Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story Weiner......are you going to get Obamacare or are you, like your Republican/Democrat friends, going to keep your gold plated congressional healthcare plan? Typical left/right paradigm nonsense....there is no difference between the parties it is a charade.
What a despicable character......his problems couldn't have happened to a better person. Burn in hell you class warfaring big government lying scumbag.
@Vanoffy What is your problem? Relax. That guy has been fighting to get you the same medical options as your cadre's in Congress, he didn't say left/right. What he said was the Republicans don't want you to have what they have, and it's true. It's not lying.
Government healthcare isn't what the congress or the senate has. It's a choice of plans that are ran by private companies.. government is just a company that pays good money for its employees.
@Chslosers Source? Btw, I've been on government run healthcare my entire life (dependant of a 25 year Air Force veteran), and it works. In fact, the only thing it doesn't cover in full is dental. Which actually really hurt our wallet when I needed braces.
@TheKevinWalker Right.. and the military spends an enormous amount of it's revenues in doing what you just said. The problem with government healthcare including that which congress receives is this.. congressman/tax payers pay into the system just like private insurance but when the government tells you it has the money to subsidize itself they are technically lying as in fact they are really just putting the financial burden on tax payers who pick up the tab.
@Chslosers The idea of government run health care isn't that it's free, it's that everyone pays into the system, or, at least everyone on the government plan (I don't believe in single-payer, I believe in the "public option"). The idea is also to run the plan as a non-profit, and to have it be better than most privately run plans (cover more at less cost and not drop you), which will force private companies to change policy to compete. Currently, HI isn't about HC, it's about profit.
@TheKevinWalker almost every government program such as the postal service loses money each year. So a non profit would have to be budget neutral which will never happen.
@Chslosers Bad example. The Postal service is commisioned by the US Congress, but it is a private sector firm, more or less. It is not headed by a cabinet member, and the only government involvement is rules that they are allowed to set, much like the private sector regulations congress passed in this new HC bill. And frankly, if G-R programs are losing money, it's because taxes aren't high enough, that's the only possible reason a government program can lose money.
@Chslosers Perfectly said. The bill wasn't good, but it is better than what we originally had. It is a step in the right direction and with more push and influence from the public, we could press to keep changing it. The internet is the best way to communicate and pass idea's. Thus, the FCC trying to censor the internet.

@Cocobear- The Opt out clause has not been retracted so if you and your state is in opposition of the bill, bring it to your Senators and Governor. 2nd, you speak of what they're "forcing" upon you-how about you stop being self centered and realize that if someone shows up at a federally subsidized hospital without insurance they are required by law to care for them (EMTALA). Guess who ends up paying for that? I'm NOT content with my tax dollars paying for those who CHOOSE not to have insurance!
@beatsbytheory ..but your content bailing out some banks so they can passivly fund the biggest drug syndicate in the world? I mean, yeah i guess if i paid taxes i would be pissed about helping others out! There's nothing that makes me more mad then seeing another succeed from my generocity! Your fucking comment/mindset is why we fucked the british up. That... and bullshit private banks. Wait, the the federal reserve private? Really? Revolution time? Where's all the freedom fighters?
@DAKMAIN--How did you conclude that I was content with bailing out the banks?! I was completely against it but I understand how devastating the consequences would be. Those banks were the depository of some of the richest people in this country including: Athletes, actors, housing investors, Congressmen and average middle class folks. If they weren't bailed out the following "Bank runs" would've created even more severe regional or national recessions/depressions as they have in banking history.
People with lots of cash have incredible insurance when it comes to banks. See, rich bastards can't spend all that money too fast, so the dollars they put in will, 95% of the time, be transferred from here to there and yada with the bank receiving interest. Now if a bank failed, the money wouldn't just vanish! It would already be gone! I highly doubt the free enterprise system would fault. We'd see people fill that void almost immediately. Hopefully with quality and sincere concern.
@DAKMAIN--1st. Millionaires do not have "incredible" insurance, they're protected up to the amount the FDIC chooses. At the time of the bailout Bush raised it to 250K from 100K. If you were a that wealthy and a bank told you "You can only get 250k of your 2.5 million balance" riots would follow, hence, the wealthy have multiple acct's country/world wide. You've failed to accept banking history, i.e. the bank run of 1930 and the following results. In the U.S., the big banks come 1st (cont)
@DAKMAIN-and if they fail, the smaller banks suffer the most due to the Fed deflating the money supply which trickles down into the economy creating recessions; a process defined as the "Business Cycle", which is what we are experiencing now. The only other savior of a failing big bank is a well off smaller bank/investor willing to absorb the debts which is rare during unemployment/foreclosure hikes due to lack of credit consumption. History doesn't lie, people would lose millions.
"History doesn't lie, people would lose millions."
Yes, people would lose millions. Us, the 'poor' the 'middle class,' not the rich. Each depositor is insured to at least 250k as a base model. If you only had $44,000 in there that's all you'd get. The more you deposit, the more you get back. As you deposit more, the offers for extra security fly at you, for a nominal fee, nowhere near what you may stand to lose. They don't call the rich privileged for no reason.
We only stand to lose millions because that money saved is devalued, and can no longer be saved. At some point the fed decides it's time to ramp up gold to make the dollar weaker and make us spend! When inflation goes up and you pay triple for a loaf of bread, then as inflation goes down our dollar is back. How is it that the dollar we see is worth less when there is more? This is why they got rid of the gold standard and pushed us into a wall street clusterfuck.
Sorry to double post but you can't write enough as to how a bank fucks the middle class. Ever met a rich man without any friends? Rare! Would our economy be worse than now had they not been bailed out? No, because that's really up to our 'personal' private bank. Say all you want against that comment, but it's not a fallacy. The rich would get their money back, which makes the banks more money by the tens (of people) than then the millions. We're the ones paying the interest, in whos interest?
he didn't address the new law in healthcare doc. that reads if you don't get ins. you will be fined $25,000 or 5 yrs. in prison so much for the constitution !
Are all democrats Stupid like obama? What a complete Idiot. Do they not get it? The America people do not want a government plan. Leave our healthcare system alone. If you want to help. Then let us buy insurance across state lines. Then it will be more competitive and more affordable. We should never elect idiot lawyers to run our country. Only business people know how to run a company/country.
Of course they get it. They know EXACTELY what they are doing. AIG is government owned (bailout). 27 members of congress allegedly own stock. Top five is ahem... Two senators got >101,000 dollars bonus after the first bail out last year. They are, ahem.... google it, then do some deeper research. It's hard, but keep digging.
Google how much medicaid and medicare pays compared to others and compare. It's a no brainer. Govt owned insurance company vs 130 private owned.
During the campaign, a room full of Obama groupies was asked to name one accomplishment of his. No one could. See this video: Name an accomplishment by Obama, part II. Now almost 1 yr after becoming president, still no positive accomplishment. Remember Reagan's question to voters about Jimmy Carter? Are you better off because of Jimmy Carter's presidency? Here's my question: How's that hope and change working out for you?
WTF are you talking about? To date President Obama has fulfilled 47 of his campaign promises. And this Saturday, the House will be signing a wonderful healthcare reform bill. By the end of the year, President Obama will be signing it. Hope and change? The majority of Americans asked for it!
Obama campaigned on HOPE and CHANGE, but he is governing as chicken little. Have you noticed everything is a crisis? So he is not your usual chicken little that is running around screeching that the sky is falling. He is actively working to make sure that it falls.
It's ridiculous childish bantering. My neighbors and I are not of same party but we are friends. We agree on some things, disagree on others, and are friends.
Divided Kingdoms fall. Weiner needs to get a grip.
Ask them why some of them own stock in AIG? Now why are they forcing public option insurance sales? Where does the money go first? How much, before 2013, goes to paying out the stock to 27 members and pay a little back to USA, and their other endeavors?
it's all groups that are "invented" and pushed and publicized by the state to pit us all against one another... and when we are against one another, it allows them to gain power and we lose liberty
To student303 -- Try tort reform - until we put a cap on the outrageous settlements that are awarded to plaintiffs, health care costs will continue to climb. There is no downside to someone deciding, for whatever reason, to sue a medical entity. There is no upfront cost to plaintiff and if he loses, he's just out the time spent. If a failed lawsuit results in a plaintiff having to pay court costs for both sides, we'd see a lot less litigation. The public option is a losing proposition.
Tort reform is a good idea, i agree that it is needed, but isn't the insurance company benefiting from this instead of the people?
Also, how is the public option a losing proposition? This is not going to be a free plan, people are going to have to pay monthly for it.
From my understanding, there is going to be a pool with different companies competing therefore it's going to make them offer better coverage than the public option. Public option is the only way atm to stop insurance hikes.
1990 pages of more liberal lies to read now that pelosi and 'revealed' her plan.
My god lets move on please. America does not want you libtards destroying anything else. Get you lawyer, union and Hollywood drones to pay for it. Im broke. ANYONE who thinks that Washington can solve this issue is as stupid as an empty beer can. Stop blaming Bush and the republicans. You idiots are in control try convincing more of your own and stop the 'blame game'. I know that it maybe be a bit hard.
Lets make it real simple. Give us what ALL of you have, not just what the republicans have. Guess you failed to mention that little weiner. Give me exactally what you jerks get and Ill agree to that plan. Anything less and you can shove it.
And another thing....why don't all of pay Social Security taxes like we have to, and maybe, just maybe, that will help with the deficit we have in SS? Duh!
Weiner is the truth, for the people who think a public option is not the way to bring down the cost of healthcare, please post a solution to bring down healthcare, or do you like paying up 500 plus a month for health insurance?
BTW, buying across state lines is a good idea to bring cost down, but will it bring cost down like a public option?
The Republicans have no plan, but at least they don't hide their fealty to big business interests. Public option is a good step (if it's available to enough people), but health insurance is relatively easy to deal with. The 800-pound-gorilla is that 30% of all health care expenditures are wasted on unnecessary procedures. 30% of all costs is $800 billion. But, of course, improving efficiency in health care delivery will takes years, but that my friend is the real threat.
Jeez, Nan. I had a look at your vid list, and I didn't see your "Nancy Pelosi Says C.I.A. Lied to Congress About Torture" or Diane Watson "Congresswoman Praises Fidel Castro and Race Baits Healthcare Debate" or "Barack Obama on Government Transparency " or NUTHIN. Whassup with that, poptart?
These are the people who gave Cash for Clunkers and who gave us 11% of the promised Swine Flu Vaccinations, yet Odumbo declares a national emergency and his daughters do not even have the shots yet but they want you to get the shot? Whats up with that? If they cannot keep their promise to deliver sufficient flu shots, on time and under budget what do you think public option healthcare will look like? Better yet think of single payer as Odumbos Katrina but on a national scale
The republicans are going to be out in full force now trying to scare folks again... but most folks are on to them and sick of all their crap. They are nothing but clowns.
If you support the public option please visit the comment section of my profile for brand new petitions and ways to get involved. There is a lot of stuff going on right now and time is of the essence.
So you'd rather bring back moronic psycho boy bush right...you morons support brainless idiots like extremely bright bimbo's like palin and MAnn Coulter and the like...complete dumb-shits.

There is a lot of stuff going on right now and time is of the essence.

hmm let me think...why yes, I think I do! But I *heart* Grayson too, I swear I do. :) Stay tuned, lots more coming re:Alan. Just a few more days.
And you are more than welcome to support the Dynamic Duo's campaign, Skyman. I expect Weiner will be overjoyed, he just loves Grayson.
Do you suppose Alan will have to fund that one himself too?
