  • It's quite sad tbh, such a good scene though!

  • I've watched the lion king almost every day throughout my childhood, I'm 14 now and this still gives me the shivers and touches my heart, what ever happened to Disney?<3

  • James Earl Jones should have played God in Bruce Almighty.

  • same voice as darth vader

  • 6 people are killd by darth vader

  • No...I am your father!

  • If I'm a father and I die for some reason and my children are going the wrong direction of life, I want to go to their dreams and do what Mufasa did.

  • Theres a message behind this scene in the film. Those who know about the 'Laws of Attraction' will know..

  • Remember Who You Are.....Me: Remember God Damnit REMEMBERR (Bawling My Eyes Out)

  • Lion King aka Hamlet for Kids

  • Lion King aka Hamlet for Kids

  • 0:23 a lesson to every person...

  • Simba! You are my son, and I AM YOUR FATHER!

  • @Graboooo: Uuuuggh.. god! LOL

  • QUICK! voice of God! James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman?

  • Rememba... rememba... rememba... FAME!

  • "You are more than what you have become."

This is all too true for modern day Disney (I.E. Hannah Whore-tanna and High School Musical)

DISNEY! YOU ARE MORE THAN WHAT YOU HAVE BECOME!

  • The music makes this scene legendary.

  • manly tears were shed..

  • Umm, hello, hi, god? Hey, hi, sorry to bug you, we need you to do a voice over for a cartoon. its pretty cool actually, about a lion, and a smaller lion, and a bad lion, basically about lions, but its really good...so what you say? It will be pretty quick don't worry

    God: remember who you are

    So...thats a no then??

God: who you kidding i looked into the future its going to be the greatest cartoon of all time ofcourse ill do it

  • @LilRoroEre it's This Land from the soundtrack :)

  • Nope..... Chuck Testa

  • Anyone remember this scene being a lot longer when you were a kid? I tell you what though...it hasn't lost its emotional power...makes me shiver every time...

  • EPIC video is epic

    youtube.com/watch?v=HxzzFsoa3JU

  • FUS RO DAH at 0:45?!?!?!

  • whats the song called?

  • @LilRoloEre this land

  • man, simba hasnt got shit! mufasa all the way!!

  • *sniffs* Fucking Scar..

  • Best. Scene. Ever

  • i like this part so much becase i will see mufasa again.

  • POWERFUL!

  • maybe I should rephrase it to, if God had a voice, it would would sound like Mufasa

  • This... is CNN

  • Irony is when Darth Vader becomes Mufasa while Luke Skywalker becomes The Joker.

  • This made me cry as well as a child.

  • you are the one true King, the Chosen One, to bring back the balance to the force

  • Mufasa is alive again!?!?! Nope, Chuck Testa

  • Why does youtube not have a repeat setting?!?!?

  • James Earl Jones is an extremely talented man.

  • Somehow I always think of Darth Vader when i watch this scene. Probably because in The Empire, Darth Vader tells luke he is his son, like mufasa does to simba. That, or the fact that James Earl Jonas voiced both of them

  • still gives me the chills id get ever since i first saw this as a kid. good ol' days.

  • what a beautiful scene, he finally realises he is the son of musafa and the one and only king

  • I like the background song. Does anyone know the name?

  • @pepeowen Lion king: This land

  • @pepeowen it's called This Land by Hans Zimmer :)

It's gotta be one of the best soundtracks in the world!

  • WTF 6 DISLIKES, They are not more then what they became!

  • No, God's voice would be James Earl Jones', Optimus Prime's, and Aslan's voice all rolled into one. lolz

  • Ferris Buhler is that you?!

  • @dbizzlee Yup, Matthew Broderick is Simba. :)

  • mufasa reminds me of GOD kind of

  • @frtmp

OH my god I can sooo imagine how you feel about that...exactly when he says remember! oh my god...that tremble in the voice

  • FACT lion king isnt the best disney film of all time, its the best film of all time.

  • idk what it is, but this scene reminds me of God. Love it.

  • i wish i had a voice like mufasa lol

  • simba, I am your father

  • seriously, if God had a voice, he would sound like James Earl Jones

  • @nobodysperfect06 so fucking true!! he has the most incredible voice!!

  • @nobodysperfect06 if there is a god*

  • @nobodysperfect06 or morgan freeman

  • @nobodysperfect06 either James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman

  • @Yardnoc3103 yeah, also, i'm not sure if God is supposed to be referred to as Male or Female, or Hermaphrodite, although most people would say Male, but they say God created Man in it's own image

  • @nobodysperfect06 Morgan Freeman is God. James Earl Jones' alluring voice is just perfect for Satan.

  • @nobodysperfect06

    or Morgan Freeman

  • I like the part where they show the lion talking to the other lion.

  • the 5people who dislike this can go f*ck themselfs ^^,

  • 0:34 still gives me goosebumps all these years later....

  • Evil flourishes when good men do nothing and all those years when Simba was with Timon and Pumbaa he did nothing and didnt care about anything. Thats why his dad said "You are more than what you have become." Its also how Scar almost destroyed pride rock. Hakuna Matata isnt a good thing when you think about it.

  • 0:35

that is exactly wow I imagine God

  • My nipples were hard.

  • DISNEY,REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE

  • THIS IS CNN..... CNN........ CNN

  • "....What was DAT?! Haha! The weather.... pfflech! Very peculiar.... don't you think?"

  • I have NEVER had that intense goosebumps in my entire life...

  • This movie is in the heart of all people born in the 80's and 90's & the parents who watched it with them. Whenever I see this movie the child in me starts crying again. And the adult in me wants to make sure my children will watch this, too.

  • "Don't Leave Me!"

*Cries... again after all these years after seeing it for the first time in 1994*

  • If only someone came out off the sky for me losing my mum and sister 8 and 1 year ago aint great :(

  • the music in the background is what gets to me.

  • I....FUCKING...GOT.... GOOSE BUMBS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @qwqwq2000 Dude.. You ain't the only one!

  • If The Oscars had accepted the idea of animated movies being eligable for Best Picture in the 90's, I have no doubt that the Lion King would not only have been nominated, but would've won too. It was certainly a better choice than Forrest Gump.

  • Walt Disney: You have forgotten me

Disney workers of today: No! How could we?

WD: You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourselves. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the circle of life.

DWT: How can we go back? We aren't who we used to be.

WD: Remember who you are. You are my children and the one true heirs. Remember... Remember

  • This brings me to the brink of tears every time.

  • Great coming of age story; haven't we all at some point lost our way and needed a voice to bring us back?

  • Disney....do you remember who you are ?

  • "Oh btw, Scar killed me"

  • This right here, this scene will stay with me for the rest of my life. It's part of the reason as to why the Lion King movie was among my most prized pocessions as a child. <3

  • One of the greatest moments in cinematic history.

  • I just love the part when Simba responds "No! How could I" after his father tells him he has forgotten him, that it's impossible for him to forget the times he had with his father, simply awesome.

  • whats the soundtrack?

  • i love the lion king

  • Not sure if alive or Chuck Testa.

  • When did movies stop having profound scenes such as these where the language used is far superior than the language used today? It seems like the movies today never have any important messages except stealing money, killing, getting hot women(which isn't so bad), and a bunch of other senseless shit. Not to mention 9 in every 10 movies are remakes.

  • Children: Disney, you have forgotten us.

    Disney: No how could I

Children: You have forgotten who you are and so forgotten us. Look inside yourself Disney, you are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life.

Disney: How can I go back? I'm not who i used to be.

Children: Remember who you are. You are our son and the one true King.

    Children: Remember...... Remember....

  • @Limuel831 Lol. Nice one. But technically it should be Walt Disney talking to his successors, the Disney workers of the present day. Just my opinion.

  • @Limuel831 If you see the comment I put... no copying intended just thought of disney and today and put that

  • @Limuel831 So true mate!

  • @Limuel831 Hahaha!!!That's FREAKING funny!!!Hahahaha!!What gave you the idea???

  • this scene was awesome but was kinda scary for me at the time

  • James Earl Jones = voice of God.

  • I love this scene, powerful words of Wisdom and it's very touching too!!

  • cryyyyyyyyyy

  • This scene and the ending when Mufasa says Remember always give me the chills. beautiful classic moments.

  • Music gives me chills

  • :'(

  • The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.

  • I hope this doesn't make me a religious nutball, but whenever I see this scene, it always reminds me of God speaking to us when we've fallen away, begging us to come back.

  • this got me man... who's cutting the onions..

  • When Mufasa says... "REMEMBER... who you are... you are my son... AND THE ONE TRUE KING..."

    Goosebumps everywhere...

  • @frtmp

James Earl Jones' voice + Hans Zimmer's music...

  • Mufasa<33

  • Got me crying now

  • WHHYY MUFASA WHYYY!!!! D'=

  • 5 ppl can't remember who they are.

  • @funnyfartsmakemehapy It almost never happened too. Originally Mufasa was neither seen nor heard again after his death. The "he lives in you" thing wasn't so literally portrayed. In the end they wanted Simba to see his father one last time so this is one of the last scenes added to the movie. While I like the less literal concept too I think this is definitely more upbeat and flows better, especially compared to the melancholy though powerful "search Alternate Simba Decides To Return" scene.

  • the best scene in the movie.

  • a beautiful, epic, tear jerking moment. grand animation, imagination, and song. this is the very essence of cinema at it most creative.

  • @lefrogofthefire I have to disagree with the "most creative" part of that comment, as it was pretty obviously stolen from 'Kimba the White Lion'.

  • @Zarademus good artists copy. great artists steal.

  • I'm so glad I saw this film in a completely empty theater when I was 28. I had lost my father when I was 10, and this scene absolutely pierced me to my soul. Up to that point I had been living a very lost, aimless life, searching for an identity, a life, a reason for being. It was almost as if my own father was speaking directly to me through this animated character. I was a blubbering mess.

The interesting part? My father's zodiac sign was, and mine is, Leo.

  • @SchoolofSoul doesn't make you any less of a man! I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

  • @SchoolofSoul I lost my father at 16, after that, I started to forget who I am. Whenever I see this scene, all I could think about was my father and I was completely silent watching this scene and listen as if my father was speaking to me. When you lose a father, you lose who you are and it may take a while to get it all back.

  • @SchoolofSoul your comment just wow me amazing dude

  • @SchoolofSoul i know exactly what you mean..i lost my father just before this movie came out and not a day has gone by when i watch this movie or these seens were tears aren't streaming from my eyes. no matter how hard i try, i just cant control it

  • @SchoolofSoul Mabe that was god speaking to you? god wanted to put you on the right path?

you should have faith in jesus ..gods only begotton son who died

and pray to god, and you will find your purpose !!

    god bless you :) xx

  • @WweMariaa - That' s certainly a possibility as well! Not to worry, though - I've been saved, and I have a great relationship with Jesus now.

  • @SchoolofSoul when was u saved?

  • @SchoolofSoul Wow, I hope you're doing okay now.

  • @Pevensify - LOL, oh yeah, I'm fine now! When I saw it was way back in, like, early 1995. Right before the video came out. So I've grown quite a bit since then.

  • @SchoolofSoul Oh, that's good to hear. =)

  • @SchoolofSoul Dude that made me all teary eyed.

  • @SchoolofSoul

Even the humbliest of people have a cause, a reason for existing, and sometimes we just need a message to remind us of what that cause is and what we're doing wrong; the message can have any voice and come from any speaker or any place.

Thank you so much for posting your story. I hope it inspires others who are lost, confused, and alone.

  • umm hamlet anyone?

  • This is why Disney will always be the king of animation.

  • Easily one of the most powerful scenes in animated film history

  • Mufasa's Force Ghost

  • No Simba... I am your father!

  • "this is CNN"

  • im 18 now and this film still makes me cry when he dies xxxx

  • @eboooo The guy who did the voice for Darth Vader did Mufasa.

  • I cry like crazy whenever I see this. And I've watched it like 100 times.

  • Absolutely love it when he says " Remember who you are. You are my son, and the one true king. Remember who you are." " Remember. Remember. Remember "

Always cry and get goosebumps. Makes me love my dad even more.

  • thumbs up when your older as 14 andstill like this movie. 90s 4ever

  • Mufasa: (As he disappears) Wait! I forgot one last detail! It was --(Voice fading)-- Scar who killed me...

Simba: What? I didn't get that last part! Father! Wait!

  • somewhere in the future when i watch this with my kid i'm gonna be balling my eyes out cause my dad and i always used to watch this together

  • 0:43

  • perfect choice of voice for mufasa!

  • 5 people dont remember who they are

  • @amazingwill1

Mufasa is played by james earl jones; the guy who played darth vader :)

Mufasa is my favorite character in my favorite film

  • this was simply mufasa in spirit form

    if anyone didn't know that.

  • U must take ur place in the circle of life... How can I go back I'm not who I use to be...:) favorite part

  • See, everyone always goes on about Mufasa's death being the moment that stands out in the Lion King, but this...for me, Disney never, ever got better than this.

  • MUFASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

  • How would Shakespeare feel knowing that Disney used him as inspiration for The Lion King? (It's based on Hamlet)

  • This is the single most epic moment in the entire history of movies/cartoons ever.
