  • ... So.... I didn't really hear any curve balls in this song..... Velocity on the other hand..... HUGE curveball when the chorus drops out of nowhere and Morean does that MIND BLOWING solo out of nowhere.

  • Saw these guys with Neuraxis the faceless and Cannibal corpse these guys smoked the faceless and neuraxis. Not to mention they were some of the nicest dudes I ever met

  • Saw these guys at The Haven Lounge on 12/4/11 with Abysmal Dawn and Enfold Darkness. Freaking amazing.

  • Cynic-like

  • DAT BASS

  • Very trippy.. then amazingly chaotic too.

  • @xADEAN4DIMEx The black dahlia murder is melodic death metal/metalcore.

  • One of the the most beautiful Solos!!!!!!

  • Chuck Schuldiner would be proud.

  • obviously death influence, but you can hear the vocals sound similar to cynic aswell pretty awesome!!

  • This computer's speakers can never do this band justice

  • Jeroen Paul Thesseling... the best bass

  • @AlexisShapeShifter Iono man.. Forest from Beyond Creation is pretty kickass too.

  • Great bass lines all over this album! He did some cool work on Pestilence's "Spheres" album but it shines with Obscura!! Amazing....from this bassist perspective!

  • just ordered cosmogenesis and omnivium can't wait til i find dat shit in my mail box.

  • the bass is better than the guitar

  • amazing, can't believe this doesn't have more views

  • chuck schuldiner would headbang to this for sure

  • i can hear cynic, death, AND the faceless influences (may because faceless plays a lot of cynic influenced music) haha.

    obscura \m/

  • Words cannot describe how amazing this song is.

And wow, never listened to this one on Youtube, just a reminder as to how much its quality in general sucks.

  • the robot vocals give me goosebumps

  • @JamalBojangles The way a vocoder should be used, instead of for fake singing for rappers without a voice etc.

You should check out Cynic. Sounds like they're a decently big influence to Obscura.

  • @jan1080 Cynic is the fucking shit. I wana see them live real bad

  • This is overstimulating, if I listen to this I get spasms :S.

had to pause and lower the volume

That means this is a really fucking good song.

  • hahah is obscura like a geometry metal class!!

  • love tech death *ç*

  • why is so hard for me to understand lyrics. Does someone know what they mean anyways? other than that I love Obscura's music

  • @basspl4y4 google is your friend.

  • @basspl4y4 They're talking about the Noosphere, which is the sum total of interacting human thought, like the Biosphere is the total of life. Part of the idea of the Noosphere is that after we reach a certain nexus or saturation point identities will dissolve and we will become a perfect being, like a God. It's explored a lot in different novels like Hyperion and Blood Music, by Simmons and Bear respectively. Wikipedia "Technological Singularity" or "Noosphere." Peace

  • finally a band to combine Cynic and Death into a masterpiece that still sounds original

  • going to a concert to see the black dahlia murder and three other bands including obscura HELL YA

  • @animefreak12o fuckin augury to it was sick

  • @skatehead64 hell ya it was, you go?

  • @animefreak12o You had me at The black Dahlia Murder. \m/

  • @animefreak12o I went to the one in Chicago. Pretty sick. Crowd went NUTS for Obscura and BDM.

  • @ProkreatedThrash Strange. Not similar crowds, i would expect?

I always thought of BDM being more of a core-ish death metal band.

I wouldn't place obscura and and BDM in the same tier, with this song being a prime example why.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, just different.

Either way, nice post, thanks for supporting exposure of a great band! \m/

  • @overlord3069 Surprisingly the crowds were pretty similar. There weren't even a lot of scene kids there. I don't think I mentioned that Augury was among the bands at that concert.

  • @ProkreatedThrash Another fantastic band i missed by a sliver at studio 7 :(

  • @overlord3069 bdm isnt really deathcore at all. they may have a few songs that draw influences from the genre, but as far as them being deathcore, i wouldnt say so. there actually very good.

  • @overlord3069 the only thing core thing about tbdm is there fans cuz there isnt nething core about their music. fucking hate when scene kids bring down good bands

  • @overlord3069 IDK, as an avid hater of Core, I LOVE BDM, I don't think they're core at all.

  • @HybridGamingNation Well, i do enjoy some of BDM's music but they have some core influences throughout that kind of bother me. I still think they are a great band though.

  • @overlord3069 diversity is the word my friend, dont think so much. they are both great bands... i would have to disagree any affiliation between bdm and "core" tho its death metal fool

  • @420ibanezz well breakdown = core. Any kind of breakdown is a core style of playing, no doubt about that. BDM i find favorable more than other core influenced bands, but even still, they are NOTHING alike to obscura. Their complexity and composition of music is far more advanced.

  • @overlord3069 chill no bands are really alike just listen to music because its good and dont worry so much about what its labeled. and theres a difference between a "breakdown" and just some good riffage. when i hear "breakdown" i think of some douches open palm muting it up. like fuckin suicide faggots in silence or some shit.however almost every metal band has slow parts you could call a "breakdown" even bands like megadeth, morbid angel, suffocation, death any band

  • @420ibanezz lol your shitting out of your mouth. some bands are alike and some bands aren't. BDM and obscura are worlds apart; if you arent intelligent enough to decipher the differences than nobody can help you. When i think of breakdowns, i think of one ugly distorted note getting played over and over again. Calling every slow part of a song a breakdown is just ignorant and incorrect. A breakdown when in used in context concerning metal is only referring to one particular sound. Figure it out

  • @overlord3069 all the bands i listen to sound different to me. they are different people with different minds. only reason i said all that is because i took you calling TBDM "core" as an insult to them. name one of their songs where they sit there open muting the shit outta their guitars looking all gay like those punkass core bands do. idk man just figure yourself out you sit on the computer using big words trying to sound all smart about music when i bet you dont even play an instrument

  • @420ibanezz then you would lose your bet. I've been playing drums my entire life. Thats what got me into tech death; i like off-tempo and complicated fast playing styles. I was drawn into this kind of music through my instrument, and it grew on me from that. I probably wouldnt like it as much if i didnt play an instrument. Listen, Im not trying to blast BDM, i think their an ok band, but they just have characteristics in their music that just get really old and cliche. Thats my opinion.

  • @overlord3069 haha ya watever good for you man

  • @overlord3069 The black dahlia murder is melodic death metal/metalcore. Obscura deserves better than to share a stage with BDM.

  • @CaliSourDiesel thats what i think too :D

  • @overlord3069 yeah but they're both so fucking talented. i'm glad they toured together.

never got to see obscura live. but i just saw BDM back in June here in Az. i walked home drunk as fuck still screaming "the window" lmao.

  • @overlord3069 not really. i would find it strange if macabre, exhumed, or cattle decapitation did a tour with job for a cowboy or black dahlia murder. the crowd would be at each others throats for those kind of shows.

  • @overlord3069

    BDM isn't a core band.

  • @animefreak12o that seems like a pretty awesome show

  • @animefreak12o Yes!!!

  • huh? who doesnt like obscura

  • awesome base!!

  • @Harsu Yeah the BASE in this song is great. The BASE is nice in Incarnated also

  • @inuboy23 You know it's bass, right?

  • @ProkreatedThrash Yeah I know, the reason I did that is because I read a comment where it seemed that the writer didn't know the difference between base and bass. I was emphasizing the incorrect spelling hoping that the person would realize their mistake. Thanks though

  • @ProkreatedThrash He knows how to spell it. He's making fun of Harsu.

  • @ProkreatedThrash He knows how to spell it. He's making fun of Harsu.

  • @ProkreatedThrash With the way he capitalized it, I would assume he was either mocking someone or being facetious.

  • @ProkreatedThrash touche

  • @ProkreatedThrash He did that on person because the person he was talking to spelled it wrong.

  • good band an nice playing:P! keep it uppp! im a big fan :P:)
