  • Wow Matthew! So eloquent...perfect. Your mother was amazing as you are now. So proud to say I know you

  • I wish he was my Long Island assemblyman, and I'm a heterosexual white middleclass female. Bravo! I'm SO sick and tired of discrimination in all of its forms.

  • Thanks for this eloquent and meaningful speech. It is absurd that some people can think of gay people as other than worthy of the same citizenship rights that are taken for granted by other citizens. There is no reasonable excuse for bigotry, which wanting to withhold rights from some segment of the citizenry is, by definition.

  • God bless you and your family in this time of loss.

It is God's will that Liberty and Justice for all becomes the rule of our land. For those on the fence; ask yourself if your faith promotes inequality, stereotyping, and violence against people who are gentle and loving.

Do you really believe the stereotypes being cast against the LGBT people of your community? We are your sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, teachers, coworkers. Please be kind. Vote for Equality.

  • There should be American Citizen Rights, for ALL American citizens, not just white heterosexual male citizens. Women have slowly started to get some of the same rights and black people as well, but LGBT are still refused their American born rights in their own country.

  • wha an eloquent speech for tolerance and love. we are so proud of you.

  • incredible speech - wow.

  • That's my honorable cousin - so proud of you Matt!
