I missed this on Idol and see I didn't miss much. Megan is not a good singer at all, especially on this. Just shows the difference between amateurs and pros like Vince Gill and Dolly Parton who did it on Steve's CD. Sorry...but that's how I hear it.
I appreciate and respect her ability to sing, but she did it all wrong. She all but shouted this song, and tried to rock n roll it. It doesn't work for this song at all. Oddly enough as a die hard Grass fan, I never liked Dolly or Vince doing grass, but they just owned this song.
I can't put my finger on it however I really like the way Megan sang this song she really nailed it... What a fantastic song hope it puts Steve Martin on the map of the music industry.
I thought this was the best part of the final show. I had it on DVR, but my DVR broke. The story is quite innocent and I liked the way Steve Martin looked like a dotting father over his two kids. It's too bad I can't find the original video here on YouTube. Was so cool.
