  • keeping handbrakes locked when moving the cars gives them flat spots.

  • What the "flat wheels" means?

  • @Dinosbacsi That means that the wheel isn't fully circled. Can't been from here, but the wheels are not good and need replacement

  • Yep, sounds like a flat spot on a wheel, often nicknamed "flat tire" by railroad mechanics. Basically in the shop, the axle is dropped, and replaced with another axle wheel set. The treadwear on both wheels of the the axle with the "flat tire is measured. If they're still within specs, the flat wheel will be grounded and the axle put into storage as a spare replacement unit. There are variations of this procedure.

  • its not a flat but simaliar its called a flat spot and when the train is entering the station it sounds like a earthquake nice video

  • i never knew trains can get flat wheels.

  • not like a car tho lol, but rather the changing of the wheel shape..

  • bent metal i guess

  • @bebo2good1

Probably the flat wheel was caused by heavy braking

  • @theWell think of a Flat wheel on a train as a Brake refused to release correctly so that wheel was dragging against the Rails for a long period of times
