I rediscovered this song on Friday when I was listening to "Rhymes and Reasons." The clarity of this recording is great--the only thing that I miss from the recording on R & R is the crescendo before the final verse.
I just put my father -87- in a nurseryhome he's loosing al of lhis memories... I'm sorry - how beautifull the song is- I do not look forward too growing old......
yes but those of us in the older fan base probably had the good fortune to see JD live at some point...I will always treasure that...the other treasure is the summers spent backpacking in the rockies...nowdays,sleeping on the ground isn't quite as kind as it used to be

This song is so true. Age creeps up on you and before you know it your life is behind you. I never looked forward to growing old, but here I am.
