing but tell me a story, just to make me feel a sleep, I miss that,.I'm good, but sleepy..The Smith...one word Beautiful.....
i finished the book last night and it feels like I lost a good friend...i don't know about you but i felt like i wanted to answer to his letters...it seemed so real
im so happy right now. im reading my favorite book perks of a wall flower for the third time. i feel connected and closer to the book when i listen to this song. i really like this song. i really love charlie. i love you charlie, im so glad you made friends. im so glad sam saw the good in you. and in this moment, i just feel infinite.
To all you youngsters - welcome to the Smiths. Would recommend you check out "There is a light that never goes out" amongst many other fabulous tracks that the group had written & performed.
It's such an amazing feeling when you read about a song in a book then come and listen to it. It becomes inifinite when you realise that there are other people who've done exactly the same thing.
@CARO032496 read it again, more carefully. I didn't get it the first time, but I think it's meant to be confusing. you just have to read it twice and think carefully on it.
i don't understand how the kid is a 'wallflower'- he has a solid group of friends who take him to lots of parties, the recognition of his teacher, and he likes trendy music and books?!! most of the stuff he encounters is very mildly dysfunctional. i don't get how it's a life changing book
Wallflower means you stand off to the side and let people live and work around you. You don't involve yourself much, and you just want everyone else to be happy.
@arlet44 Asleep was written by Johnny Marr and Morrissey, and recorded in London in 1985. It features on the compilation albums The World Wont Listen and Louder Than Bombs, and originally appeared as the B-side to The Boy With the Thorn in His Side. originally composed (in simpler form) as a coda to Suffer Little Children.
