The E46 looks much more robust than the E36 IMHO. I would put in the Signature Motoring performance intake kit for only around $150 and gain up to 13HP on the stock output for the 330i and a bit less for the 325 and 328. I highly recommend this item, see my youtube channel for the action video on it.

@NUMBERoneCANIAC lol actually i replaced the water pump on it and all you had to remove was the cooling fan, drive belt, 4 pulley bolts, and the pump itself.. def wasnt bad at all. after doing the damn head gasket on the car, everything else is cake

Sounds awsome but i know i got you beat. My 330 has factory headers and all cats but flowmaster outlaw and bigger pipes with that deep rumble and sounds much beter. Best of all...no hassle with shipping. walked into the shop and customized it myself and watched as $367 transformed my ride. Best investment i ever made. Check it out for yourself.

Headers on an M54 e46 will yield about 15-20hp gain, cat back exhaust wont yield nearly anything.

For the ebay headers comments, talk to someone that knows something, they are some of the best headers you can buy they just don't cost $2000.

I think he means what brand of headers, I'm pretty sure Ebay didn't start manufacturing headers for BMW's.

They are made like supersprint headers. But, I think from china. Most bmw forums find them adequate and a good performance / sound boost for sub 100 dollars. Just make sure they send you the right ones. That is really the only issue, getting an 325i instead of a 330i by mistake. They exchange, just a pain.

Do you know how well they hold up to Road salt and snow and stuff?

I guess whati meant by that is that yes they my give equal performance as the supersprints but do they hold up as well?

They will hold up great because you have to get them ceramic coated or such.

The stock headers come with heat shielding.

These do not. So, you have to wrap them or get them ceramic coated.

Both are cheap, but I prefer the ceramic coating.

It would hold freaking awesome if you did that. Which you should.
