  • Its a great clipper. I love using it, but I have noticed that it gets hot after about 12 mins-15mins.

  • I buzz my own hair at home and I am looking to upgrade from

and andis hair trimmer I purchased for $25 I only use it once every 3 to

4 weeks what do you think it will be a good upgrade or should I get the

    andis master clippers?

  • aye, im from Detroit and i've got the Speedmaster I which works great but the trimmer is way too slow to get the type of precision lineup its supposed to give me... is there a way to adjust the speed of the trimmer and if so, how?

  • @Drumminz22 Man you need to just invest in a T-Outliner. you can get them cheap on Ebay if you are willing to bid. It normally goes for 75 in shops, but I grabbed my Speedmaster II and T-outliners for less than half the M.S.R.P. I also continue to buy my replacement blades for both on Ebay as well.

  • Nevermind I found the answer - Search for Andis Item# 24410 or search for Vue Master replacement blade 24410. This will get you the ceramic version that you can't find in stores.

  • i hate the speed master lol i need to get sum improved masters

  • hi im from the uk. i just bought an andis trendsetter pivot clipper that i think you guys call andis speedmaster in the u.s. anyway I have been a barber for 20 years and love this product, however set on 000 it does not outline so well as a mag type clipper, can i adjust the blades to closer toward a zero overlap?

  • UK Trend Setter is similar to USA SpeedMaster neither will gap to Zero.

  • I just got the Andis Super Select and it's incredible for 60 bucks (plus shipping), it has so much more quality than any basic wally world clipper. It's made in China but don't let that discourage you from buying the Super Select. It's the best clipper I've handled so far, I want the BGR+ someday.

I cut my own hair every 7 to 10 days and use only the 1/8 and 1/4 inch guards but use the adjustable blade on the SS often.

Damn nice clippers that feel good in your hand too.

  • whats better Andis Speed Master or Andis Speed Master II?

  • Speedy II is better...next generation from Speedmaster I

  • hey ivan i have a question.

i'm going to buy a pair of clippers, either the improved masters or the speedmaster 2. i know you can use guards and such for the sm2, but can you use guards for the improved master also? plus, does the sm2 when i use a zero give a close buzz like the improved master does with the zero?

  • Yes, both can use guards.

No, SpdII does not gap to 0.

    Ivan

  • how much better does the IM cut hair as opposed to the SM2? is there much difference?

  • About a month ago, I got a Speedmaster 2 to replace an old Wahl Senior that finally gave up. I used the Wahl on hair between 1/2 to 1" thick because of the attachments that covered that range-5/8, 3/4, 7/8 and 1 inch. (That's the way I was taught many moons ago). Well the SM2 has the needed attachments and I love my Improved Master so I went with the Andis. It's great! I now find myself using the SM2 in places where I would've used the IM but when I do I now feel like I'm insulting an old friend

  • Speedie II is a great tool. I know how you feel about cheating on your ML...

  • is the improved master better than the speedmaster? i know the speedmaster comes with the attachment combs and has a different motor type but what do you recommend? so many master products!

  • Hey clipper guy, is there an advantage of getting the speedmaster 2 over the speedmaster and how do they compare to the oster fast feed clipper?

  • Speedie II is smaller, lighter, slimmer and has a ceramic blade... plus a bit more power. The next generation of the Speedmaster name. definately worth the few extra $.

Samller, lighter, more poweerful than Oster fast Feed. Plus the ceramic balde that Oster does NOT have. Plus lower price than the Oster... can't beat that!

  • can i adjust the blade the same way i can adjust the speedie 1 to get 5x0? cuz i try to adjust other ceramic blades but have a difficult time.

  • Speed I and Speed II have the same range of blade adjustment... use the same lower blade on both... just the switch to the ceramic upper (cutter) for Speed II

  • Thank you

  • Hey clipperguy, i went and got the speedmaster 2, adjusted it to my liking and must say that's pretty good. There was one thing though, for a ceramic blade it got hot pretty quick. would that be because it's a bit faster than other pivot motor clippers?

  • @clipperguysays I bought the Speedmaster II, and am looking for a replacement blade. Andis hasn't sent out Ceramic versions of the blade to any major beauty supply stores in Philadelphia, and I can't find the ceramic version online either. Where can I get the Ceramic version of the Speedmaster Blade? Sally Beauty Supply only has the all metal.

  • Improved Master is the king. Mag motor, high blade speed. SpeedMaster is slower, but with more torque. Imp Master is for DRY hair. SpeedMaster can cut heavy and wet. SpeedMaster is smaller, lighter, imported. Improved master is made in U.S.A., solid metal.

  • Hey. I have an Andis Improved Master and when I bought the clip on attachments, it didn't come with a size 5. I was looking at sally's and on ebay and I can't find a size 5. Do they even make it? Please reply if you can.

  • We do not make a #5 / 5/8" for the model ML in the 01380 guard set. We have a 5/8" in other sets and a 5/8" universal will fit the ML series clipper as well.
